Seating will have an array of options from intimate to groups. What differentiates our Indian Concept is that we will present a majority of the menu items as Shared Plates which are appropriate to enjoy and are vastly popular as all-day offerings. The idea behind the concept is that groups of people can enjoy spending time together socializing and mingling whilst trying a wider variety of offerings instead of just ordering an entree per person. This will allow Nama to cater to a wide variety of preferences and palates!
- Surfaces sanitized between seatings
- Common areas deep cleaned daily
- Clean menu provided to every guest
- Sanitizer or wipes provided for customers
- Contactless payment available
- Limited number of seated diners
- Distancing maintained in common areas
- Extra space between tables
- Sick staff prohibited in the workplace
- Waitstaff wear masks
- Diners must wear masks unless eating or drinking
I would highly recommend this restaurant. The food was so good my friend and I were still talking about it for days. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable. I plan to go back the next time in Richmond.
The service was great, the drinks were good, some of the dishes were good, but most of them are just ok. The sweet potato small plate was just terrible (my opinion). The prices are pretty steep. If I was asked by my friends, I'll probably tell them to skip this one.
Food and service were terrific! Food prices were good but drinks were definitely over priced!
Stopped by Nama after visiting the VA Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond. We had been craving some good Indian cuisine for awhile and this was just the thing to satisfy. Started off eight he Chili Wings as an app, and while there was only 4 in the order, the flavor was really superb. Good spice, great char, and the sauces alongside really paired well with the wings!
For mains we ordered the “Sampler Platter” (the true name escapes me) and the Chicken Korma, with a plain Naan.
The Platter included 2 lamb chops, two large pieces of Chicken Tikka, and three Tandoori Shrimp, alongside three dipping sauces. Everything was cooked perfectly, the flavors were all different but in the best of ways! The Chicken Korma was actually the only item that was not very spicy (and my wife prefers Spicy when it comes to Indian food), but it was a nice relief to enjoy the subtle nuances in the curry over just heat on heat.
Naan was also delicious!!! The area is a little disheveled at the moment but this restaurant deserves all the attention it can garner. Big YES.
Very serene and pleasant experience!!!
Nama was a beautiful restaurant with an inviting atmosphere and ambience of decor and music. The food was delicious, service was impeccable and drinks were amazing!! We will be back!!
We thoroughly enjoyed Nama during our visit to Richmond. It was some of the best Indian food I’ve ever enjoyed. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Great atmosphere & vibe, too.
We were the only customers. The food was decent, but nothing I would ever recommend or order again. Servers were friendly. Ambiance was somewhat cold and bare. Would not recommend or return to Nama
Natasha served my family. She was so sweet and wasnt put off by our requests (plain fries instead of masala seasoned for my daughter and no onion on our palak chat). I ordered a cocktail that was made to perfection by Nasib. The food came out perfect and to order. Ambiance was perfect and we all enjoyed our time there. We always have a great time and our food is always perfect!
Loved the aesthetic and fun to eat Indian in a small plate style. The food was very good although the papri chat could have used more of the intense flavors that make it fun. I would go again.
Great local find for gourmet Indian food. Would definitely go back again!
Blown away by the scrumptious food, warm service and energetic ambiance. Wasn't expecting much, just wanted a nice date night with hubby. The scallop and spinach dishes along with the complimentary cava were unexpected culinary delights. The crispy wings and Calamari were good, too. The only miss involved the thin, chalky garlic nan bread. Looking forward to returning.
great food, feels quite authentic. The portions were a little bit smaller than I am used to, but the taste more than makes up for it!
Wonderful experience from start to finish.
so excited to have found Nama! excellent menu. perfect serving size. fabulous drinks!
The food was pretty good except for the calamari small plate, which was rubbery and odd tasting. None of our dishes were hot enough - thermally - and might have been tastier if they had been. Service and ambiance were great.
Delicious, fun dinner with the family! We all learned about, tasted, and enjoyed all the the small plates we ordered. What a great way to explore Indian cuisine together! We all highly recommend, and will definitely go back!
We loved all the small plates, but found the curry pots average. Cocktails were great! Will be back to try more small plates.
I absolutely love Nama. The food is exquisite and modern and the cocktails were delightful. We were able to have a wonderful conversation and could hear each other even though every table was seated. Will always come back to this jewel in the city.
Great service and amazing food. Ate off the Fixed Price VDay menu and it didn’t disappoint! Can’t wait to head back to see the full menu.
Love the food. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful b
Incredible meal! Loved the menu options. Great energy! Will definitely return and recommend.
The slowest in service. Had to wait more than an hour and half to get the food. Priced highly for the taste, quantity or wait time.
The feel of the Resturuant is very calming and peaceful. Our server was attentive and informative. Our dishes arrive hot and they were all delicious. I highly recommend Nama. Will be returning very soon! Thank you for a delightful dining experience.
Excellent Indian food. Loved the fact that there are many choices for small plates as you get a chance to try several dishes. Will definitely be back soon.
By far the best Indian foid in town. Atmosphere is lovely as well. Lunch was served quickly. It worked out great for everyone's work schedule. Thanks, NAMA!
This place is fabulous! Nama met our expectations… And it was an above and beyond experience! The cocktails are creative and AMAZING… Fresh, bright flavors and knowledgeable bartender. The manager is A+!! Sociable, fun to talk to & helpful. We'll definitely be back— and bring friends!! 110%
Love NAMA!! I’ve been there twice with friends and everyone has loved the food. The tapas style menu makes sharing easy and we loved trying so many things.
Seated in upstairs area when there were plenty of tables available in the main dining room. Upstairs was very bright and did not have the same relaxing atmosphere as the main dining room. Portions were very small.
Ryan thank you so much for visiting us. We can understand how the upstairs does not set the same tone as the main floor. We are working on changing the lighting settings and provide a more intimate experience for diners. In the future please feel free to recommend the main floor and we will ensure our hostess to place your party accordingly. Thank You!
The food was too spicy and there is no mild option. A Saturday night was just starting and They were already out of some cocktails and small plates. The service is not too friendly.
Love this place and I wish them very well.
The food is a little pricey but delicious! The menu selections are great! The noise from the pop up bar next door greatly impacted the dining experience.
Megan (I think), my waitress was very nice! She recognized that I was an out of towner and made some suggestions of things to see around the city. The prices were reasonable and the food was outstanding, I had the paneer appetizer, the chicken tikka masala was some of the best that I've had thit's side of London and the garlic naan was the best I've ever had! The next time I'm in town I will definitely be back! Highly recommended!
Food was very good and flavorful. It had just the right amount of heat for us that don’t like too spicy. The ambiance was very nice. We will definitely return.
Have been a few times now and always love it! Easy to reserve a table. Fun to try different small plates with friends.
This was our first time there and we really enjoyed it. We got there very early so not a lot of customers but by the time we left the place was getting full. I would recommend!
Went for New Year’s Eve and they had run out of the one Vegan option which was an appetizer. They had a limited menu so their regular other vegan options were not available. Service and Ambiance were great. Food is usually phenomenal.
Delightful and delicious as always
My only complaint with Nama is it is attached to a pop up nightclub. The music was excruciatingly loud with the bass reverberating without mercy. And this was at 7:30! This really took away from the beauty of the restaurant and the overall ambiance of such a nice place. Nightclub and fine dining just don’t mix. Lose the nightclub during dinner hours.
