   Girl's day Japanese dinner was delicious. Presentation of food was nice and food was tasty. Great service.

   There was a mix-up in our order and my food did not arrive until after everyone else had finished eating, so I had them pack it to-go, instead. Also, the server seemed harried or generally disinterested in his job, or maybe he was just having a bad day, but the service did not feel welcoming despite the traditional salutations yelled out by the sushi chef when we arrived and got up to leave. I brought my Japanese cousin here because it is my mother's favorite Japanese restaurant in Kailua, but the service we received left me wondering about her choice...

   Don’t be in a hurry! Service is spotty but you don’t mind as they try and are simply understaffed but gracious and accommodating. Food was great! Fresh and fairly priced.

   Noboru was one of our favorite Japanese restaurants on the windward side. We hadn't been there in many years and decided to revisit it. There weren't many customers but the food service was very slow. Our server was pleasant and the ambiance seemed familiar; however, the vibe was very different. Food came out one dish at a time with the rice being the very last item. Our party was large but not too large for the confusion of items for each of us. We probably won't return.

   Sushi hurt my belly. Thats really all I need to say. That is inexcusable. Sadly, we Kailuans need to go to town to get good sushi. Terrible service. Very slow to bring out food. Waiter could not answer some simple questions about the food. Will never go back to this place.

   Real Japanese cuisine just like my Grandmother’s cooking. Sashimi was fresh and cut properly. Portions are small because that’s the Japanese way of presentation. The dinner combo was a good deal. Tempura batter was authentic and cooked properly. Maki rolls - sushi rice was well seasoned. Extensive Sake menu. Fried tofu - Agadashi Tofu was delicious with a nice sauce that had ginger and daikon. Can’t eat flavorless sushi at the grocery store or Chinese restaurants anymore - when you can eat the real thing.

    We've dined here several time and we always go for the food not the ambiance or quality of service but the food which is always really good.
