Excellent service, food and experience. Very expensive, but worth it especially for a special occasion. Tuna tartar was mind blowing with caviar on top, which really elevated the appetizer and the sauce connected both ingredients. We also got an assortment of sushi, chicken and beef skewers, miso soup, edamame, shishito peppers, oysters and very juicy, very tasty wagyu beef dumplings.
Excellent. Aurora was a fantastic server and we enjoyed her suggestions. Very happy environment.
It was really good the waiters was perfect
Perfect experience. What a fabulous improvement from our other visits.
The food here is incredibly delicious and beautifully presented. But the prices seem more fitting for New York vs Washington DC. Maybe it’s Covid and the social distancing, but the room feels sterile and the low ceiling slightly oppressive.
Glorified sushi spot - honestly have had better sushi from grocery stores.....
Food was amazing and ambiance was great. Service was good but I have had better at other Nobu locations.
This is the best place to grab a drink and dine in with a nice dim lighting and perfect for dates or a night out with friends. Definitely recommend Nobu
Omakasei service felt very rushed, our miso butterfish had two large bones, and overall this was the worst experience we’ve had at a Nobu. Missing the quality and attentiveness we usually associate with the brand.
The manager did his best to ameliorate our concerns, but it was not a great experience.
Usually one of my families “must go-to” restaurants when we are all together. Food is always amazing, however the service this time was just average. We were celebrating my wife’s birthday and when Nobu called to confirm our reservation, they asked about the occasion and had me provide the birthday name. When at the restaurant, there was no mention and staff seemed quick to serve and rushed. Just not our normal experience.
The whole experience was excellent
Overall, it was rather disappointing experiences at Nobu!
The Sushi and sashimi were very good; but the rest of the set menu (omakase) was below average. The dishes had too much sauce, seasoning, making the main ingredient difficult to taste. The miso black cod, for example, was marinated with so much miso that I had to order steam rice to dilute the salty taste. But the rice was hard, clumpy and inedible. How can a high-end Japanese restaurant not make decent gohan?!? The last course, Wahyu beef, again was overpowered by the sauce, and way too salty. Even the dessert lacked imagination - a dry chocolate lava cake with green-tea ice cream. Also both the presentation and quality of the dessert was sub-optimal, in my view.
My positive impression of Nobu was tarnished my last dinning experience. I am holding a reservation at Nobu NY in May but am contemplating canceling it...
The atmosphere and service was absolutely amazing. The food was to die for!!! Absolutely have to try the mouth watering A5 wagyu! I didn't see my usually drink on the menu but they were more than happy to make it for me anyway. Absolutely delicious as always. The service was astonishing, the employees all worked together beautifully to cater to our needs. Definitely recommend to try the menu option where the where the chef picks courses for you, they had wonderful dishes presented to us and absolutely delicious as well. Definitely recommend if you would love a lavish dining experience.
Poor value, course pacing on meal was very off with inconsistent (long) waits between courses, omakase menu was uninspired and routine, service was very touch/go, for example we needed to get up from our table multiple times to close a door that was periodically left open and drafting cold air on to us.
Would not recommend. Save your money and try one of many other DC sushi / Japanese restaurants at 20-30 percent of the price.
It just wasn’t as good as it was when they first opened.
A superb meal in a beautiful setting with top quality service. Astounding.
Disappointing. Food was inferior to what I have experienced at other Nobu locations. Better food at my local sushi restaurant. Service was cold and indifferent. Felt rushed even though the restaurant was not busy and they did not seem to need the table. Removed dishes before we were even finished. Went to celebrate my son’s 21st birthday. Was hoping for something special and was let down. I noted we were celebrating a birthday on my Open Table reservation. The restaurant called to ask whose birthday I was celebrating, which I thought was nice. But then they added that they would acknowledge it if we “choose to purchase dessert.” Though I was not expecting anything free, I thought that was a tacky approach. We did not order dessert and they didn’t mention the celebration. We were in and out in under an hour; expected more from Nobu.
Food was good but doesn’t hold up to Nobu NYC. Crowd was questionable
My wife and I love Nobu.. It's our de-facto celebration place.
This time around we were just celebrating the Spring weather and Nobu delivered. We also had a craving for some sushi plates so we we dove deep into the sushi menu at Nobu... yumm..
The food is always outstanding and the service is always great.
This was one of the best DC food experiences I've ever had. The hosts were extremely accommodating and affable. The food was A1 - the wagyu dumplings, the bluefin toro sushi, beef tenderloin, THE BLACK COD... come on now. In the divine words of THE Future Hendrix, "Nobu Nobu Nobu Nobu."
Anniversary date. First time visitors. Everything was excellent from noise lighting, friendly, personable staff, and of course food.
Staff were nice enough to accommodate our large party (we sat at 2 tables across from each other). Food was great! A little pricey, but well worth it.
Great delicious wond
Amazing food and our server was very knowledgable! exceptional service
Our server, Bo was magnificent and her team that were part of our experience were just as thoughtful and knowledgeable. I wanted to share something special with someone special and Nobu never disappoints!
Good Friday family dinner
Always delicious. Standouts were the crispy rice and the wagyu beef dumplings. Don’t bother with the tacos, they are minuscule.
Nobu Vegas food seemed to be better but the food here was good. Ambience and service was nice.
Server was great, I hope you can figure out who it was. And my date had never been there so everything was perfect
