Classic cheese & onion + shredded pollo rojo wrapped in a corn tortilla, smothered in a hearty enchilada sauce made with chile seco and sprinkled with monterrey - jack cheese.
Sour Cream Burrito
Lightly fried corn tortilla with a light spread of crema mexicana, stuffed with refried beans and our house recipe pork green chile + sprinkle of monterrey - jack cheese.
Crispy Chile Relleno
Housemade crispy anaheim chile relleno smothered in our pork green chile. Definitely a favorite!

Crispy corn tortilla neatly stuffed with shredded pollo rojo and topped with crema mexicana + guacamole and queso fresco.

We've been coming to Grand Junction for years but this was our first visit to MX Tapas Bar. We had margaritas, tacos and chimichanga and all were very good. The staff was friendly and attentive. The furniture, carpet & decor seems a bit tired but we were comfortable enough. We certainly would consider coming back next time we're in town.

We went to MX Tapas with a reservation on a Friday night. We were seated right away. The waiter took our drink order which took a while to get. In the meantime another waiter came to take our drink order as well. After getting our drinks we ordered the tapas plate, it took at least 30 minutes to get our food. Food was very good. A friend joined us and order two tacos, that took another 30 minutes. The waiter apologized but offered no explanation for the long waits.

Although the food was good, the service was very slow and it took a long time to get drink refills while we were dining. The restaurant wasn't even half full, so I don't know why the service was so slow.

Good concept but unfortunately like many western slope dining experiences, it was poorly executed. Tortillas that were light & fresh yet grossly oversized for the amount of meat served in them and wet over juicy droppings don’t make for great tapas. The margs were okay. Not strong or overly flavorful.

Had a new waiter. Asked for the salad which he said was ample with salmon on the side, received a small salad with sushi grade salmon. Not quite what I expected. Will go back to the tacos next time which are always good.
