Moussaka Mediterranean Kitchen
in Mediterranean Regional cuisine.
We are located in old San Leandro, at the corner of Bancroft and Dutton.
You will enjoy our warm and welcoming atmosphere.
See you soon!
Very nice and friendly waiter, but he needs training. He will be OK. I highly recommend it!
Food was excellent and the presentation was as well. You don't leave hungry !
Been there twice prior and will visit again.
Great neighborhood gem. The chicken shawarma and lamb skewers were delicious. Will definitely go back.
Very enjoyable dining experience. Food was very good and service was excellent!
Wonderful restaurant to celebrate a special occasion. Food and service is excellent.
Very good food and great wine list. Some wait staff is great, others need training. But regardless, worth every penny.
Loved the food and ambiance, value is good and decent prices
Everything we ordered was excellent to include the service. We actually met owner-family members to include the lovely lady who makes all the pastries - a Matriarch of the family. All were extremely lovely people. Salads were delicious. Highly recommend the restaurant.
The restaurant is very cute but unfortunately the food did not match that day. Our breakfast scrambles were too salty to eat- either the chef didn’t realize they poured a lot of salt in, or they didn’t take into account that lox and capers would add to the saltiness. It was unfortunate. We ended up going to another restaurant on the block to eat.
Celebrating friendship. Dave was the perfect waiter.
It would’ve been better if our server would have served us instead of another person from another station. Apparently our server did not want to serve us. We are a middle age couple who is African American. That’s unfortunate!
Very tasty Mediterranean food especially you should try their Beef/lamb donor kebap, Adana and Moussaka. There was only one server during lunch time so it’s pretty hard to get an attention. Overall fast food service and kind staff.
Very good food. Service good. Pleasant dining experience. I recommend it.
Just a little pricey. Suggestion: reduce portions a little and the prices.
Nice casuL Place, prices a little on the high end. I would go there again
Just delisiousand great service! Will be coming back!
It was my birthday, and the staff brought me a desert and a candle and sang to me. It was very special
We arrived and stood at the entrance for nearly five minutes before anyone greeted us. Multiple wait staff saw us and ignored us. Then, we were finally brought to a table, and waited some more. The service was slow, and the food lacked flavor. We certainly were disappointed at our first time trying out this restaurant.
They should be very thankful their food is outstanding because their service is awful.
I was extremely surprised at how varied the menu was for brunch. Lots to pick from. I had the fruit crepe and thought it was one of the best I ever had. Others in our party had omelets that we're substantial and delicious.
Great Birthday Dinner with family. The food was excellent that evening. Visited again for Sunday brunch and will definitely return.
I ordered a meal BECAUSE of the side served with it. My meal was delivered with rice. When I questioned the waitress she told me that no one had liked the side and they were now just serving the rice. I explained to here WHY I'd ordered my meal and further, that I don't eat rice. She offered no way around this. I'm not expecting them to reprint their menus with every change but a verbal warning would have been nice. NOT impressed
Great food for our 3 rd time visiting. Meal was excellent. Great new addition to the neighborhood
Food - Excellent as always
Tried a new salad “Black Lentil and Bulgur”. It was hearty and delicious!
Service - prompt and knowledgeable
Ambience - Perfect for conversation
Love, love this restaurant
We were a party of 6 and we were all very pleased with the food. We started off with Dolmades and an order of Blakened Brussels Sprouts followed by splitting two salads, a Caesar and a Roasted Beet Salad. The salads are large enough to share and they were. Both the Stuffed Grape Leaves and the Brussels Sprouts were excellent. We were off to a great start with just one little hiccup. I had ordered a cup of soup but the server forgot until well after the salad. At that point, I saw no point in having it and waived him off when he came to deliver it.
I had an Iskender (Beef & Lamb Doner over warmed Pita bread, Fresh Tomato Sauce, Browned butter & Yogurt) @ $19. It was good but I might have liked the Beef Lamb Donner standard plating. My wife had the Sumac Chicken Tagine ($22.00) Boneless Half Chicken Sauteed w/Wine, Sumac, Cream Sauce, Serve w/Couscous. Fish Stew, Moussaka and a couple of other mains were chose by the other guests. Everyone seemed quite pleased with their food. Service was OK. And prices were reasonable. Try it, you'll like it!
We enjoyed the food. We noticed there were some communication issues between us and the waitstaff and among the waitstaff and the cooks. We specifically asked if rice came with our meal and we were informed that it did, only to have it come out without the rice. Also, the waitress gave us two recommendations for wine. My girlfriend selected one. But then it took 10 minutes for it to be delivered and that was after I asked for it. Also, the bill came and we were told to take our time and enjoy our dessert. Then, within like 3 minutes, the waitress came back and said the cashier was ready to go and we needed to close out because she was the only one who knew the register. We thought maybe the place had only be open for a short while but learned it had been open for longer than a year.
The appetizers were more tasty than the main courses. Baklava was sickeningly sweet. Oren’s Hummus and The Kebabery have much better Mediterranean food. Will not be back.
Great service, great food. A very enjoyable place to dine.
Didn’t know they charged for bringing cake inside. Otherwise it was good
Friendly, competent service.
Many tasty vegan, vegetarian and meat dishes
Everything was delicious from the car crusted Calamari, to the Chit Seed Salmon to the Lentil soup to the stuffed eggplant.
What an affordable delight.
Creative menu, fun decor, considerate service staff, very friendly owner/chef. Interesting take on traditional dishes.
