Your menu continues to be outstanding; there is something for everyone. All the food was generous, well plated and very good. The only short-fall was too much salt (way too much salt!) on the protein, the potatoes, and the salad dressings. Not only does so much salt take away from the tasted of the food, but it can be unhealthy for many of your diners. We had the trio dessert: that was really outstanding, especially for the price.
Wonderful brunch /breakfast. Served in a great room with attentive staff. Thanks Tom Murphy
We were celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary. We went to Murphy’s on our first date. It’s a restaurant that holds great memories. The food and service are consistent and good.
The food is always at least good and frequently very good.
I have never had a bad meal at Murphy's! It has been one of my favorite restaurants since the nineties!
Great as always! The brisket sandwich was excellent.
Always great. In Napa now and no duck or chicken dish here compares to what we get at Murphy’s.
I have been a customer of Murphy's for over 30 years. Although the restaurant has changed over the years, the quality has always been a constant. For years it has been our standard for special occasions and more.
Beautiful Mother’s Day dinner, my mother has been going to Murphy’s for many years and it has always been one of our favorites. Can’t wait to go back!
Patio lovely for Mother’s Day Dinner. Our companions from Italy found their ribeye steaks perfect. My trout dinner excellent. And we could not pass up the trio of desserts. Just as we had hoped for.
Great as always. Tom Murphy’s believes in healthy fresh food at a reasonable price.
The best service and consistent food in Atlanta with great ambience
Love this restaurant so so much. Every time I bring someone from out to town they say it’s the best place we got food!
Highly sought after but quite mediocre experience.
Very good wait staff, but each and every entree lack luster - there was no amount of salt, pepper, and lemon juice available to resurrect the trout (regular on the menu) or special halibut, from being anything other than bland and tasteless. Steak entree overcooked. Caesar salad under dressed and basically tasteless. Wine price point quite high. In a city of upcoming restaurants, I'm afraid Murphy's is lost on tradition and the fact that it's a trendy and comfortable dining neighborhood. I'm sorry to have to write this review.
Paymon was incredible! We knew it was going to be a fun lunch from the moment he introduced himself. The way he described the decedent menu options was unparalleled. I was sold on the soft shell crab he described, and the meal did not disappoint. We had a wonderful experience and Paymon was nothing short of spectacular. Thanks Paymon!
I took my fiancé for our first time ever at Murphy’s, and it was amazing! Our waitress was so helpful and knowledgeable about EVERYTHING. Every recommendation she made was a 10/10. We will definitely be back to explore the menu in greater detail.
Excellent food, good variety deliciously prepared. Great service. Lovely ambiance.
Parking a challenge: We saw signs for Valet but perhaps they are only there in the evening. Our choices were one of the very limited number of spaces in front of the restaurant, street parking or a walk to a large parking area down a steep hill and behind the buildings on the opposite corner.
Meeting with a mentee. Every aspect of the dining experience was wonderful.
Overall, this was a nice place for a date. I do not think the food was extraordinary, but it was not horrible. It had a nice vibe to it and an extensive wine list. I would recommend trying this place out.
Best black and bleu steak salad on the A!!
Great experience consistently - Menu is always delicious and the service excellent.
Great staff. Awesome food, as usual. It’s one of my go-to spots in Atlanta
Continued excellence after multiple visits.
It was very pleasant
A dinner out with four ladies. No one rushed us at all, and we were allowed to chat to our hearts' content.
We had a pleasant meal outside on the patio on a nice spring day. We started with charred artichokes with a lemon Aomori. The Brussels sprouts and bacon flatbread was amazing. The wine selection is good and not too pricey. Our entree we shared was a delicate fish with grits. Definitely recommend the Dessert Trio to finish, with the toll house being the central amazing treat.
The four of us had wonderful dishes for lunch and Brie was a great and attentive server. Would like to see more dairy-free options for dessert. Overall, we enjoyed the quality of food and service.
Great place in Virginia Highland. Friendly staff, great food and drinks. Perfect for a night out with family and friends!
We thoroughly enjoyed the menu (Beet salad, chicken salad, soup of the day/tortilla) and drinks....even saw the chef photographing the brunch special for next day. Farm to table vegetables beautifully prepared and presented. Our server was excellent!
I’ve been going to Murphy’s for so long, I consider it an Atlanta institution. It is an old faithful - always looks and feels the same, and I love that. The food seems a little expensive, and I prefer the tollhouse pie a little warmer than it was served this time, but it is always good overall. In addition to the great location, overall consistency, and the fact you can actually hear each other/ carry on a conversation, the windows and bright, natural light are a bonus and part of why I always prefer it for lunch.
We sat outside on very nice patio and the noise level was quite
high. I had duck confit and it was “okay” a little fatty. The grit cake it came with was fabulous.
My companions had salads with fish and they enjoyed. Help with wine selection was excellent and it was 1/2 off a bottle night. Nice!!
I love their Brisket Sandwich and salad lunch during the week and I love their Brunch on the weekends. I also like their nonalcoholic and alcoholic selections. This is the place I always take anyone who comes into town.
Murphy's was always my go-to for brunch when I moved to Atlanta in 2012. However, the quality of food seems to have gone down significantly over the last couple of years. I keep wanting to give it another chance, but my visit for brunch last Saturday will be my last. There are other great spots for weekend brunch now, and I would rather take my business somewhere consistently great--not somewhere where the waiter kept serving mediocre food while telling us how lucky we were to be eating brunch at Murphy's.
The wine service as usual was excellent with the proper glasses and perfect temperature. I wish more restaurants would follow this example given what a good bottle of wine costs. I had the new charred goat cheese appetizer which was excellent along with scallop special. The food here just never disappoints and is one of the reason we are such loyal guests.
The food was delicious. Our waiter was charming and helpful; service was perfect. Love the space - very conducive to good conversation. Overall great experience.
Second visit. Had lunch. Great food, interesting menu choices. Very good service. Wish I lived closer!
As always. Good food, good service and pleasant surroundings
Another lovely meal at Murphys with friends visiting from UK. Our neighborhood favorite - always reliable brunch, lunch dinner - rain or shine!
