Enjoyed the food and atmosphere greatly. It did take some time to get food to our table of 9 - the meal was a total of 3.5 hours, which felt quite long.
Customized meal was amazing! Perfect birthday dinner
My guests thoroughly enjoyed the food and atmosphere at Nobu.
Great service and food. Fun atmosphere
Dont waste your time. Its expensive and just ok. Service was horrible, server barely spoke english clearly. Found hair in dessert was told not a hair. I know what a hair looks like just admit it and move on. Wont go back and wont recommend
It was my brother’s birthday and they made it perfect!
It’s a great experience! Food,
You won’t be disappointed! Nobu DC is extremely good.
Our server cut out early, never handed off to another server so we were left hanging. Totally unprofessional for Nobu, the floor staff was aggressive cleaning up or table, we still had 5 pieces of sushi and the women came over and started removing our food, happened twice. She was pushing us out at 9pm and the restaurant still had 6 tables full. The way she reacted was awful, totally snarky and rude.
Food was incredible. Service was a bit slow. Had to ask 4 people for water but when I ordered a cocktail, it came immediately. Guess I just needed to order the right thing!
I’ve eaten at Nobu in other cities and had great expectations. So this was highly disappointing. Food took ridiculously long to get and menu not the same. I go to Nobu/Matsuhisa because of menu options and quality of food/service. Something amiss at this one.
Nobu is always just another level. I have been to several around the country and the service and food never disappoints. I had the featured cocktail which was a bourbon based drink and it was ridiculously amazing. I really enjoy this place as a once in a while splurge and being in DC with my daughter looking at colleges seemed like a good excuse. Great time and look forward to the next time.
It was a good experience. Good food. Service was a little bit slow due high occupancy.
Great food. Great atmosphere. Only average service, however. Food is up to the Nobu standard but the service was remarkably poor compared to what I am used to at their restaurants. They even served a plate with an allergy restricted item by mistake.
What a place!!! We tried a few items from each section on the menu and everyone of them were unique to its own taste. If you like well prepared meals, this place won’t disappoint. Everyone from the valet to the host to our server were welcoming and courteous.
Loved it. Waiter was great and informative. Ambiance was lovely.
Everything was great. The waiter was very busy and our table was in an awkward area of the restaurant.
If you go to Nobu and leave without ordering the lychee martini and lamb chops (medium cook, of course) you’ve truly done yourself a disservice. Absolutely amazing.
The food is delicious. The drinks are decent. The service could have been a little bit better. We didn’t receive our food in the sequence we ordered it. It took me 30 minutes to get a Coke and Wagyu slider. We received our sushi rolls first which were ordered 15 min after I placed the order for the Coke and slider.
The perfect dinner.
Outstanding food chosen for us by our outstanding waitress. Was a special experience.
I miss really great sushi. Moving from Chicago to South Carolina has put a damper on regular access to high quality sushi. Whenever I travel, I look for restaurants with great reviews. My fellow diners led me to a wonderful meal. The waitstaff put together our menu based on our suggestions and it was perfect!
Nobu delivers again. Excellent service. Great food. Wonderful suggestions. Highly recommend.
The food was as good as always, and we love eating at Nobu. The noise level, however, makes it very hard to hear the people at your own table. We were in the front third of the restaurant, and perhaps because of the crowd at the bar, it is noisier, but it makes a leisurely dinner harder if you can't converse with your guests.
Very over-rated. Some of their top, signature dishes were just ok. They described the crispy shrimp as being like bang bang shrimp (from Bonefish grill) and it wasn't as tasty as Bonefish but cost double. Service was just ok. Our waitress forgot we had even order, gotten and eaten our edamame. I expected quite a bit more for the price tag ($300 for 2 people).
The waitress was excellent. Knowledgeable and patient.
The pacing of the food was erratic. Appetizers came after the main course. The veggie roll was tasteless and the curried fish appetizers was mushy. These were the high points.
Conversation was interrupted by the staff clearing plates even while one was still eating from it.
I assume every restaurant has an off nite and this was it. I ill not experience such an off nite again.
Exceptional from start to finish. Food is consistently delectable and the service is always stellar.
Our service for the 2nd time in a row has been atrocious. We had to request food menus after sitting for 10 minutes. From that moment forward, we had to consistently raise our hand to get our server’s attention in order to request food or take away our plates. The delay in simply getting our drinks was much longer than it should have been. For a place where you will spend minimum $200 for 2 people, the least they can do is have decent service.
We had a great dinner at Nobu. Service was a little slow to start in terms of getting menus, drinks, etc. The food service was good though. It came out on time and well paced (we did the tasting menu). This place is not cheap and a little dark and loud just to prepare you for the ambiance. I loved it though and will be back.
We went there for our anniversary and had a reservation. Our table was not ready and we went to the bar to wait. Entrance is very nice but otherwise the seating area is nothing special. Food was good but for the price was not blown away. Good to try once but probably not go again. I’ve had better sushi for less the price and being that I am Peruvian the Peruvian dishes didn’t seem worth it than what I would get on the street in Peru for a fraction of the price. Just because it’s expensive doesn’t mean it’s great. But still good.
You expect to pay a fair amount for top of the line sushi. The prices at Nobu, however, are out of all proportion to the quality of food offered and are significantly higher than what other sushi restaurants charge. A better caliber of food can be had at Kaz Sushi Bistro or Sushi-ko at 2/3 the cost.
The service and food was awesome. We selected the custom menu and the server picked wonderful dishes, ones we would have never tried. It was a celebration dinner for my kids accomplishments and it was a memorable experience.
Phenomenal food and service!
Very consistent and the wagyu is incredible
It was a cute low key restaurant. I decided to go for my birthday dinner.. but after having 5 different appetizers (all small portions) which was fine. They were all extremely salty. The sushi was actually salty like as if they marinated the rice and fish. The Waygu beef slider was really salty! Also got the dumplings and crispy curried sea bass it was just too salty. The drinks were ok, overall because of the apps we decided not to order dinner there. Went to mastros after.
Love Nobu! The environment is chic and modern, great for a date night or celebration. we took the server's recommendations and experienced a wonderful array of food. Great experience and amazing sushi ! I recommend you try it!!
Our waitress Zoe was fabulous! The food was absolutely beautiful and delicious. We will be back soon for another amazing dining experience. Thank you!!!
The restaurant week menu was not worth the value at all. The appetizer and entree combined was less than the amount of a standard restaurant appetizer and the quality of ingredients was very low. The garnishes were cheap, unseasoned vegetables and there could have been some kind of starch included rather than charging an addition $16 for low quality sushi rolls. The dessert was something you could purchase at a supermarket. We were unsatisfied and had a second dinner afterwards.
The service is impeccable. I will say that though I enjoyed the appetizer (White fish dry miso) and the entree (the Black cod) immensely, the portions were rather small. I was not a fan of the mochi I had for dessert. The sushi was also excellent.
