This is a neighborhood gem. The food is great, drinks outstanding and the staff is off the charts. The community should pull together to make sure they survive the remaining difficult days ahead.
Mozaic has plenty of space to accommodate covid indoor restriction.
Great bartender, fun server, excellent food.
Large portions, great value.
Food was excellent. Shrimp and crab ravioli was devine. Recommended place in downtown Santa Cruz
Birthday Celebration. Food was delicious!!!
Pistachio Dessert “Decadent”
Staff was awesome!!!!
We will definitely return.
Went there for my Birthday. Our meal service were outstanding. We started with the flaming cheese (so much fun) excellent with Uncle David Rye IP A, then then shared a Greek Salad. I had a delicious Lamb shank and my wife had the Chicken and Aregula pasta. Finishing with the Fudge cake simply awesome.
We got there super early and they were super accommodating. Food was delicious. We ordered the meze platter to share and then got the gyros and chicken kebabs. Delicious... Ambiance was great and we can't wait to go back
The lamb shank and gyro were great. The calamari was mostly batter, so it was a bit disappointed; however, I would go back again. Overall it was a good experience.
The good food, the pretty setting, the surprise belly dancer made it quite an event! There are so many items on the menu there will be something for everyone in your party and it's a party there! Don't expect an intimate quiet dinner here as the high ceilings mean a high noise level. There are several sections that break up the restaurant so you can feel you are not overwhelmed. Grab some friends and go.
Mozaic is always one of our favorite restaurants in Santa Cruz. Alicia, our server, is the best in Santa Cruz.
Everything is dated and complacent here. The tile floors are oily, slightly slippery, as soon as we enter the restaurant at 5:30pm when there's hardly any body here, you smell the stench of the old dirty carpet, really sets a bad first impression. The food is tasty although the paella has a good dose of MSG because I was so thirsty after a few bites already and for hours after. The service is good and attentive. Husband's chicken is very very well done and dry. Overall our experience is fine but I won't come back again. They really need to upgrade floor coverings at a minimum.
The food is always great! I love their creative cocktails. Location is good for checking out downtown before or after dinner. Great ambiance!
Grill octopus is like going to heaven
Always yummy food and great service and prices . Noisy on a Friday night but that’s to be expected?
We went with friends for New Years Eve dinner -- excellent food + service, but quite noisy!
Several vegetarian/vegan options, including the hummus and veggie shish kebab which were very good.
We were visiting Santa Cruz, and opted to go to Mozaic because of Mediterranean cuisine. It was three of us adults and a 6 year old. We couldn’t choose better. The food was excellent - the only issue was how to make our minds up what to order, so many delicious choices. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The ambient was 100% adequate (coming from someone who has just visited Lebanon recently) and atmosphere was great. They even had real Turkish/Greek/Lebanese coffee, however one prefer to call it. We have already recommended Mozaic to our friends and will be back ourselves for sure!
I enjoyed a delicious lunch with warm and friendly service from Mike. I had the Mozaic salad: arugula, beets, oranges and almonds, with a skewer of jumbo prawns which were seasoned and very tasty. To drink, I tried the Mozaic (?), which to my mind was like a prosecco-based mojito. Next time I’m in Santa Cruz I’d love to have dinner there.
Amazing service from everyone for our larger group
(8 people), and food was outstanding.
We like Mozaic - the lamb is great. But it is very noisy.
Food was OK. Nothing special. The paella was overcooked and the fish was very fishy. I would avoid. The moussaka was solid, as was the hummus and pita. But very little for vegetarians.
Love this place. So wasy ro fome off hours for aquiwt visit. Greek salad with salmon was a atar for me and always rhe Tzatziki and pita.
Food was excellent! Ordered some appetizers which came quickly but the entrees took a bit more time. Overall a good experience and would definitely go back!
Excellent drink and food. A little scattered on the welcoming and serving, but no delays in service. A tad noisy, but doable for conversation between 2 people. Definitely recommend this place.
