Chef Bill Montagne’s house-made pastas and fresh seafood, alongside Pastry Chef Leigh Omilinsky’s creative and approachable style are perfectly suited for the setting’s rustic elegance.

They used to offer a full bowl of musssels with great broth. But no more. Very disappointed.
Celebrating a Birthday dinner and the food was delish! Strongly recommend the lamb tortellini & lobster amariticiana. One diner has a gluten allergy and they are very accommodating.
This is the second time Ive been to this place and both times it’s been awful and overpriced. First time had a salad, second time the burger and honestly they were both below average. It’s a cute spot, good location... going there for drinks is ok, service is good... but the food is not good.
Get away from home
We had very good service on a Saturday night and appreciated the recommendations from our server and sommelier. We liked our wine selection but were really disappointed in the food. The best dish which was just so-so was the tuna sausage orecchiette although we thought it was extremely bland and didn’t have enough sauce for the amount of pasta. We didn’t care for the kale salad nor the bass fish entree. We dine out often and haven’t had a meal we disliked in many years but maybe we hit an off night. We did like sitting at the chef’s table vs. the tables for two that were extremely close together. With that said, however, there are too many great restaurants in Chicago for us to likely return.
The overall experience was very good. The food, wine selection and the waiters treatment was excellent.
My only criticism is that one of the dishes we ordered came to the table extremely late.
They can do safely prepared gluten free items - the service was incredible! Can’t wait to go back.
The food was passable, the service was pretty bad, the prices were very high. All in all not the experience we were looking for.
Great small plates, and the Branzino was AMAZING!!!
The Brussel sprout bruschetta was fantastic and was the pan seared gnocchi. We sat at the counter and watched the staff prepare salads and other dishes. Fun way to dine. Excellent service and overall experience
Over rated. Got seated and bar so clothes were scented by cooking and seats were hard and uncomfortable. Management has an attitude and not that helpful.. waiter great
Everything from the moment we walked in the door ordered our meals enjoyed meeting people sitting next to us to leaving was a wonderful experience I would go back in a heartbeat
It was a great experience
The food was good! The matron was very accommodating and allowed me to move to a more lively place. Went late in the night so some of the dishes were finished. Had the Brussel sprouts (omg good), octopus (good but not all that). I had the gnnochis and it was DIVINE.
For dessert we had the tiramisu and it was good but nothing crazy like everyone raves about.
Overall a great place to eat and fairly priced!
Very good meal with great service
The food was delicious but we can thank our server, Laura, who steered us towards the best options on the menu. We will be back soon and ask for Laura again.
Great food. Counter seats are not comfortable.
The tables are very close together. No privacy here!
Italian donuts are outstanding
We had such a lovely experience! We always love Nico, it’s like being on vacation when you walk into the beautiful entrance. Bret A was our waiter, he made our dining experience! He was so much fun! He spoiled is! Toping off our wine, adding a side because he thought it would be delicious with our branzino, 2 deserts wasn’t enough, we needed to try three! His smile and joyful personality will keep us coming back!
Brussels Sprouts sandwich is SO good. Perfect for Gold Coast people watching.
Nico Osteria continues to over-achieve. Consistently, in any measurement of restaurant excellence.
Here’s to Ginhee Oh for her non-stop leadership, and excellent support team !
Wonderful service and house-made pasta. The sardines and the meatballs are a must-have appetizer.
Nico was amazing. Their personalization and knowledgeable staff made our anniversary special.
Restaurant was great! Awesome for gluten free diners. The pasta was very good; some of the best gluten free noodles I have had.
Amazing - food was fantastic and staff was great
Nice atmosphere, attentive service, good wine list. Food was so-so. My wife and I shared a veal sweetbreads app which had too many flavors competing with the sweetbreads. My wife enjoyed her poached halibut. I ordered the whole salt crusted branzino and asked that it not be deboned before being served. The waiter said that was not possible but without a good explanation why. The "whole" fish arrived in parts. Seems a little "fishy". Desserts were good.
I could not find my waitress anytime when I need. And because we wait too long for the service, we have no time to have dessert.
While the venue is attractive and the service is quite good, the food is well below what we expected.
The scallop crudo was fresh and flavored nicely. The charred octopus was bad. It had a very strong fishy taste to it that we had not experienced with octopus at other restaurants. We ended up sending it back. The rest of the dinner was hit or miss - the chicken dish and homemade gnocchi were very good but the lamb and rigatoni dishes were not well flavored and bland.
The food is perfectly crafted and seasoned. Delicious bread and wonderful atmosphere. We eat here often and always have a great meal and evening
As always had a great time, Crudo and hamachi collar were standouts. Delicious pasta. Fig tart for dessert was the perfect ending. Great cocktails, wine and spirit list.
Anniversary dinner. Fantastic ! So flavorful! Perfectly paced service. Can’t wait to come back.
Loved the rigatoni and our server Bridget. Had a table by the window and enjoyed the hustle and bustle of Rush street.
We came in to celebrate our engagement for brunch. Food was delicious.
Only hiccup was when a server dropped dirty silverware on my fiancée and stained her clothing and jacket with red sauce. No one came to address this after it happened and no accommodations were made.
Overall very enjoyable. The only two minor knocks are the atmosphere in the dining area is a little too crowded for me. Table layouts and traffic flow limit the comfort. The octopus appetizer was just ok but the balance of the meal and the service was top notch.
Excellent service. I was hoping for a lunch menu, but we got a brunch menu...we were thinking about leaving, but our server was so enthusiastic and persuasive that we stayed. I am so glad we did. Service was awesome. Food was “to die for”!
Every flavor always so well thought out. Best service ever!
Amazing as always
Excellent waiter (knowledgeable, friendly, + helpful / wise recommendations) and very good food in a pleasant peaceful indoor setting.
Nice Weekend brunch with different type of options. Good Italian wine list. Service is very good.
