Established in January of 2012, Mouton's Southern Bistro serves only your favorite dishes found on that drive between Austin and New Orleans. Texas and Louisiana roadside dinners are our inspiration for our own personalized brand where traditional Cajun & Creole meets familiar Texas ingredients. We pride ourselves on our down home atmosphere and southern hospitality, where we will do everything we can to make sure you leave with a smile on your face. No matter what you're hungry for, we've got your new favorite dish just waiting to be discovered.

We prepare everything in house with dedication and care, using many family recipes that have been handed down through a culture of family, food, and fellowship. We hope you enjoy the food and service.

The food and service was excellent. We had fried green tomatoes for appetizer and they were excellent. The gumbo was delicious as well. We will be back.

I was embarrassed for recommending Mouton's to my family visiting from out of town considering all the praise I was giving before this experience. Although I had only been there once before I was impressed with the food and service provided. It's a shame that this time couldn't be the same. I realize that we had a large party (9) to serve, but a 1 hour wait time between appetizers and entrees is ridiculous. 86 mash potatoes, coleslaw, and after my brother in law's first beer of choice they ran out of that too. On a Friday evening. The restrooms were deplorable. Once the food arrived the flavor was decent, but my neice's order was wrong and her replacement was sub-par. Our server was really nice but needed reminders, and whom I assumed to be the manager made sure to visit every table in the restaurant to make sure all was well EXCEPT FOR OUR TABLE. I'm not sure if me using this reservation service had anything to do with it, but personally I felt that we were not very welcome from the time we walked in.

Was so disappointed after reading reviews about the food here. I came in from out of town to meet up with a friend from Louisiana that I hadn’t seen in many years ... reviews made Mouton’s sound great. It was quiet (great), they promptly seated us (great) and our servers were very nice (great). They also didn’t mind us hanging out for 3 hrs in their restaurant, which was super-nice. But food was just not very good: fried boudin balls were too spicy and we each just ate one, the chicken-and-sausage jambalaya was meh (rice wasn’t completely soft and flavor was not as good as the boxed kits from the store. The peach bread pudding was very good and it was a massive serving. Wished it was better, because we would have all been back for more!

The Food and Service were great. The temperature at our dining table was terribly hot and very uncomfortable. The A/C really needs an upgrade in a big way. Also, that A/C upgrade would probably help with the fried food "old grease" smell that assults your nose when you walk in. I will not be back at this location until the 100 degree outdoor temperature goes away with outdoor seating a possibility. I will however try the Cedar Park location on my next visit to Mouton's.

While it’s not a fancy place, the staff are not well dressed-extremely unprofessional and sloppy looking. The drink orders didn’t come out as ordered but we’re quickly and courteously corrected. The food was okay but not as good as previously enjoyed. We will give them another chance and hope it is better.
