The steak was quite awful, especially for $40. The servers stuck us in the corner and rarely checked on us, as well as taking 20 minutes just to take a drink order. Would not recommend

The hotel and restaurant allow people to make a ton of noise in the pool during dinner and later which is unacceptable for the exorbitant price of the hotel. The pool is very close to the tables Those people should go to a watetpark, not an amazing hotel like this and ruin it for everyone at dinner.

Prices are so highly inflated and for pretty bad food. Shrimp tacos, daily catch, and burger were all flavorless. Also, service was very slow. They definitely don’t have enough servers on the dinner shift. You’re better off going up to the grab n go on level 7 for a hot dog.

This is really good food for a poolside bar. Much better than it’s counterpart at Mauna Kea. Fresh catch was excellently executed.

Waited, along with most other guests, for almost 1-1/2 hours after ordering before food was delivered. Not once did the manager walk through the dining area to apologize to guests, rather, he put the burden on his wait staff to deal with annoyed customers. Very poor management.

A nice informal setting by the main pool with an outstanding view of Hapuna Beach-great for sunset. Food was very well prepared and fairly priced. Service was friendly and efficient. We return here each tine we are in Hawaii.

Naupaka casual poolside restaurant at Mauna Kea Hapuna Hotel is a very pleasant spot with a beautiful view over Hapuna Beach to the Pacific. The food is good and reasonably priced for Hawaii resorts. Highly recommend for lunch or sunset dinner—salads, burgers nachos and desserts all good. Try the delicious banana split, plenty big enough to share.

It was a disappointing dinner - though some of it is. not the restaurant’s fault. Upside was gorgeous setting and nice ambience. The food and service were not as good as we hoped. My three kids didn’t really enjoy their meals - nachos, soba noodles and Mac and cheese. My husband and I thought our food was decent, but not notable. A half dozen flies swarmed our table when we were eating, which was unpleasant. Our waitress was okay but not very warm. I didn’t think she checked on us at all once food arrived. I was disappointed with lack of vegetarian options but appreciated willingness to modify for us.

You come here for a very casual low key evening. Food is rather bland, team working here are great. Wouldn’t travel to come here but a convenient option if you’re staying in hotel and with kids.

We ate here a few times as it is the hotel restaurant. Near the pool. Has a view of the ocean. Food is totally decent. Had gluten free options. Especially enjoyed the salmon quinoa bowl and the banana split - kolulu is main ingredient and it’s gluten free.

Great option at the beautiful Hapuna Beach Westin. We ordered the Market Fish once day and Fish. Sandwich another day. Both were overcooked which was a shame. Otherwise we enjoyed the food, the service, and the ocean views ? The salads are awesome and large.

To start off, our server was outstanding. She was kind, knowledgeable and engaging. And sadly there is only one more good point- the view. Otherwise the food was bland, microwave heated dishes that were horribly expensive. And if that wasn’t bad enough, honestly the worst piano player/singer. I’m not sure how she could mutilate songs so well and be played so loud, I actually believe she was able to drown out a beautiful sunset. I would never recommend this restaurant.

The grounds are stunning. Equally stunning where the number of house flies that came with our food. I've eaten meals in third world countries and nothing compared to what we experienced. This was an off night for the kitchen - the fish in the fish tacos was tough enough to have been shark. My wife's gluten free bun was two slices of bread toast and the leaf lettuce was 2x the size of the slices. The hamburger was one of those frozen pucks you serve at a fund-raiser.

This is a casual beach place so food here is about what to expect at this style of place. Staff was very overwhelmed so patience was important. Nice folks and clearly doing the best they could.

Lovely chilled evening meal. Really nice spacious, so felt private as we couldn’t hear anybody else’s chats. Really felt comfortable there with the kids (6 and 3)

Probably the best one if Hapuna/Mauna kea beach hotels. This place is a nice balance of all things you could find from a hotel restaurant. Food is tasty. Wide variety of selection from easy eating to steak or lobster. Price isn’t bad. Service is great and relaxing - not the one you would expect from luxury dining. The view is nice but not crown jewel of the hotel.

Naupaka is a beach bar. The drinks are very expensive, resort quality, and oversweet. The food is very average. Though our server was wonderful, the other staff, especially at the pool where the restaurant sits, were not welcoming. If you are going to spend the money, which averaged $50 per person, go somewhere where they at least try to make it worth the money.

Maybe you get decent service if you stay in the hotel, but certainly not if you are not. My request to sit on the ocean side for my birthday dinner was denied as it was 'reserved for a big party' even though several tables where open there for the rest of the evening. As a result we sat close to the pool on the table furthest away from the ocean next to noisy kids playing at the pool. As non-guest I had to provide my credit card upfront. Hello! I got a reservation and you have my personal information already. Ambience reminded me of the 70th. Dessert was served in a cast frying pan??? I guess that is creative? The food was ok and the waiter was friendly, but over worked. Positive: It's Hawaii and my wives BD, so for that it was beautiful. Overall a very weird experience. Recommended? Most definitely....NOT.
