Solid. Very good food and service. Band was fun. Very loud place though if you are looking for quiet
Food was good and try the specials and the Bar menu. Valet parking is $6.00 plan to use it modt days and times. Roof Top is very popular. Patio behind bar is VERY LOUD as it is enclosed on all sides except up. Service was OK to SLOW, nothing special. Food was very good, but not what we were expecting often do server lack of knowledge or accuracy.
I used to love this place but over the last year or two the food and the service has really gone downhill!
Sadly as it is so close I can walk there but the last 3 times was horrible
No water or tea refills
Got my order wrong and didn’t get it back to me u til after I asked for the check!
The staff is always nice but that’s not enough for me to keep coming back and the staff is just always making excuses, that they are to busy!! Hire more staff!!!
Beautiful sunset view
Food is excellent. We always enjoy it. If you really want to talk be aware that it can be very loud because of the live music.
Pass on this one, unless you enjoy screaming at your table-mate to converse, or if you prefer being g jammed into a space no bigger than coach seating on Frontier Airlines. Noise level is off the decibel chart, and way too full of fun-seeking Lagunatics jostling for space and shrieking to be heard over the din. Did I mention it was crowded and noisy? The food was pretty good, but not worth the assault on the rest of your senses. My ears are still ringing.
Thanks for accommodating us on the rooftop - so great for brunch/lunch!
We went here for a belated birthday dinner. If the rooftop had been available I'm sure it might have been nicer but we were on the 2nd floor dining area and it was so loud we couldn't hear each other talk. The portobello appetizer was alright but half the tomatoes were not ripe. It was nice that they had wild caught fish and the sea bass was really nice and the staff was accommodating to my dietary needs. We went to a live music event after dinner in the bar which was really great however the bar is right next to the stage and was distracting and noisy and the bathrooms were on the left of the stage and the whole time we were watching the show people were parading in-and-out through the middle of the audience to go to the bathroom. All in all, would only go to this place for a rooftop drink before sunset or if I was with people wanting to watch sports on television since there are tons of TV's in the dining area.
We had dinner at Mozambique for our anniversary and enjoyed the atmosphere and food was the best in town. Very very good!
Will go back many times.
Great view and very good food. Service made it! Guy is the best!! Will return because of him
Amazing service !!
Went for the Sunday Jazz Brunch. Really enjoyed the music, although it was not actually jazz.
I think there was a drag show going on in another area. That might have been more fun!
Service was too laid back. I appreciate that they certainly did not rush us, but would have been nice to check on us a couple more times. Changed servers on us about a third of the way through. Confusing, did not know if they were working in tandem or one replaced the other.
I enjoyed the South African pie; the gravy was delish with the fries.
My friend had the brunch Tower. Looked good but the bread was too tough and impossible to cut through (microwaved?).
Hostesses and young woman answering the phone when I called to say I was running late...they were very helpful and a pleasure.
First, the sea bass dish is phenomenal! Other than that Mozambique is okay. Not sure I would recommend or return. It was very loud, hard to have a conversation at my table. The dining area I was seated in wasn't anything spectacular. Rooftop is probably nice during the day or at sunset.
We always enjoy the happy hour menu. A great Caesar salad to begin and then we switch to the regular menu and get the delicious pecorino penne pasta.
It was a cool night so we wanted to sit outside. We soon discovered we'd come to the right place. They have a roof! We had a great view of the beach and the water. It was a great start and it only got better. The service was great and so was the food. I had the New York strip which was probably one of the best strips I've had... a lot of flavor and really tender. I would have liked to have seen a better pour of my single malt, but otherwise it was a great experience. I'll definitely go back if I'm ever in town again.
Aside from the food and service being excellent, the atmosphere ranged from a relaxed bar scene on the rooftop to danceable rock on the 2nd floor and finally some killer Latin jazz in the Durban Room downstairs - this place has continued to improve!
This is our first time here. The food was good but it was extremely overpriced. Unfortunately I won't be back because of this.
