Paige treated us so well - she even remembered us from the last time we visited the restaurant a few months ago. Thank you!
Amazing! Always love going to Mud Hen Water, whether it be for brunch or dinner.
Creative and tasty farm to table dishes. Always a good time!
Great food. Great vibes. Good friends. Make a reservation to grab a bench out in the patio and don't forget to try one of Hen's house cocktails...the mixologist behind the bar creates magic.
I'm so happy that this place reopened. The food is always delicious. The menu is creative with unexpected combinations but always excellent. The service is unfailing on point - friendly and attentive without being obtrusive.
Mud Hen Water is my second home. I love everything they stand for. They walk their talk.
As always excellent food and service. Great Covid precautions as well
My boyfriend and I just moved to the area and thought we’d check this place out after a few friends recommended it. Delicious craft cocktails and fancy little bites. Outdoor seating area was lovely, and the service was impeccable. Bailey, the hostess, was so sweet and chatted with us at our table for a bit and welcomed us to the neighborhood. It seems as if they’re taking all the right precautions for COVID as well. We will definitely be back!
Unexpectedly had a good time. I wish the food portions were a little larger.
Amazing food and cocktails, perfect outdoor setting
Great experience for a birthday dinner
Mud Hen Water was recommended by a friend and it didn't disappoint. The indoor/outdoor patio seating was perfect with a nice breeze blowing but far enough off the street to not be bothered by it. The food was interesting, clever, different, and delicious. The tasting menu for $35 was well worth it and a bottle of Prosecco for only another $35 was really on point for quality and quantity. Plus, there was 3 desserts! Some tasting menus skimp on the highlights but this one definitely delivered. We can't wait to go back and spend another magical evening dining with friends! I wish I could give it 6 stars!
One of the best places for modern Hawaii cuisine. Love the creativity and local produce in every dish!
Exceptional service, atmosphere, and food. Only complaint is that the same cocktail we ordered changed considerably between the first and second round.
Wonderful, unique flavors at a reasonable price in an airy stylish environment
It is always a wonderful experience.... It is my second home.
Mudhen is more delightful, innovative Ed. Kenny. The food is delicious and interesting though the menu is a little slim. The decor is funky fun and spacious for pandemic safe eating. Highly recommend!
We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience last night. Everyone from the host to our waitress to the bar tender! So friendly! The food was exceptional too.Being our first time there we asked the girls for recommendations. All of their recommendations were spot on! The beet poke which I didn’t think would be amazing was surprisingly yummy! We also had the lemongrass sausage and clams, and if we weren’t full enough we would have definitely ordered another, it was that good! The fried chicken with all the delicious condiments rounded out our meal. Even with a limited menu, what they did keep were just the best. We will definitely be back as the food was so addicting. Hats off to the chef as well.
We love sitting out on the patio, with the dog, watching the world go by and eating an eclectic Sunday Brunch.
Lovely people working here, everyone is very friendly
It was my wife’s birthday and we had been hesitant to go out to for a sit down dinner in these Covid times, but decided to give it a shot. The place was sparkly clean, and the indoor sitting - where we sat, was very spread out and they have such good safety rules in place that we felt we felt very much at ease. The food was spectacular as always. If you’ve been wondering about dine-in at a favorite local spot, this is it! Reservations only! And give yourself time cause with the limited sitting, they go fast!
We went there to celebrate my clients purchase of a new property. They sat us outside, and it was a lovely atmosphere. The waitress was very attentive, and we tried many new dishes that I have not ever experienced.
This is a very unique restaurant, and very flavorful.
It’s definitely worth a try!
The family style menu for $35/person is the best deal. You get to try at least 7 of their menu items, including dessert. I love Mud!
Everything we ordered was delicious, the staff was friendly and helpful, and our overall dining experience was so good that we’re already planning to return.
It was our first time to MHW and our first dine-in experience since restaurants have been allowed to open amid Covid-19. The service was very good, pleasant and helpful. MHW was diligent in its safe practices; they even had it all spelled out in a handout. Everything was tasty. We especially liked the Sausage and Clams. We were just the two of us and deliberately ordered only 3 dishes initially, as the table for two is quite small. When we were done with the 3 dishes, we ordered two more.
Amazing food, service and ambiance. Very clean and felt extremely comfortable dinning out and the staff attention to social distancing with tables spaced out. Mahalo for a great night!
Fantastic experience...definitely will come back. Out server was exceptional...he made our guest of honor a Tutu’s payday drink. I felt safe..the bathrooms clean. enough space between tables. Also the breeze was nice coming through....
This place was wonderful. From the lighting and vibe all the way to the food. Thank you.
We love every visit ! Local ingredients, great service.
It’s our favorite place. We sure missed u!! It was really nice to see Loreana and Bailey. And Dill was a great Server.
Excellent food and service. So wonderful to be able to go out and eat. The staff was incredible.
Mud Hen Water’s Sunday Brunch is so unique. The menu items are unique to this restaurant with its Hawaiian twist on classic brunch items and special Hawaiian fusion plates. I get the pork sisig which is fatty pig head in a sizzling skillet with rice and pickled veggies. It’s amazing with kimchi and some hawaiian sea salt! So umami and hearty!
We are so happy MHW is open again! We missed you!
Casual dining with some nice, unique dishes. Open air seating is a plus.
In post-SIP Honolulu, Mud Hen Water is an ideal option for dining out. They carefully follow safety/health guidelines and staff are very mindful. The outdoor patio is perfect social distancing dining room! Also, they are one of the few restaurants in Honolulu to welcome dogs (thanks to that outdoor space). We celebrated our dog's 10th birthday there, and it was a great experience. The food? The menu is as good as ever, and some old chestnuts appear new and improved. Mahalo Mud Hen Water! We'll be back with our masks!
Phenomenal, unexpected, wonderful experience. Great food, wonderful staff. The Beet Poke, buttered 'Ulu, and fried chicken were off the charts delicious.
The flavors we experienced were like nothing we have had before. We love the fact that this business supports local growers and suppliers. What a tremendous find in Kaimuki!
We will be back!
This is my second time in less than a week. I love this place. They had a new art installation, so I had to go and check it out. And they have a wonderful Family Style dinner special that is a steal. $35/person
In order to recover from COVID19 shut down and for kitchen workers to receive fair compensation, this restaurant imposed a surcharge of 3% to the total bill. As a regular patron to restaurants motivated to support local businesses, I felt compelled to give more increasing the surcharge from $1.28 to $5.00 as a part of the economic recovery efforts. Mahalo and Best Wishes!
It was the perfect restaurant to get my "after quarantine" legs sturdy again. I was dreaming about dinner there during quarantine, and the entire experience was thoroughly delicious.
Mud Hen Water was pleasantly surprising. It certainly surpassed my expectations! Will definitely return when I'm back in town.