I was told 2 times that bread and pesto will come shortly, however it came with my food; after I waited. I asked the waiter to take the br ad and pesto as not to be waisted as I was going it eat my food. Then my order which was a rare medium kabab came as burnt well done.
When he came back to ask how was everything and I told him about the meat being burnt and well done but I am late and have to go, he took the small plate where I was resting my knife, so I had to to eat with a fork and nothing to help the food to get to my fork. Now I had a bottle of peligrino and a glass of Gin, so it could not have been because I ordered a salad only meal.
I left paying $34, no tip, and hungry
Loved the hummus, flaming cheese and grilled vegetable salad! The dirty martini was great too! Others at the table had lamb shank and lamb kabob. They said what they had was the best they have experienced anywhere. Great ambience and service, too!
Amazing food! Every time we visit Santa Cruz, we always visit this restaurant.
Incredibly considerate staff and service!
The food was quite good- the noise level was a bit uncomfortable, particularly the music- it made it hard to have a conversation across the table. Toward the end of our meal, the waiter became scarce, probably from the busyness of the evening. I’ll definitely return, though, particularly for the flaming cheese!
Food is marginal. Ravioli seemed previously frozen. Food lacked flavor, especially the soup. Chicken dry and octopus rubbery. Our guest loved the bar.
The ambience was fine, and the service was very attentive and friendly. We started with appetizers and enjoyed the warm dolmas with sauce; the bread and pesto were also very good. The shrimp skewer was fine. However the grilled salmon was lacking in flavor, had no sauce and was a little dry. The accompanying rice pilaf was uninteresting - the greens were the best item on the plate. We also found the chicken souvlaki to be mediocre.
the food was good, the plates were not really pretty. The ambiance was fun, bar was great, service is great but the bellydancing killed it for me.
We loved the chicken wrap sandwhich, large mezza platter and gyro plate. We will definitely come back again. The babaganoush seemed to have an artificial smoke flavor rather then the natural smoke flavor you attain from grilling the eggplant. It was too heavy in smoke flavor for our liking and more then we are accustomed to at other restaurants or how we make it at home. Overall great experience.
Horrible place! Food was a disgusting mess of items floating in oil!!! No taste, nothing even remotely special just pieces of chicken grilled with Greek seasoning and tons of oil! The salmon was drowning in butter and the Greek salad was just pieces of lettuce floating in oil! Truly disgusting! No manner from the waitress either! Lots of money for food that was not edible! Do yourselves a favor and don’t go here, we sure won’t!
Mozaic is. conveniently located restaurant in downtown Santa Cruz. The service is excellent. And my food experience with friends was uneven. One person asked for his lamb dish medium rare and even after sending the dish back the meat was over cooked. In part because the size of the meat on his kabobs was not all cut into the same size pieces.
My other dining companion was disappointed in the spicing level of her chicken kabobs. Personally I found the lentil soup to be so-so.
Memorable dishes included the spanakopita and the pesto dipping sauce, and thoughtfully prepared house dinner salads.
Everyone in my party said we would try Mozaic again. In a town of excellent food restaurants this would be a second choice for my dining tastes.
Wonderfully accommodating to a tight schedule, a location central to downtown Santa Cruz, phenomenal waitstaff and a unique comfortable vibe makes this place special. Oh, and a chocolate cake to die for. Just go.
Lots of places to choose from in SC for good food. This one was good, not great. We'd probably try another place before coming back. Server messed up an order, but my sons were able to swap their sides to please both of them. No need to send the food back.
Good food! Excellent service, to go back back back!
Great food as usual. Pretty noisy, but that's what I get for going on a Friday. Had the lamb shanks. Excellent.
Good service and tasty food. Little pricey but will come back
The wait staff was very nice and responsive. They were attentive but not overly so. The food and drinks were well prepared and well presented. We'd go back next time we're in town. It was a little pricier than I'd anticipated, but still less than $50 per person with tip, so I can't really complain, as three of us had drinks.
Loved the food! Service was excellent. I have never been to this type of restaurant my 12 year old daughter picked it out. Thanks again