Good ambiance, not so great service, food average
The best place to be for watching the sunset while having and amazing meal, the variety of the cocktails could be better and less boring though
Food, Ambiance, View, Attentive Service, Great Valet Parking (watch the front end of your Supercar on the steep driveway entrance), and $29.99 Lobster Special before 7PM is amazing. Great cocktails too.
I loved the food here. I loved the ambiance. The only thing that I didn’t like was that we were standing on the second floor next to a “ wait to be seated sign” for over 8 minutes without anyone helping us. There was no host. The waiters would just pass by us and not say anything. Until someone with a blue button up shirt I’m assuming a manager asked us if we had been helped and we kindly said NO. We were seated promptly after that and the food came out quick. We we’re starving.
Chicken skewers in the Peri Peri sauce were very tasty. I had Caesar salad and added steak. Very fresh ingredients. Both salads were over dressed. Waitress got more greens for my guest. Excellent server. Be sure and check out the exotic birds!
We came here for the Lobster special which was very good. we also got a sampler which I believe in clue is sausage, chicken, shrimp and some kind of pastry. I was disappointed in this sampler as a chicken was well over cooked and dry. It was disappointing for the price of the dish. The service was good and I did enjoy the dinner over all.
Amazing rooftop views only added to the delicious unique flavors of fish chicken and steak dishes
Unique cuisine, exotic birds, notable views, mostly pleasant staff,
The seafood curry and the Durban curry were exquisite!
We are in a rut. We have the same thing every time because it’s so good! We get the Caesar salad which is very fresh and light. Then we get the penne pasta which is very tasty. When we are more adventurous we enjoy the chicken peri peri which is spicy and good with wonderfully flavorful rice.
The service was terrible, it took At least 30 minutes before our order was taken. It took another hour and 15 minutes before we received our food. We were promised complementary desserts by the manager as he apologized for the bad service and extremely long wait. However we never received deserts. We walked out after finally being able to pay our full price ticket. 2.5 hrs total. Ridiculous!
Service was bad. The waiter mixed up our order and gave our 15 year a glass of wine. Food was very good. The view was great!
FLAVORED ICE TEA WAS A LITTLE BLAND, MY FRIEND HAD TO ORDER A STEAK KNIFE TO CUT HER MEAT PIE, REGULAR KNIVES WERE NOT TOO SHARP, GREAT VIEW GOOD AMBIANCE, OVERALL WAS GOOD AND WE HAD A VERY LEISURELY LUNCH AND CHIT-CHAT, LOVED THE PARROTS!
I loved the music the DJ played! I honestly wish this was being played on the second floor where my friends and I could have danced instead. The sea food curry was outstanding. The only issue was that I made a reservation and the hostess did not hear me say that I had a reservation. She was telling us about the DJ and the band and marked us as a no show in open table. Other than that it was amazing.
We sat on the rooftop dining area which was delightful. Not too loud on the roof and ocean views from everywhere.
We ate upstairs on the roof top. We sat at the Bar and the service and drinks were excellent. My wife ordered her Fillet well done and it was cooked perfectly. I had an great NY steak that was a bit tepid when delivered but the heated it quickly and it was worth the wait.
Went for dinner and a chance to see a live band. Ended up with a gourmet meal, great service, fabulous drinks and one of the best live cover bands (Legends of Rock) ever! They turned our "ho-hum" evening into a memorable night full of dancing and celebrating. Thanks Mozambique!
Special weekend in Laguna and thought this place was special too. Unfortunately Caesar salad lacked green leaves and the salmon was blackened although not specified that it was in the menu. My boyfriend’s food was okay but nothing special. Service wasn’t good. Save your celebration dollars for a really good place.
On another note, the bar was rocking and the band great!
The view from the top of the restaurant is spectacular!
My only comment is that if you are going for brunch and you are a Vegan or vegetarian you might have to settle for a salad. Not much for us V’s
This is our favorite go to spot for Friday night happy hour. We enjoy the half price appetizers on their new menu. The Caesar salad is great and we split an entree of the penne pasta since it is no longer on the happy hour menu.
Amazing food, we've been in Laguna 3 weeks and this is it fourth visit.... We love the bands!!!
