    Nobu is one of my favorite restaurants and I am lucky that I have been able to dine there many times over the years. This visit, however, was super disappointing. I made a reservation a month out for a friend who’s dealing with a terminally ill parent. When I made the reservation, I made a note that it was a special occasion. It was his 50th bday and I wanted to do something really special for him. I specifically called the restaurant the day of the reservation and reminded them that it was a milestone birthday and his first time eating at Nobu. They said they would make sure our server was aware and promised to send a dessert with a birthday candle. Fast forward to the end of the meal, not only did the server not even mention it, there was no candle. No fanfare whatsoever. I was so crushed that he didn’t have the opportunity to blow out a candle on his 50th. On my way out, I stopped by the host desk and shared how disappointing it was that no one read the notes and no one acknowledged his 50th. Hostess promised manager would call the next day. It’s been a full week and not a peep from Nobu. It’s so disappointing you guys DGAF about my complaint and given the opportunity, refused to own the mistake. There are a lot of amazing restaurants in DC. I’ll think twice before coming back again. Do better, management.

    Quality of the brunch was inconsistent with the usual Nobu quality. Also the buffet style made the food not be right temperature so it just fell flat. We lost our waitress after we got first round of drinks. For $90 a person I would have expected better service and better food. Maybe copy Chang Chang model of delivering fresh to the table (also unlimited). This felt like a let down. As Nobu lovers, makes us not want to come back tbh.
