As such, Ms. Yoo, named after Choi’s grandmother Jungok Yoo who taught her how to cook, is the culinary reverse of Choi’s mokbar eateries in Chelsea Market and Brooklyn, where authentic Korean food is infused with American accents. Still, like them, Ms. Yoo represents Choi’s ongoing campaign to encourage Americans to savor the Korean food and culture she so passionately embraces.

Really fun spot with club-like feels and amazing food. The drinks could have been stronger and I wish there was more spacing between courses, but overall the staff was attentive and the music was great.
Went with a date for a early dinner, and the place was a bit empty. The waiter was nice but seemed to be slow in terms of servicing us for the food that we ordered and waiting for the check took forever. The food itself was very mediocre except for the wings. The bimibap was very soupy and its not the kind of bimibap that I'm used to. The decor was nice but the place is a lot smaller than the pictures, I doubt I'll be going back.
Great tasting food and great value and great service
Food was good but it was SO LOUD. As a group of only four, we had to basically scream to hear each other speak. Courses were improperly timed, some people were completely finished eating by the time others’ dishes had arrived, and they forgot about two of the things we ordered so we had to remind them.
Place has a nice designed, is comfortable, and clean. Food is Korean take on classic American staples... delicious. Staff is friendly and welcoming.
The food was good but they ran out of the entrees we really wanted to try
Went there for happy hour, the menu was really good value. The KFC wings were fantastic but some of the other dishes were abit hit and miss. Service was excellent. The waiter made a point to let us know if we want to order any more food just before happy hour was finishing.
Great food but so loud. Not for a date experience.
This place! I am so glad I discovered it. First off, the cocktails are amazing. Very unique. And the food! Oh my gosh, the food is so good. From pork buns to sashimi salad to steak frites (and so much more) everything was so good. Notable dish: kimchi fried rice with bacon and mozzarella, which comes out sizzling on a hot stone. The waitress pours egg on top at the table and mixes everything in. I cannot wait to go back and try new things, though it will be difficult to not order the exact same things.
omg loved it.
very nice bar, but a bit louder than expected considering the small number of patrons. the cocktails were well-made. food was okay. service was excellent. would return again for happy hour.
its a fun place - good fun, especially the pork buns and KFC. You can eat at bar or tables - it's quite small and they don't have many tables so worth booking in advance.
I read abiut this restaurant in one of the cooking magazines and was very excited to go there. But this place is just ok. Most food is fried and too salty. The dance music was getting louder and louder. I would not go back there, was quite disappointed.
Everything is a hit here. Second time there in a month and honestly can't wait to go back!
We were surprised to see how empty the restaurant was for a Saturday night. What was nice to though was that when a few members of our party arrived early, they seated us right away instead of making us wait. We began with drinks and cocktails from the bar which were all successfully orchestrated and fabulous. However, we can't say the same for the food.
We wanted to start off with their Shishito Peppers, only to be told that they had three large parties the night before and so they had already run out of that appetizer for the entire weekend. So instead for an appetizer we tried the Deviled Eggs and the Spiced Edamame. The Devil Eggs were a huge let down - nowhere could be find even a hint of kimchi, and the bacon that was there were packaged bacon bits... they couldn't even make their own bacon bits? As for the Spiced Edamame - you could find the exact same thing at any Japanese sushi restaurant and the would probably be better.
For our entrees, we decided to go family style and we shared the following:
1. Calamari & Squid Fries - rings of calamari deep fried in plain batter and dried Korean squid you eat as a snack covered and fried in plain batter
2. KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) - you can get better tasting and better value from your local Korean fried chicken chain
3. Tteok N' Cheese - which was a great concept ... unfortunately the cheese was gritty making for an unappetizing dish
4. Foie Gras Bibimbap - The hot stone bowl was not hot so there was no burnt rice at the bottom and where was the foie gras?
5. Steak Frites - steak cut into strips with dry taro fries and no dipping sauce
While the food was disappointing, we did have a nice server and we were served complimentary lychee shots (which were delicious) since we were celebrating a birthday. Additionally, the French atmosphere was pleasant and all of the employees from the bartenders to the bus boys were efficient.
Apart from the fried chicken and shrimp, everything else was awful. We tried the fried calamari, bone marrow, steak and fries and they were all tasteless.
Mediocre food and tacky decorations. Server was nice though.
Everything was perfect and delicious. Great portion sizes and more than enough to take home.
Food was good but not outstanding - and very rich by the end of the meal. Seemed like they were trying a bit too hard - focusing on a few key flavors would add to the meal.
Quality service. Fantastic food! Perfect portion sizes and the price is right. Restaurant looks a feels like a mini garden as soon as you enter. Will def good back!
Amazing food. Salads are incredible
Intimate space, but not overdesigned leaving an open space feeling. It was a weekday, so there werent many people dining, but everyone seemed to enjoy themselves with the mood lighting. Try the chicken for two!
Excellent food & service!
First and foremost, both the food and service there was exquisite.
The tteok and cheese was a great take on traditional tteok-bokki since my date and I both love cheese and bacon. The bone marrow was a great treat as well. Now for the main dish, the whole fried chicken with glutenous rice and home style potatoes. The chicken itself was amazing but my only issue was the size of the serving plate compared to the table and the difficulty of cutting the chicken apart in that environment due to the sliding of the chicken and plate itself on the table. I didn't terribly hate it but when they placed the sauces on the side of the table I was terribly concerned about cutting too hard into the chicken joint, causing the plate to slide, causing the sauces to come crashing down onto the floor.
But overall, Ms Yoon was a great dining experience but I think they need to re think either the table space or how the whole fried chicken is served. I would still recommend this to anyone looking to try the whole fried chicken and especially the tteok and cheese!
Beautiful place and interesting food, a little greasy, nothing traditional.
Not sure which was better, the food or the service. Our table was ready when we arrived. The woman who took care of us was so nice, we would go back just for her. The food was absolutely delicious. Overall a great night.
Experience was not great. My food came and my friend's dinner didn't come for over 10 minutes later after we asked for it.
Food was excellent, service was earnest but understaffed
The room very comfortable. The staff friendly and helpful. The drinks expert and interesting. The good portions of meticulously proffered food was a treat. Carpaccio. Fries. Marrow were terrific. The burger huge. And the salads beautifully presented and perfectly spiced and dressed.
Highly recommended. Cost quality and service must be supported.
Great vibe at this new Lower East Side gastro pub. The restaurant has a nice design and makes you feel as though you're sitting in someone's backyard. The food had great flavour. The Ms. Yoo burger is delicious! Service could be improved as we had to wait a while to be served.
Came here for my birthday. There was incredible service here at Ms Yoo! We ordered the whole roasted and stuffed chicken which was well-seasoned and succulent. Definitely order the bone marrow as well as the tteok and cheese. Our night ended with custom cocktails since they don't really do dessert. 10/10
