some dishes very small portions and other were big - hard to order unless you have been there before., good veg sushi - fresh and tasty. excellent service.
It is indeed very good but very expensive also. I´d recommend it for an special occasion. If you go, unless you really know the menu, I suggest you ask the waiter to make you a customized meal. He did a great job with us that we didn´t know the menu. The food he picked for us was delicious.
Had much higher expectations. Ambiance was odd. Many of the tables just felt randomly in the way. Food was good but very overpriced. $40 for literally two bites of a tiny miniature taco. Service was the worse. Lots of servers came to our table but weren’t communicating so several times we waited and waited and waited for items and some they totally forgot. At that price I expect a better ambiance and better service. Almost $500 for two people with no expensive wine.
The black cod really wasn't worth it. Our food came 40 minutes after we sat down and at weord times. The waiter said it was because the kitchen was backed up.
Definitely worth it! An amazing dining experience with unique flavors that will surely delight!!!
Stellar service, wonderful food and ambience. Their Happy Hour is one of DC’s best kept secrets.
I have been to the NY, Miami and Las Vegas locations. I can honestly say the DC Nobu had the best service of them all. I recently found out I had some food allergies I had to navigate. I must admit I was nervous about navigating the menu but figured if I made a mistake it would be worth it. After all it’s Nobu. After speaking with the server about my concern he created a special 7 course meal that flowed together amazingly. Tastes and textures between courses was amazing and also allergy free. Thank you for such a great experience.
The staff was very attentive and they customized our meals.
Very high-quality food, all the dishes were outstanding. The quality of fish was incredible, my personal favorites were the Chilean Seabass, Salmon Skin Salad and the Tuna. Cocktails were classic but very nice. Great atmosphere, and generally energetic bar as well which is fun to hang at before/after.
We have been patrons of many of Nobu's locations. This location has a great vibe and never disappoints.
The food we ate was great. Varied in flavors and presentation but all delicious. Our waiter seemed a little harried so he's say "be right back" and that was not quite true but he was a long-time Nobu waiter and knew his stuff about both the DC and NYC locations. We will go back.
Sameer was an excellent waiter!!
We have never been disappointed with an evening at Nobu.
We have been to Nobu in NY (2), London and Dc.
Late night reservation (9:30 pm) so restaurant was not chaotic. Delicious food and wonderful service!
The experience really suffered due to our waitress.
A fabulous meal everything was delicious. I opted for the custom menu where the restaurant selects my meal based on preferences. The shrimp and steak were probably my favorite. But it was all delicious.
My nephew chose omakase. His meal included sushi. He enjoyed everything, as well.
I had fresh fruit for dessert and highly recommend it. There was more than enough for two people. It was the best fruit I’ve had in a long time. The raspberries were to die for. But it was all great.
Food was amazing and our waitress was superb. She made sure that not only was our food exactly how we wanted it (not too spicy) but even gave some great recommendations that we ended up loving! Definitely coming back soon.
Birthday dinner. Lovely night and the food was delicious as expected.
Food and service was amazing. Expensive but worth every penny!
Took a while for the server to come to our table. A few servers kept dropping dishes. Seems a bit disorganized.
The food was
After dining at many of the NOBU restaurants...this has left me speechless. The service was some of the worst I have ever experienced. Our table was located, literally, in the middle of an aisle. I was knocked down by every person that walked by. We waited literally for thirty minutes for cocktails and the restaurant was only one third full. The service was unbelievably awful...and to make matters worse...the bathroom was so small that another patron hit me with the door while I was washing my hands. The door to the bathroom opened inward and due to the size of the bathroom there is not enough room for, at most, three people. Overall...I love the NOBU franchise and would definitely recommend several of the other locations. D.C. needs more time to “work out the kinks”. As always the Black Cod Miso was a little slice of heaven.
Food was great but service was SO SLOW. Dinner took 3 hours. It was excruciating.
Very overpriced sushi.. needs more interesting rolls etc.. been going to nobu in ny etc for a very long time and I feel it’s missing it’s creativeness. Great appetizers..we were there for my sons graduation and wanted it to feel special but clearly did not..
The service was a bit slow, but the food was excellent.
Nobu has always been the best place for sushi with great service from extremely knowledgeable staff.
Nobu was not the experience I expected. The service was terrible and I feel like they judged me by my appearance. The food too terribly long to come out and it was not up to par.
Everything was super nice, the lighting, the music, the food, the people who were working there were also super nice. The place is classy so everybody’s dress code was also nice. All in all a very nice restaurant, an amazing international brand!
Excellent good as always! Service was great once it started but did take a while before anyone greeted us or supplied a menu after being seated. Solid omakase experience and we'll be back!
For a reasonably expensive restaurant, we found Nobu DC disappointing. The service was very slow, especially to give in our drink and food orders and to be served our drinks. We ordered some small plates and some large plates and were surprised when the large plates came out first and the small plates came out second, all at once. The large plates (rock shrimp and short ribs) tasted terrific; the small plates (shrimp tempura, avocado tempura and chicken teriyaki) were only average. The restaurant is attractive but was quite noisy.
We went for Mother's Day dinner. Server was very knowledgeable and helped us with our food and wine selections. Every dish was delicious. Word of caution: It's easy to get carried away ordering different plates, which can run up the bill. Server suggested options and you might consider giving a per person limit to help guide ordering.
Service was very poor. Waiter forgot to refill water or wine....
Food was so so. I love Nobu, but today it was not that great.
The best! We celebrate my friends 50th and she was so excited and enjoyed the experience. They were great about taking care of a party of 11 and helped us keep it a surprise, cake was brought out and she has a lovely experience. Great all around. We will come back!
Excellence all around service ! Food was fantastic. Ambiance perfect !
Great food and presentation. Our waiter was very kind and attentive. He made a personalized menu based on our tastes which was very delicious. One issue was that I said I was pescatarian and he did bring a meat protein course, but when I told him he immediately went to pick out a new salmon dish.
Very nice ambiance, good portion sizes, and polite servers. The food is also very good.
Amazing meal. You will be delighted. We recommend letting the chef construct your meal based on you answers of some key questions.
I had high hopes for the highly acclaimed Nobu restaurant. Eager to treat ourselves out to a nice dinner, we opted for the classic omakase menu ($120/pp). For what turned out to be a $200 dinner/pp we certainly left the restaurant disappointed by the service, food and overall value.
When you opt for the omakase menu, it's chef's choice therefore there is no menu. So we are totally relying on the servers to explain what it is that we're eating -- this was not the case here. Besides the brief statement of what we were eating upon bringing it to us, they did not go above and beyond to explain what everything was. For example, "this is the kai cappuccino dessert." Or at least that's what I think she said. When I questioned what "kai" actually was, she just blurted, "it's a tea." and that was that. Great. Now I fully understand what it is..... (not?!?!)
I was just annoyed at the lack of service they provided and the lack of knowledge they had of the food, especially since we were relying on them to be the messenger.
Me: "What cut of meat is this?" (asking about the steak dish)
If that doesn't tell you how undertrained they are, I don't know what will. Disappointed and not impressed.
It was a great experience. First time. Love it. Will definitely go back.
Celebrated my 6th wedding anniversary and we had a nice time. Overall enjoyed it but I think a bit over priced for the quality of the food. Food was solid but not amazing and spent $500+ for two
Food was delicious, king crab rolls recommended. Chilean Sea Bass with wasabi and miso was amazing
