About Nicoletta + Beppes
A small neighborhood trattoria located in Portland's Pearl District - much like one found on any street corner in Italy. It is the perfect destination to create an authentic Italian dinner, or simply enjoy an espresso, sandwich, salad or fresh bowl of pasta. Nicoletta+Beppe's is inspired by the Torriti family of Cortona Italy. Their love of quality food, gathering around a table to fully experience a meal, and their dear friendship drew Nicoletta's Table owners, Al and Shari Newman, to create this space. Their mission is to provide the freshest ingredients the Pacific Northwest has to offer in their delicious homemade pastas, pizzas and breads.

Nicoletta + Beppes Ratings and Reviews
This is a great Italian restaurant! Have been twice, both times a party of four. The cocktails are fun, love the Italian 75, and the wine list is amazing and it is arranged by region. The pastas are delicious, generous servings and nicely priced. Favorites were the lamb ragu, wild boar, lasagne and carbonara. Favorite salad is the warm spinach, pancetta and hazelnut. Service is spot on. Will be back soon!
The atmosphere is nice and it's in an excellent location but my takeaway was that, though the menu sounded good, the food was not prepared well. The boar pasta was too smoky, the lamb tagliatelle was mushy and unappealing - it looked and tasted like leftovers. The Caprese salad claimed Burrata mozzarella when it was definitely not and when I asked the server about it, he just lied to me. The Brussel sprouts were bland and undercooked. My friends liked the sable fish and the lasagna and we all liked the warm olives. I just wouldn't go back and I wish there was something better in that location.
We love their sister Lake Oswego location and are so happy with this “hole in the wall” in Portland! The cheese plate was fabulous and their Italian wine list is amazing. The waiter knew his wine and guided us to a couple of bottles we loved! The food was delicious (veal chop, & spicy sausage and clam risotto). Will definitely be back!!
This review is no different than the ones already posted. The food was AMAZING! All four of us could not stop talking about how our fantastic our dishes were and shared little bites with each other. We will definitely go back for more of that wonderful food and great service.
First visit and we already decided to show up again day later. Outstanding service and delicious italian food. We tried the octopus..yummy, the calmari, a pasta and a steak. All done to order and pasta was frsh and al dante . Do not skip the tiramisu or cannoli.
We will be back.
Excellent food in an elegant and chic italian restaurant. Service is fantastic with prices of food and drink pretty fair considering the location and quality of food. Overall, a wonderful dining experience for a date night, friends get together, or a group event. 10/10 would recommend!
Very nice restaurant. We went in for lunch and it wasn't very busy so it was nice and quiet. Food and staff were great. Actually, we used to love Fratelli when it was in this spot many years ago. The new layout is much better (enter directly from the street as opposed to walk down a narrow hallway). We live out in the western suburbs so we don't often make it to Portland, but will definitely eat here again.
What started out as distressing, ended as a great evening. The restaurant did not have our open table reservation. It was a crowded busy night, but the restaurant was able to squeeze us in, thank goodness! First time Open table has not worked in making a reservation. The food was excellent, we chose the specials. Rack of lamb and spinach ravioli. I would recommend both. I also ordered the squash salad, which was excellent. The Tiramisu for dessert was perfect. The only thing that was difficult was the wine list. I needed the waiters help to navigate the Italian wines, but he chose an excellent red wine. It is busy atmosphere that feels a little chaotic if you’re trying to have a relaxing dinner. There was a singer and piano player which added to the atmosphere in a positive way and helped reduce the chaos. I love the Italian food here and will go again!
We arrived on time for our reservation and waited 25 minutes before we finally left. There were two empty tables that need to be cleared before guest could be seated when we arrived. They were still that way when we left. We noticed people looking for the waiters to pay their bills. It appeared to us that the two waiters were also the busters, bartenders and cashiers.
The meatballs and sauce are to die for. My salad with shrimp scampi and caprese were very delicious. My friends enjoyed the veal chop parmesan but I prefer thinner cuts of meat. The wine that was recommended was great. I will go back to try more of the wines. The decor could have been better but the waitstaff were very nice.
In making our reservation, we wrote that this was a wedding anniversary celebration for both couples and that we'd prefer a quiet table, if they had one, where we could speak softly. We ended up being seated at the table closest to the bar -- probably not the best choice, given the noises that accompany that function. We weren't requesting special treatment in light of our celebration but were surprised that there wasn't as much as a mention of it -- something as simple as "happy anniversary." Frankly, it felt as if our comments on the Open Table reservation form had either been ignored or not read at all. The waiter suggested a wine -- and brought a taste of it -- only to discover there were no bottles remaining ("not in the system"). If there was a dessert menu, we weren't asked if we'd be interested in seeing it. Overall, it smacked of a not very well run operation, which is too bad, because we wanted to like it. On the plus side, two of the dishes we had were excellent: a gnocchi with pistachio pesto and prawns, and a wilted spinach salad.
I am glad we went back to the restaurant with my husband and our friend with whom I shared my birthday with.
It was a completely spontaneous arrangement and we just walked in.
It was a great dinner and nice service.
The waiter was very nice and attentive. Right away he got our orders and brought us our drinks. Food followed right after and it was delicious.
We had a variety of dishes from the octopus to the meat balls, veal and halibut and every and each of them was exquisite. The deserts (cannoli and tiramisù) were heavenly.
The owner was there and she graciously introduced herself.
A long review to say that I experienced myself how everyone can have a bad day but a second chance is fair and right and in my case number 2 was the good one. Now I feel comfortable in recommending this place and definitely will go back!
We were seated at a comfortable table by a friendly waiter. Everyone working there was smiling and pleasant. We had a few glasses from the wine list. The wine list is all Italian and has a very good booklet describing wines and wine regions, very helpful. We started with a green salad that was dressed nicely. For entrees, we had the risotto special, a pizza and the lasagna. The food was all good. We finished with some mint chocolate chip ice cream, which I recall was house made.
