My wife and I went to Murphy’s for our first anniversary. They had a card signed by the staff waiting for us at the table. The food was superb! Muscles were some of the best I have had and the salmon was equally as good. They gave us a small desert to celebrate the occasion. His is another shining example as to why they are one of our favorite places to dine.
The food is outstanding. Our server was somewhat apathetic. Drinks were slow to arrive. When our main course was being served our empty appetizer plates were still at the table. I was so surprised since every other time I have been at Murphy's the service has been impeccable.
Our meal was delicious! The street corn is to die for and lobster roll hit the spot!
This is on the old reliable list.Consistent quality and service. Our group of seven had a great meal and family gathering. We had an early reservation (5:30) as we had plans to head down to Ponce City Market for rooftop drinks and fun.It worked out really well to avoid dinner crowds at Ponce and eat at Murphy's first.Mark did a great job with his attention to service.
I love how the restaurant made our dining experience personal based on knowing it was our anniversary from the reservation. The entire time they were attentive and friendly to us.
Had a really nice evening. Celebrated our 10th anniversary here. Had elote and the calamari appetizers.
For dinner we had the scallop special and a shrimp with pasta dish. Very tasty and fresh. The staff at Murphy’s acknowledged our anniversary with a card placed on our table and a nice dessert on tha House. Our server was good, helpful with suggestions and info about food options. Thanks, Murphy’s!!
The food was fantastic! The service was surprisingly poor for Murphy's. I've been here many times and this visit was unique. We came at lunchtime, but were mistakenly given a dinner menu. Our server took our drink orders and it took over 20 minutes to get iced tea! 15 minutes later, I had to flag him down and ask if we could please order. About 20 minutes after that, he stopped by to ask if we'd like to hear about the specials! I told him no and asked if he could please put in our order. About 20 minutes later- food arrived! It was wonderful as always- almost worth the over-an-hour wait. Maybe just an off day? I've never had a bad experience before at Murphy's.
Can't beat Murphy's for any occasion, great food and service, friendly casual comfortable enjoyable!
I’ve always had good experiences at Murphy’s. This time, not so much. The cold potato and leek soup (vichyssoise) was good, the avocado toast was odd. It had a topping of fish roe which was clearly stated on the menu description but it didn’t add the saltiness I expected. All it added was an unwelcome fishy taste. I’ve had fish roe with sushi but will skip it on my avocado toast from now on.
Wonderful food, drink, and atmosphere.
My choice for a dinner club I’m in. Everyone enjoyed the food the dinks were ok. Overall a great place
We’ve eaten at Murphy’s a number of times before, and they’ve always been excellent experiences. This time was our first lunch experience. The service was phenomenal and so was the food. On top of it, we were celebrating my mother‘s birthday. Not only did they give her a signed card (signed by the staff, which we thought was a really classy touch by the way), but after the meal, they also brought out a sweet and delicious dessert with a burning candle on top. We will undoubtedly be back many more times. Thank you, Murphy’s for making it a very special and memorable birthday meal for my mom.
Food was fantastic! One very, very small recommendation. We ordered an appetizer, a salad, and a meal. We were hoping to enjoy our food slowly, but everything came out so quickly, we practically had all three at almost the same time. We ate the appetizer and then the salad, but by the time we got to the main meal (meat), it was a bit cold. Still delicious, even when it was cold, but just recommend waiting to serve main meal until after appetizer and salad are done. Was a bit rushed.
Lovely time with my wife. The waiter was very friendly and helpful
Met my sister on Monday night for wine and dinner. We had a delicious bottle of French Rose (which was half off!!!), and I had a flavorful salmon dish, while my Sis had the lobster roll. The food was divine, and our waiter provided exceptional service. We were very pleased and will dine at Murphy's again!
Murphy's is always a good bet. In 25 years in Atlanta, I've never been disappointed in Murphy's. The menu is lovely, the food is generous, fresh, thoughtfully prepared, often seasonal, and the selection is updated often enough to keep things interesting. The service is professional and gracious, and the setting is lovely yet casual at the same time. It's always a treat to dine at Murphy's.
