Ambiance is fantastic between the unique entry and water views. Excellent experience stopped there. Sushi ordered was not memorable. Ordered spicy salmon roll and tempura roll and they were just ok. Ordered truffle salmon roll and it had no truffle taste. Asked for extra truffle oil as a result. Waiter said truffle taste was supposed to be subtle but it was non existent. Waiter forgot our starter order of cauliflower and sushi ordered was delivered to table in less than 5 minutes after order placed. When ordering dessert we asked what flavors of Mochi they offered and waiter said they were not able to share flavors with diners and it was the chefs decision. Never heard of a restaurant offering mochi on a menu without explaining the flavors. It would be like offering ice cream without saying the flavor. We opted for another dessert as a result.

Very slow service. My guests lost momentum after the extended wait time from small plates and roll to dinner. In face, half of the table grew tired and preferred to skip ordering meals.

Sushi was amazing. Three people ordered sea bass and the fish smelled really bad that they had to send it back. Resturant was very accommodating though. Gave us a round of champagne and more sushi.

Sushi rolls were good but nothing special in my opinion, so the price point didn’t make a lot of sense to me. The shishito peppers were very good and some were really spicy. The restaurant had great decor and is a cool place to hang out. I’m not drinking alcohol, tried one of their alcohol free cocktails and was really surprised that it was $12 before tax and service charge. Maybe I just don’t get it? But seems like what’s basically a lime juice soda shouldn’t cost as much as an alcoholic drink typically does. I think you’re paying for the vibe here and not as much the food and drink.
I am sorry you didn't enjoy every aspect here. I have passed your culinary comments on to our Chefs. With regards to non alcoholic drinks, I must tell you we put a lot of thought & care into them as having fun & creative mocktails is very important to our bartenders, the owners & myself. Several people in that group don't drink alcohol & love to imbibe a mocktail or two! As far as price, one of our neighbors a few doors down charges $14...with the same amount of love. We went for the NYE experience and it did not disappoint! Not only were the food and drinks delicious, but the restaurant created special unique dishes to accommodate food allergies. The filet mignon and the sushi topped with scallops/wagyu were our favorites. We also really liked the duck with kimchi foam. We will definitely be back for sushi and the cool cocktails, like their “wagyu and whiskey never hurts”.

Angel was an amazing server and provided top notch service to my wife and I for our anniversary. The food was delicious and angel did a good job pairing drinks as well. The only downside was that I ordered the $300 wagyu ribeye and was a bit let down in terms of quality of the meat. It was tasty but have definitely had better A5 wagyu elsewhere. Besides that, an amazing experience that will have us coming back again! Thank you so much!

Me and my sisters had an amazing time at Nara-Ya! Beyond our expectations in every aspect. The food was so amazing — we had the duck, sea bass, short rib & sushi. The service however was even better than the food! We will definitely be back experience it all over again.

Okonomiyaki’s “Japanese BBQ sauce” was straight out of the bottom shelf of the sauce aisle at the local Giant. The clam chowder was fine, but light on the clams. The tempura calamari was way too bready.
This was great sushi, but the staff was slow. After we were seated I took about 30 minutes to be waited on. There is a 20% gratuity automatically applied which is perfectly fine and what I normally tip, however, I think our waiter used it to his advantage and made our experience there not as pleasant. He did also make comments about how we did not order enough food (2 rolls) but we weren’t as hungry at the time and knew how much we wanted to eat. Those comments made us feel very uncomfortable. Overall, food was wonderful, service could have been tremendously better.
Great food (the shishito peppers and sushi were excellent) and cocktails. I loved the aesthetic and atmosphere, too. Very grown up. Service was impeccable!

Great place for a date night, the drinks are excellent.
Angel was amazing he gave us a 5 star experience.
We booked a reservation here prior to a concert at the Anthem. I figured 2.5 hours would be more than enough time to dine and drink prior to. Unfortunately, I was wrong. The cocktails were yummy, but we had to chase down anyone to get refills. We ordered our apps and sushi at the same time, but our sushi didn’t come out for an hour or more after our apps. It was a little crazy how slow the service was. The servers and bussers were very friendly and seemed to be well staffed, so it’s unclear why it was so slow. Overall, we ordered 2 apps (shishitos and calamari) and 4 sushi rolls. The sushi was fresh, but nothing overly impressive, which was a drawback for the cost. The cocktails were good! Overall unsure if I would return.
The place is amazing, the food and service were great too! The only thing was that we went for HH and we were told that you can only order from the HH menu if you are sitting at the bar. We were pretty disappointed but now we know for next time. Definitely would recommend and definitely going back!
