From the OpenTable editors: Wife-and-husband team Michelle Karr-Ueoka and Wade Ueoka trained in MICHELIN-Starred kitchens from Napa to NYC before returning home to open what Eater calls one of the most essential restaurants in Honolulu. The airy, second-floor space has a big, bustling dining room for Hawaiian comforts like the signature mochi-crusted kampachi and wagyu beef sliders on housemade mochi buns.     Chef Wade prepared delicious entrees that were lick smacking yummy. The osso buco and the short rib with foie dishes were so good tasting and refined. The mochi crusted kampachi was a crunchy treat. The miso butterfish was heavenly. Even the vegetarian mochi crusted tofu was a winner! Chef Michelle’s desserts were also primo! The mango shave ice with coconut tapioca and mango chunks was a fabulous dessert as was the Black Forest ice cream sundae with marinated cherries and also the peanut butter chocolate bars with sesame ice cream! All great!

    This is our favorite and most memorable meal in Oahu! It’s fine dining, but done in a casual and friendly way. The food is so inventive and the desserts are incredible. I strongly recommend: Mahaka mango shave ice, caviar egg (from tasting menu that we were able to order a la carte), and the short rib wonton. Everything was delicious, but those were standout bites!

    Shortrib and Fois Gras wontons and wagyu sliders were amazing. Would absolutely go back for appetizers and drinks. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and pleasant!

    Delicious steak cooked perfectly! Mushroom medley was unique and taste. Chunks of lobster in the bisque. Worth the $$$$

    Second time at 2 different restaurants now when I use open table they give me the worst table. I think I'm done as I entertain business guests and it starts the meal off wrong getting the worst table (right next to the entrance also right next to bar).

    MW is one of my favorite restaurants in Honolulu. Everything on the menu is thoughtful and inventive—standouts include the ahi tuna nachos, miso butterfish, ribeye, and mochi-encrusted tofu with somen. And Michelle’s desserts are not to be missed: the mango shave ice, lilikoi brulée, and ice cream candy bars are whimsical, delicious, and so aesthetically presented! Love supporting this talented husband-wife team and their creative take on local flavors.

    We had an incredible dinner at MW. From the perfectly balanced cocktails to the inventive and delicious food, it was a great experience. We were there to celebrate a birthday while on vacation and from the number of parties also receiving a complimentary dessert with candle, it’s clear that MW is a special occasion favorite. Shout out the Darren for providing excellent service and spot on suggestions

    Always look forward to the summer Makaha mango dessert! For starters, it's the usual, Caesar salad and beef brisket entree for me, Mrs. Cheng's tofu for my husband. Can't miss. Service is efficient and friendly without being intrusive. Always a favorite restaurant of ours!

    MW Restaurant is our favorite place to dine at for a special occasion or a treat. The staff is professional, welcoming and great at keeping track of all tables where they are needed. The food is absolutely fresh and delicious, presented beautifully in what we call an "Asian-fusion" style. We will be back again soon.

    Making the reservation was a hassle… Getting to the valet parking was a hassle… After getting the cold beer and appetizer, it was all good. And from there, it only got BETTER! Big MAHALO to our waiter Mike. He took great care of us. His supporting cast of characters were equally professional and very much appreciated. We’ll definitely be back!
