Navadhanya first opened doors it doors in 2014 launched by cousins Krishna VijayKumar and Arun k Chandran with the vision to create a very different experience from traditional Indian restaurant food in Cambridge. The dishes have been perfected by experienced Indian chefs who have worked in top restaurants , including Michelin-starred London restaurants. Navadhanya is now highly ranked among the best restaurants in Cambridge and has also been honoured with a prestigious listing in the Michelin Guide. We hadn’t been to Navadhanya since they moved from across the road to their current venue. (Pre Covid times) The restaurant itself and staff were all very nice. Unfortunately the food was not like it used to be and instead of being a cut above most restaurants that serve Indian cuisine (eg fine dining) it wasn’t really much different. Which is a real shame as it was previously excellent and that was their point of difference and worth the price. We had the starter Gheva and Patta chaat that was huge and really we could have just share one ( the previous papdi chaat they used to do I feel was much better) We had a range of mains but felt the sauce used was very generic that you either had prawns or chicken in depending what you ordered. It just didn’t have the freshness and completeness of their previous offering. I think if we had never been there before we would have been satisfied and thought it was ok. Unfortunately we had enjoyed many meals before with family and friends both tasting and a la carte menus. Having said that food and taste is very subjective they still offer varied menus and their tasting menu and it is a good Indian restaurant just not to my particular taste anymore. The staff remain attentive and terrific and the restaurant itself is lovely.

We’ve been coming here for years, but haven’t been in for six months or so as we live quite a long way away. I was a bit worried to be honest after reading the previous review on here that things had gone downhill, but it couldn’t be further from the truth! We were greeted very warmly, the food was utterly outstanding, as good as it always has been, with stunning presentation and wonderful flavours. Service was friendly and impeccable. Still very much one of our favourite restaurants and closer for us than those of a similar ilk in Marlow or London.

The food was not at all good and authentic. They are just making the food for natives and it is not all Indian style . They add lot of sugar in all dishes and make it high calorie as well as heavy. They have only very limited choirs but food was horrible ( all dishes they loaded with sugar) . Not worth it have . Limited menu , high calorie non authentic and high price … yes Navadhanya !!!

Wonderful food in a lovely atmosphere. We had the seven course tasting menu and it was a great experience - beautifully presented with unusual flavour combinations that really worked! I would have given 5 stars for the service too, were it not for the fact we had to wait WAY too long for our coffee. It turned out that our (two) coffees were delayed by a large cocktail order from the private dining room. I guess they could do with another member of staff or simply train one of the waiters to make coffee.

We had the vegetarian tasting menu and flight of wines for my husband’s birthday celebration. It was amazing food served very attentively. The wines were a delight including one from India.