Consistently great food. Knowledgeable, helpful service
Wonderful Atlanta mainstay. My wife had trout with a beurre blanc sauce, I had sea scallops. Wonderful service from Cici. We will be back.
I would have given a much higher score for food but I was disappointed with the seared tuna salad, which I normally love. Some of the tuna was well done where it should have been rare and the lettuce was drenched in dressing.
The salmon entree and featured dish of scallops and squash were delicious, as well as the grilled artichoke appetizer. The key lime pie was to die for.
Service was wonderful, as always, and the porch area was delightful.
Our lunch at Murphy’s was great. We sat outside because it was such pleasant weather. My friend and I both thoroughly enjoyed our mango chicken salads. I’d never been for lunch but will be back!
Visiting friends in Atlanta.
Good place to enjoy catching up with friends.
Will come again when in Atlanta.
Murphy’s delivered, as expected. I was celebrating the birthday of a woman I recently met, and I desperately needed to make a good impression. She enjoyed the food, the atmosphere, and the mature, tasteful, subtle birthday celebration. We had a great time. I think (hope) I “scored” a few points. Time will tell :-)
I went for a first date and Emily went out of her way to help me. Service was excellent and Juanita is a gem!!
Lula was pleasant and very knowledgeable. She provided great insight on menu items. The food was delicious and enjoyed by all. The birthday card signed by the staff members along with the dessert treats delivered for our 2 recipients was an added benefit. The service seemed a little slow at times but worth the wait.
Stopped in for a bite to eat and this was my second time dining here and I must say it was just as great an experience as this first time. Our server, Mark, was so sweet and I loved that he offered up suggestions and the dishes he enjoyed the most. Great food and even better service!
I have been to Murphy's many times. It is always wonderful. I can't wait to go back again.
The ambiance is wonderful for both lunch and dinner. The food is simply delicious. Great cocktails.
Very good!! Great food and service. Little noisy, and pricey for lunch.
Murphy's is our #1 place to eat every time we come to Atlanta either for business or to visit friends and family. It also a great place to take your Emory student for an outstanding meal. The food, wines, and beverages are always top notch. The Cheese Course is a family favorite and along with the Georgia Shrimp, Guinness Beef Ribs, the house specials. Sit in the back for a quite place to talk. Any place you sit is well worth the trip as the service is always excellent. You cannot match the wine selection and the price point is never over the top. We have been to Murphy's including this past weekend 16x's and we have never been disappointed by the food or service. So if you come to Atlanta or just want a place the will satisfy even a NYC Foodie like me and my team. Murphy's is a place you must visit and it will be your go-to-place like it is for us.
Great food and great service. A fun time was had by all out 6 guests.
We have come here several times. The food is outstanding, the staff is always so friendly and they welcome kids. Can't say enough good things about it!
Murphy's is my favorite, but Thurs. was not top notch. The seating was in thw way of the party room, the soup wasn't served correctly, and the waiter tried his best. Maybe he was new.
Great dinner! Everything was spot on. Mussels, Caesar, Brisket, etc. All delicious
Favorite restaurant in Atlanta!
Great little neighborhood restaurant, bar, and bakery. Nice cozy décor, great food and craft drinks, and good service. Nice little find. You do need to use valet parking there due to lack of space.
Excellent evening celebrating my husbands (Anthony)birthday with friends who are foodies and wine drinkers! Loved the Anthony and Dominic (our friends name) Pinot Noir! We even took some home!
Murphy’s has never disappointed! With an exceptional menu of very interesting entrees, there is something for even the most discriminating foodie. Likewise, there is a robust window menu. I have noticed more and more “large” groups, which I find takes away from the unique ambience of the restaurant.
A neighborhood favorite. Always a good choice for a fun, non-chain restaurant experience.
We love Murphys and always have a great experience there!
