The food and service were excellent. One of best Caesar salads I've had. Brooke, our server knew the menu and the wines. She made excellent recommendations. This was our first time to the restaurant and we enjoyed the experience.

What an unexpected find in a small town of Idaho Springs! As nice as a Denver restaurant. I definitely will be back.

Hand down the best prime rib I've had anywhere. Great place with great food, a lot of places claim they have NE Claim Chowda but growing in NH there are few places (if any) that can actually claim this. MTN Prime does have some of the best claim chowder outside of New England..

The food was AMAZING. Crab cakes, stuffed, perfectly crisp. To die for. Moscow mule strong and delish we will be coming back again next year! Bring$$$ but worth every penny. Yummn

This place is amazing. My wife and I loved the apps and the elk stew. Both of our rib eyes were cooked perfectly. We had them both prepared differently. The crab cake preparation was delicious. The cognac peppercorn with mushrooms was my favorite though. We ordered a Tuscana but they were out of that selection which was about $45 per bottle. The manager brought us a different $100 tuscana as a replacement but only charged us the $45 price of the first bottle. The service was great. Very nice atmosphere quiet and easy to enjoy our selves . Definitely the best place in Idaho Springs. We will be back

We randomly found this place and are SO happy we did. Everything was scratch made and so good. Possibly the best wedge salad I’ve ever had. Great prime rib sandwich. Great steaks, yummy dry rub wings, great friendly server and hostess. We will be back. Totally worth stopping or making the drive for!!

A gem in Idaho Springs! Spent our family New Years Day dinner there and it was perfect. Best prime rib I’ve had in years! Variety of excellent choices, including sides that you normally don’t see like risotto. Wonderful desserts too! Able to make reservations which was appreciated. Free parking on street and around the corner, easy to get to. Cozy but open, nice decor and very clean. Highly recommend!

I had booked a 7PM reservation for New Year's Eve. We got up there early and unexpectedly had young grandchildren with us. Everything else in town was closed except Beau Jo's Pizza, so we went into MTN early to could see if we could get in. It wasn't very busy so we got in. The whole front window section was empty, but they sat us at a table right next to the front door (it was 2 degrees or less outside!) The hostess was less than enthused to be there and acted so incredibly bored the entire time we were there, as she was right in our line of site. Our server was ok, but also less than enthused to be there and was very short on conversation. He was almost argumentative while we were trying to order. It was quite a wait to get the food even though they weren't too busy. Food was good but nothing stellar for the $. We had the prime rib and trout. It's a nice place but I don't think it's upscale like they try to put on.

Always great food and service. Highly recommend!

The burgers were so juicy!

We had the prime rib and they were outstanding! A little noisy but not a big deal since it is an old historic building with high ceilings. The historical value does ad to the ambiance!

A gem in the mountains, one of my favorite stops on 70 for a well priced delicious meal.

The Thanksgiving meal was nothing to write home about. For our entire meal the buffet line was unattended. Food spilled everywhere. Pies tasted like they were bought off the shelf. Next year we will do Golden Corral. Server was top notch and very attentive. I think even a little embarrassed.

Visited for Thanksgiving to take advantage of the buffet offered on that day. Service was terrible - 15 min to take our order (to use the buffet), no drink menu on the table, wine selection is poor and the waitress did not know what was and was not in stock. The buffet was unmanned and we waited until someone could be found to carve the turkey. I don't know if we came during shift change, if the staff weren't happy to be there on the holiday or what was going on, but we won't be back.

Understaffed at the dinner rush

I was disappointed with this restaurant. I made reservations for my 50th birthday. They didn’t have the steak we wanted available and the one I ordered was undercooked. The place was almost empty so we felt rushed through dinner. Our server was very nice but the experience was lacking overall. Not the birthday experience I was hoping for.

Service was terrible, had to wait 20 minutes before the server even came over to greet us and take out drink order, another 20 minutes to get the drinks, food came out fairly ok on time but was average in my opinion for the money. We did go on a week night, so I think they were very light on staff. But we were really excited to try this place based on all the great reviews, and it was a big let down.

We enjoyed a Saturday night dinner and found it to be a great atmosphere, very good food, and a fun location. I certainly recommend it as a stop for a great bit to eat and location!

Terrible reaction from Management & the Owner, no

My wife and I had wanted to try MTN Prime for many months, and we finally did it. It was excellent. I really enjoyed my cocktail (Boulevardier) and meal (Caesar salad and Beef Stroganoff). My only pick is that the Caesar does not come with anchovies, but the dressing tasted good anyway. The beef Stroganoff was superb, very flavorful and the meat was tender. My wife enjoyed her meal very much, as well. Service was attentive and our waitress was friendly and personable. Highly recommended and worth the trek to Idaho Springs.

Great food. Great server. My only complaint is the timing. We were half way through the appetizer when the salad arrived. Just started the salad when the entree arrived. Felt a bit rushed.

Hands down our favorite place in Idaho Springs

This was the first time we had visited this restaurant in Idaho Springs. Our waitress was pleasant, patient, and went out of her way to help us redeem a gift certificate. My husband ordered the beef stroganoff which was excellent. I had a mountain chopped salad with a sirloin steak. I wasn't as thrilled with my meal but that was mostly jealousy at how good his meal was! I made up with a triple chocolate mousse (which I did share.)

Idaho Springs and MTN Prime are a great destination in the mountains.

I was disappointed. I took my teenage son out for a dinner while vacationing in Idaho Springs. We barely got spoken too, waited for service and on server argued with me on taking a salad that had 2 dressings. Food was plain and ok. If the service would have been better, Not sure I would have taken the time to write a review. It was not a pleasant experience at all.

Fun spot in downtown Idaho Springs. It seems the place gives priority to walk-ins over reservations. We asked for a table by the window in advance but they gave it to a walk-in group after we arrived.

Great steaks and salads, but — for a steak place — the list of red wines by the glass left something to be desired.

Strip steak was under seasoned and bland, veggie plate came drowning in a teriyaki sauce, drink service was slow.

However the clam chowder was on point and the scallops were a well above average. This is a seafood restaurant and not a steak house, go in knowing that and your experience will benefit.
