We celebrated my wife’s birthday here. I will say the food was amazing! The service was even better. Isai took great care of us. He stopped by our table every few minutes to see if we needed anything. When we left, every server we passed told us to have a good night and smiled at us. By far the best service we have ever seen. I highly recommend eating here and experience the great service they offer.

This was our first time visiting Pietro Santa. The restaurant just opened early May 2025. I had been walking by here several times as it was putting on the finishing touches before opening. It is a fabulous place! The ambience is just beautiful and immediately rises to the top of the finer dining venues in San Diego. Not only is the decor and ambience stunning but the food and service were equally amazing. We were very warmly greeted by Marina when we entered the restaurant and she took us to our table. The menu offers a wide range of selections that are sure to please everyone’s palette. My wife and I ended up ordering a beet carpaccio and a tuna tartare for our appetizers knowing that meat was going to be what we order for our entrées. The beef checks or the steak tartare looked so appealing but we stayed on the lighter side. They were both excellent! For entrees we ordered an Argentinian Rib Eye and a Veal Milanese. Nobody offers a good Veal Milanese in San Diego and finally I have found a place that does it not only well but amazingly well. It was delicious and done the traditional way. As we learned the ownership ties are to both Argentina and Italy so I see how the Veal Milanese became part of the menu! The rib eye was also delicious. It was well marbled, super tender and served at exactly the right temperature. We shared a potato gratin with mushrooms which was also delicious. Our server, Rivai, was outstanding. She offered helpful insight into the menu, was super friendly and attentive. All in all it was a tremendous experience that already makes into the Top 3 in downtown restaurants in our opinion! Bravo! We can’t wait to return!

We had a wonderful experience from start to finish. This is a beautiful restaurant in downtown San Diego. The service was impeccable. There was always someone available to help us when we needed it but not so overwhelming that we felt like we were smothered. Our waitperson was adorable and very knowledgeable. Even the manager came by once to check on us and she was very nice as well. Drinks were very good. I did not try them all but everyone said they enjoyed what they ordered. I had a rum and passion fruit drink that was very good. I would definitely order it again. In some way it reminded me of a Mai Tai but it was different too. Really good. We are familiar with Buenos Aires and I have not found an empanada in the States to compare until now. They were perfectly baked and served with chimichuri. Delicious. We had a steak and salmon and Milanesa. All were delicious. The steak was cooked to perfection and the flavor was wonderful. The Salmon was nicely cooked and the Milanesa was good but a little salty. This is a common thing in Argentina so I discounted it as normal. Dessert was good. We had pana cotta and a Neapolitan. Both were very nice. All-in-all our experience was great. We all thought we would definitely come back again. It was well worth the time here. You should check it out.

Food was amazing! Service was outstanding. Definitely recommend the empanadas, skirt steak and ribeye. Flan is also fantastic. We had Omar as our server and he was very knowledgeable. 10/10 recommend and will definitely be coming back!

Steaks were excellent. Empanadas were solid. Mac n cheese and mushroom side dish were good as well. Service was a little slow at times, and a couple other side dishes were underwhelming, but great experience overall.

We and all the tables around us spent an hour + after the meal to hang and drink. Vibe was great. Steaks weee hot and great mix of cuts. Lovely house music; just turn it up like 15% volume and turn the lights down 10% more.

Beautiful restaurant and amazing concept. Had the stone sampler with different types of meats, steak tartare, and empanada trio. Steak tartare was good, wish the meat was a little colder. Tartare sat on a bed of Domino potato type. Very thinly sliced potatoes in the form of a donut. Great dish. Empanada trio of pork, chicken, and beef. They were delicious but all had different crispiness levels. The pork Verde was the best as far as flavor and crispiness. The Hot Stone sampler for two... Had a little technical difficulties with the server exploding our meat in fire lol. Created a huge fire ball. Smoke was blowing everywhere and oil was popping on my wife so we had to take the meats off the hot stone and put on a regular plate. This caused are meat to be way over done and drenched in oil. This was probably a one off because others who ordered after had a gentle flame and no smoke. Can't really judge the meats for this reason but the blood sauage was AMAZING. With all this being said I do recommend the restaurant. I will be back to actually taste the meat. I did not make a big deal of this because that's not me. Whole meal was around 300$. Was it worth it for the experience. Definitely not. But like I said we will be back to hopefully have a better experience because their menu is really unique.
