Nantuckets Port Jefferson
Owner Richard Gertz is a seasoned restauranteur on Long Island, with over thirty years in the business. He transformed Panama Hatties, a local bar and grill in Huntington into a destination for fine dining. Richard opened this location as Crazy Fish Bar and Gill in July of 2016.
A new Chef team has inspired our name change to “Nantuckets” as our menus offer so much more than a bar and grill.
Food was amazing as was the service. Beautiful area also
The food was great. Our server was excellent. The space was a little tight so my chair got knocked into a few times but it didn’t mess up the evening. Would go again.
We definitely love this place. It wasn’t our first time and we keep coming back. It was the first time taking my mother in law. What a hit! She loved all the food. The flat bread was so yummy along with the calamari and different sauces. I absolutely loved the halibut crusted with pistachio over lentil. It was so delicious. The waitress was very good and friendly. Kudos to the chef for making us a delicious dinner. All the seafood dishes and pastas are scrumptious!
Definitely a little bit pricey... But that wouldn't stop me from going back. Very nice restaurant with a nice atmosphere and great service.
The food was excellent and the service was on point. I would recommend to anyone and plan on coming back again.
We waited for 1 and a half hours with our resercaruon
Went for Restaurant Week. Don’t know what other choices are on the full menu. The seafood empanada and lobster bisque were good but nothing to write home about. My wife’s braised short rib was excellent. My shrimp on a bed of orzo was quite good, although when I saw another diner being served the pistachio crusted salmon w/asparagus, I felt that might have been the best choice. The vanilla ice cream filled crepe w/berries was excellent.
The service however, in my opinion, was mediocre. Overall a pleasant experience. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go back but if I was in Port Jeff I’d give it another shot.
When 3 out of 4 people get sick on salmon, management should take ownership of situation and offer to make good. Spent a lot of money and when called to explain what happened, I got manager on phone who was quite defensive and tried to say the food probably just didn't agree with the 3 people. Offered no recourse. Because of how the situation was handled, will not go back and will not recommend
Went for Restaurant week , menu was one app, main course, and desert. Service was a bit unenthusiastic, was seated next to a table of men who were loud and cursing until I asked them to please mind their manners as I was dinning with my wife at the next table . They apologized and bought our drinks , the food was good, prepared and presented well, wife had the salmon and I had gulf shrimp , both tasty. Desert and coffee again good . I would go back
This is our second time in a month dining here and will be back
Amazing dinner! Beautiful restaurant
We sat in the bar area with the fireplace on, which was warm and cozy. Food was good, a little pricey. Limited gluten free options
I ordered the Day's Special--swordfish with a lemon, butter sauce that was accompanied by lobster mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. It was wonderful! Husband got awesome fish and chips.
Waitress, Cammy, was a delight and the host had a good sense of humor.
We had 7:45pm reservations on a Saturday night. Had a few drinks, enjoyed our friends. Service was attentive and polite (until they wanted to leave). The food was prompt, wonderful, tasty and hot. The reason for 3 stars is the place cleared out, we were the last ones there. at 9:45 we were still enjoying desert and some drinks when the lights were turned on full blast, the owner shut the heat off, and the staff were cleaning around us. When you pay over $300 for dinner you should be allowed to relax and enjoy the atmosphere and not be rushed out the door. After such a delicious dinner I was left with a terrible taste in my mouth. Not going back for a Saturday night dinner...
The food was delicious!!!! I would definitely go back next time I'm in Port Jefferson!!!
We went here with a party of 8 on New Year’s Day for my husbands birthday. Four adults and 3 small kids. Our waitress was very nice and accommodating. We ordered the baked clams, calamari and a third appetizer hat I can’t recall. Everything was delicious. My entree was the salmon which was soooo good. Two people in my party didn’t love their entrees, the seafood pasta and the lobster Mac and cheese. The fourth in our party had the chicken which they enjoyed. The kids shared pizza, fries and Mac and cheese. I would definitely go back to try out many of their other entrees. I imagine it is very pretty in the spring and summer since it overlooks the water. The price was also great.
Food was very good ambiance was very nice not to noisy I will be back.
News Year's Eve dinner was my first experience with Nantuckets, PJ and you hit it out of the park. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The menu was excellent and the value was spot on! I would recommend this restaurant to friends and family without reservation.
Food was outstanding!! My new favorite restaurant in PJ. We sat in a room which had a very GREEN hue and was weirdly lite. It made everyone’s skin look yellow-it needs to be revamped and relit. Other than that excellent meal-we will
Food was delicious and service was excellant would definately recommend this restaurant
The resturaunt temperature was on the cool side and I spoke to the waitress and maitrade. We were seated next to the windows which didn't make it comfortable.
Great food and outstanding customer service. Will definitely go back
Great food at a resonable price. The lobster bisque had huge peices of lobster in it and the salmon was cooked perfectly. Will eat here again...
I made this reservation for my family of 11. The food was fantastic and the service was even better. The lobster chowder, and clam chowder are a must have to start your meal. You may want to try the seafood Paella too!!
The service was excellent and the food very good. The room was noisy, especially because of a table singing Xmas carols.
We've been to Nantuckets for both simple weekday dinners and special occasions with friends. Food is excellent and service is just right.
Now that the restaurant changed from being a fish house to american it's much better. Food was excellent service was a little slow that was ok for a Saturday night. Would definitely go back.
Very good, creative food. Signature cocktail is a must! But....when it's a full house, the service tends to be a little spotty.
Great food, wonderful staff! Do not miss the Bloody Marys or the lobster chowder. It is a local favorite.
Went for Restaurant Week. My wife and I both had the steak. They were very flavorful, but both very tough. Everything else was good.
It was restaurant week and Nantucket’s was the choice for me and my 3 friends. Great menu and the actual food was just as good.
It was great!
Very welcoming atmosphere combined with outstanding service and delicious food !
Everything was great! Food was fresh and well prepared and they had an awesome wine selection- even by the glass. The service was kinda and attentive without being overbearing. My only complaint was the lighting in the bar area was too bright and the fire place made it way too warm. Also- the bread basket was tiny. Otherwise- perfect.
first experience there — cute cozy little spot for great food and drinks!
Everything we ordered was fantaatic
Everyone enjoyed their food, although the hen dish was very salty. Sliders, seafood pasta, bolognese were all delicious. Service was very friendly and there seemed to be enough staff working for a less than full restaurant but the service was extremely slow.
