Nantuckets Port Jefferson
Owner Richard Gertz is a seasoned restauranteur on Long Island, with over thirty years in the business. He transformed Panama Hatties, a local bar and grill in Huntington into a destination for fine dining. Richard opened this location as Crazy Fish Bar and Gill in July of 2016.
A new Chef team has inspired our name change to “Nantuckets” as our menus offer so much more than a bar and grill.

I made this reservation for my family of 11. The food was fantastic and the service was even better. The lobster chowder, and clam chowder are a must have to start your meal. You may want to try the seafood Paella too!!
The service was excellent and the food very good. The room was noisy, especially because of a table singing Xmas carols.
We've been to Nantuckets for both simple weekday dinners and special occasions with friends. Food is excellent and service is just right.
Now that the restaurant changed from being a fish house to american it's much better. Food was excellent service was a little slow that was ok for a Saturday night. Would definitely go back.
Very good, creative food. Signature cocktail is a must! But....when it's a full house, the service tends to be a little spotty.
Went for Restaurant Week. My wife and I both had the steak. They were very flavorful, but both very tough. Everything else was good.
Great food, wonderful staff! Do not miss the Bloody Marys or the lobster chowder. It is a local favorite.
It was restaurant week and Nantucket’s was the choice for me and my 3 friends. Great menu and the actual food was just as good.
It was great!
Very welcoming atmosphere combined with outstanding service and delicious food !
Everything was great! Food was fresh and well prepared and they had an awesome wine selection- even by the glass. The service was kinda and attentive without being overbearing. My only complaint was the lighting in the bar area was too bright and the fire place made it way too warm. Also- the bread basket was tiny. Otherwise- perfect.
first experience there — cute cozy little spot for great food and drinks!
Everything we ordered was fantaatic
Everyone enjoyed their food, although the hen dish was very salty. Sliders, seafood pasta, bolognese were all delicious. Service was very friendly and there seemed to be enough staff working for a less than full restaurant but the service was extremely slow.
Food was excellent: it looked good and it was tasty, prices were reasonable, service was excellent: Hoste was very pleasant and gave me a taste of the wine before I order my glass. the place was clean, quiet and cozy.
I absolutely love this place ! If I didn’t live so far I’d go more often !
We went for a birthday celebration with ten people. The service was awful. We were the only people at the resteraunt at 6pm drinks too 15 to 20 minutes each time someone ordered a drink. Our food order was placed and half our food order came out at 7:41pm. The other orders were sent to the wrong table, they were burgers. At about 8:15pm the burgers came out. At this point everyone's food was cold. The seafood was frozen and chewy. Overall the worst experience I have had.
Went with husband and some friends on a beautiful Saturday night. Not very busy, seemed like an older crowd. We were all happy with the god and desssers. Good table service, not great service when we were getting a drink from the bar before we sat down. Would recommend and return
Food was good service not so much Had a 1 pm reservation sat after 1pm. They did not even apologize forhe delay Service VERY slow
Always enjoy coming back. I do wish they would've kept 'seafood bolognese' on the menu; we ordered 'seafood pasta' on accident because we thought that was the dish we remembered. Overall, still recommend dinner here.
Service was great and the staff was very friendly. The food was excellent. Definitely will be back!
Food was delicious! Went with a group of six before theater. All staff pleasant and very accommodating! Will definitely go back!
Didn’t see any lunch salad offerings on the menu. Menu appears very limited for lunch. Local clam and oyster options were pricey.
Great looking game place
We had the skirt steak which was so delicious and the seaffod special over spaghetti. Also delicious.
Flatbread app could be a meal.
Easily got a reservation shortly before time. But were told we could be seated with only drink menus because of a back up in kitchen. Tables were available? Told we'll take of you- assumed they would bring out an appetizer or offer a drink special but no- nothing. We found this very odd especially for a pricey place. Eventually we were allowed to order and food was ok and wait staff pleasant but view is parking lot. Much better places for price in area. Disappointed
Food was excellent. Seafood risotto, spring rolls, seafood pasta special, and strip steak all received raves. Service ok. Prices a tad high. Sat on deck. Vegetarians go somewhere else. Just spring rolls or salad. If you crave seafood you can’t go wrong here.
Limited menu...very limited, disappointing and expensive. If we didn’t order drinks we would have left.
This was our first time and everything was delicious!
Our server, from Chile, was fantastic. She knew the menu and described the entrees with great detail and made excellent recommendations.
We will be back!
The staff was very attentive and accommodating. The food was inventive and superb. It was a great experience.
Wife and I made a impromptu visit for lunch pleasantly surprised. I had lobster roll my wife had the filet mignon sandwich generous portion very tasty. Service was excellent very attentive. Looking forward to going for dinner. Recommend you give it a try.
Appitzers are expensive but entrees excellent. Wine list is good value. bottle of merlot was j Lorh for 32. Salmon was great and salad really good
Three of us went for lunch. It was our first time at the restaurant. We all had the “fish of the day” sandwich. Delicious: fresh and perfectly pan seared on a nice ciabatta roll. The sides were also very good: French fries were a big hit, the quinoa & kale salad was a bit too salty for our liking. We split a rice pudding for dessert. It was excellent!
Our server, Cami, was awesome! There were lots of places to choose from in Port Jeff. I’m glad we ended up at Nantuckets.
I felt the two chaaawdah selections were pasty and the specialty flat bread too mushy. The mussels were very good as were the pasta dishes. The cappuccino crem brûlée had a weird flavor, but the key lime pie in a jar was good. I did not see the need for the jar part. Our server was from Chile and was exceptional. She could not have been sweeter and accurately described the mango spicy cocktail to my friend. We loved her. We will go again. I never like to judge a place on the first visit if it isn’t perfect. The owner greeted us at the door and was there to say goodbye. He asked us to come again and we will. Everyone should give it a shot.
Great piece of fish. No cashew coating like menu said. Very over cooked. My guests meal was very good. High prices for paper napkins kind of place.
Cute new place. Good food. Super friendly staff with one exception...greeted a bit oddly and uncomfortably. We got over it😁
First time heading to Nantucket’s since it changed over from Crazy Fish Bar & Gill (personally I liked to the former name better!) The menu has since changed a few of our favorites are gone but our blackened shrimp appetizer was great. My seafood bolongese was great - pasta cooked perfect. My husband ordered the seafood paella special... unfortunately he was not as pleased as I was. It was lacking flavor and the seafood was over cooked. Our servers were great and the bartender was attentive and remembered how we liked our drinks even after we left the bar and went to our table. To some, they may say the kitchen was slow, but we liked not being rushed through our meal. We enjoyed our evening.
The food was soooooooooo good!!!! Had a shrimp special and a watermelon salad special.
Perfect place to eat really good food in PT Jeff
