Nanas is a neighborhood restaurant in Durham, North Carolina. Helmed by Chefs Matt Kelly and Nate Garyantes, Nanas pays tribute to Nana’s, our beloved predecessor, while reimagining all of the details. Abundant, local ingredients shine on our seasonal menus, which feature dishes like Twice-Baked Grits Soufflé, Duck Ragout Tagliatelle, and the iconic Nana’s risotto alongside seasonal wood grilled whole fish, crispy lamb shoulder, and fresh-baked breads and desserts made daily in house. In our cozy bar you'll find finely executed classic cocktails and local beers, while the wine program offers upwards of 250+ labels of impeccably curated, farming-first wines. If your desired time for a reservation is not available our bar seats are open on a first come first serve basis. Call your nana, it's time to eat.

    We are so excited to bring you our next wine dinner, featuring wines from one of our absolute favorite wineries! We will host our dear friend Greg Pfaender of Authentique Vin as he guides you through a lineup of truly electric wines from the Jura. The wines of Tissot are everything we look for: thoughtful, terroir driven, and unapologetically delicious! Matt will be in his element as he prepares a 5-course dinner full of traditional and not-so-traditional French dishes. Truly one for the books. We hope to see you there!

    Hey! We're hosting a celebration for the opening of our new patio at Nanas. We'll be pouring some of the best rosé on the planet, Clos Cibonne, including some unicorn bottles from our cellar. Matt will be making some fun passed apps and will have a few surprises up his sleeves (as he always does). This will be more casual than our usual wine dinners and it's bound to be pretty warm, so casual attire is more than appropriate. We hope you'll come have some fun with us!

    We went to a "fancy" restaurant to celebrate our 65th wedding anniversary. The warmness of the waiter to our celebration was very nice (as was the offered glass of bubbly!) We especially enjoyed food presentation (and the chicken liver pate starter). We went early so were not bothered much by the noise of the rapidly filling tables as we were leaving. That said, the accompanying "fancy" prices were not something we are likely to get used to!

    Great experience for my birthday! They really make special occasions feel special. The food was delicious, pasta is a small portion so I’d do as an appetizer. Chicken & lamb was good portion. Great drinks!

    Everything was very tasty. I had the grilled oysters and then the risotto. My wife had the scallops and the grilled trout. All very well prepared. Even the martinis were fabulous. Service was also perfect. All on par with the very best in the Triangle -- serious competition for Fearrington House and Heron's.

    The food was outstanding - each course carefully and creatively prepared, and beautifully prepared. The appetizers (wood grilled oysters and a scallop dish) were exceptional as were our main courses (lamp and duck.) Don't miss the hot chocolate souffle for dessert. Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive - she was great!
