Very good tasting food, professional service, and beautifully presented.
Service was very good, waiters attended on us like upscale staff. The waiter we had sounded very scripted though, didn't seem authentic.
Wonderful experience - the food is delicious and interesting(different combinations - very well done). The service is great and very welcoming. Try it!
Perfect. Attentive service, great menu, great execution.
Here for an anniversary dinner. MW provides excellent food at fair prices. You wouldn’t think so from the outside. Pretty nondescript exterior. We started out with fried chicken, pressed and prepared like pressed Chinese duck. Tasty and crispy. We also had Unagi and butterfish arancini bills which were rich and crisply fried. The butterfish roulade was generous with overtones of truffle oil on a perfectly prepared portion. Dried scallops were perfectly grilled with tender meat and a crisp sealed top, served over a buttery orzo risotto. Their desserts included a lilikoi créme brûlée, banana bread pudding and a special chocolate dobash cake and chocolate bar complimentary for the anniversary. Overall, highly recommended.
Great food, exceptional service. Do not judge it by the building.
Tiffany our waitress was wonderful, friendly engaging. Food was amazing!
The food is creative, wonderfully presented and delicious. The staff is knowledgeable and very attentive. We went for a birthday and it was a wonderful time
A foodie friend recommended MW restaurant. Definitely did not disappoint! Service was great and friendly. The food was incredible. I had a full course that included an Oyster Amuse Bouche, Mochi Crusted Kamachi, Seafood Chowder and a deconstructed Banana Cream Pie. The fish was AMAZING...crispy and crunchy mocha crust on the outside and yummy, flaky fish on the inside. My brother had the Seafood Paella which he totally devoured. It was my birthday so I got a beautifully decorated piece of decadent chocolate cake -- it had different textues and a great chocolate but not overly sweet flavor. Cant wait to come back and try other things on the menu! The venue itself is clean and airy and it also feels comfortable and non-intimidating. I would definitely recommend MW to everyone I know!
Dined here our first night in Honolulu and was truly impressed with all the flavors we experienced with our meal and the incredible wait staff -
The food was surprisingly good. My vegan friend raved at her crusted tofu dish; whereas, I thoroughly enjoyed my butterfish dish, I would return again.
Prix Fixe meal is a great value
The waiter seemed annoyed at even telling us about the menu. The ambiance was odd - like in an all white hospital cafeteria. The food was average.
Incredible inventive menu that not only had a great selection of appetizers and main courses but also a large dessert selection that was incredibly original that greatly impressed me which is hard to do as a former pastry chef.
Good food and services. But no kids menus.Fair prices.
My husband and I went for a late lunch, which we were seated right away. Although the place was full of people the noise level was reasonable. I would have liked some quite background music, but since it was my first time there and lunch, I would hope dinner time would be accompanied by music.
Our waiter was polite and made suggestion on wine and on the different fish dishes on the menu.
My husband started with a Cesar salad while I had the crab cakes. May I say the cake cakes were served with a hot and spicy relish that was a bit overwhelming so I didn’t get to fully enjoy the crab flavor.
For our main course my husband had the miso Honey glazed butterfish which he fully enjoyed it. I was recommended by our waiter to try the signature Mochi crusted monchong-sickle pomfret/ fish dish. It was fabulously delicious with a crunchy crust with cold somen noodles. Both fish dishes were a do over!
For desert they were out of two of the choices so my husband opted for coffee only while I tried the strawberry “shave ice”. It was ok-different but had no strawberries even though in the description said strawberries twice and I saw some on another tables desert.
I wished there had been something with chocolate but wasn’t any for lunch anyways.
We would return again to MW but maybe for dinner so we could try some other choices then lunch had.
A little hard to hear soft spoken guest, but great food and everyone enjoyed their meal!
We always enjoy dining at MW. The food is so creative and consistent. The service is always excellent as well. We're glad that MW has many gluten-free options, too.
Sophisticated atmosphere and dishes.
Ahi poke and fish in the main were great. If I point out one thing, miso used in egg plant was too sweet. Less sweet miso would be better.
Thanks for your hospitality.
Excellent service and wonderful hawaiian fusion...love the butterfish and shaved ice!
If there are time restrictions with reservation it should be shared way in advance or a courtesy call made.
Details of time restrictions should not be made upon arrival as this ruins the overall dining experience.
If I had known time limitation, I would have picked another dining venue given the nature of my occasion.
Having the clock ticking did not lead to a pleasurable dining experience.
We had an excellent time! The food was extremely good and creatively presented. The service was great too. Will definitely come back!
Service started off bad then got better.
Delicious food and the service was great! Definitely going there again next trip
I loved everything about this place! The food is fresh, innovative, thoughtful! Drinks and dessert the same. Staff was attentive and knowledgeable, and the timing of dishes was spot on! A very memorable meal! We will definitely be back.
The service and food went beyond our expectations!! Highly recommended.
We've been to MW many times before. They had a special holiday menu. Food took super long to come out. The Paella was kind of catsup-y. The short ribs were tender and tasty. The fried okra with the black pepper sauce was not good. Tasted like salty, corn starch syrup with lots of black pepper. The foie gras was not worth the $22 price for a single small piece. The caesar salad also unremarkable. Loved the lilikoi dessert! Crab cakes were good, but sauce tasted like it came from a bottle.
My go-to restaurant in Honolulu. Fabulous food and service, always great, never disappointed. Great bartenders as well. I requested a drink they used to make but was off-menu. They didnt have all the same ingredients but said they would try to come close. NAILED IT!!! Pleasurable to the max.
Tastes like food court quality and flavors.
Daren provided awesome service! He was attentive yet not over-bearing. Made sure we had everything needed. I would definitely ask for him again. The food was PERFECT as always!
One of the best resturants in Honolulu
Our waiter Jamie was excellent. The noise level when we arrived was a bit loud but that is expected it was prime lunchtime. By the time we received our entree's most of the people had finished and the noise had subsided. Our waiter Jamie did not rush us and his timing was perfect.
Enjoyed the food and service, especially the accommodations that our server, Eric, made. I scored the restaurant’s ambiance in the middle range because on all of our past visits, I personally have felt that the “vacant” wall can use some artwork or decor. We have a good number of really good artists, and that wall can surely use their talent to be showcased.
The steamed onaga was good, rib eye steak cooked to precision however prefer au jus versus heavy cream sauce over the steak. The dining room is small with little dining privacy unless sitting in the booth table. We liked to return to try other entrees and decide if we like chef's recommendations.
Great experience as always! The food was worth the dollars spent! Service was excellent!
Fantastic food and service! Parking at lunch time is tough...
Locally sourced ingredients.
Great service provided by Dion.
Our server Dione (spelling)? Was such a delightful gentleman. He explained everything in detail!! We really enjoyed ourselves and will come back!!
One of the best dining experiences in my life. Every single aspect of it was superb. I have dined there a few times before, and I can say that the excellence is consistent from visit to visit.
Order anything on the menu. We had : Ahi poke, ahi poke nachos, pork bao buns, fried chicken, persimmon salad special, scallops special, short ribs, eggplant and okra. My favorite dessert was the strawberry shave ice. Sitting on a concoction of haupia and mochi. Dining at MW is a sublime experience I highly recommend it.
