moto-i has three levels of event space that can be transformed to cater to your needs. Our staff has considerable experience working with large groups and doing special events. The house brewed sake and chef Ryan's Izakaya fare will make your event a night to remember.
View Private Dining DetailsLively restaurant in Uptown. Atmosphere/ambience was ok. Service was poor. Food was ok-to-good. As far as Japanese or Japanese fusion, there are better choices in Mpls - my opinion.
Had a great time at Moto-i with family for lunch. The food was excellent and the staff was helpful and attentive--even with a big group! Will be back!
Very good sake and rice beer choices. Food was good, but read menu closely. Liberal use of fish flakes!
We both wanted ramen; drove in from Minnetonka. Loved it, will be back.
The food had really good flavor but the ramen bowls were pretty much only noodles, not a lot of other added ingredients. We tried a rice bowl that was awesome!
Service was slow, but it was really busy!
Overall I would recommend to go.
Great food and tasty house-brewed sake! The ramen and special duck gyoza really hit the spot. Late night upstairs is fun too!
Great food and service!!
Very fun and cool atmosphere. Food was good not great. If you're looking for authentic asian food this is not the place for you, very hipster.
The service and food was excellent. We were there at 7:15 and were sat in the bar area on the main floor. The noise factor was a little bit louder than expected but overall excellent experience. We will definately be back.
Interesting menu. Knowledgeable staff. The drink menu was unique. The service was quite good and staff was attentive. Only complaint would be the noise level--hard to hear the conversation at the table.
Went to try moto-I for Raman. It was very disappointing. Little flavor to no flavor. Tasted like eating noodles in water. Restaurant was so dark - couldn’t read menu. Noise level was very loud. Won’t return.
It was good but not great.
Great food and drinks.
First experience eating authentic ramen and it was everything I hoped for. I could tell the ingredients were high quality and I was happy with the price. The waitress was helpful in helping me navigate the items and recommending an appropriate sake. I can't wait to go again!
First time but by no means the last-!! A tad challenging for us wussies who cannot do 🌶 but I found enough to make me happy-!!! Great servers-!! Give it a try-!!
We were a party of four and all of our entrees were delicious - the service was great and everyone was super friendly.
Nice vibe in the space - just a very pleasant evening.
Our waitress was amazing and on top of everything! Was in charge of the whole floor, but did it with no errors! That and the food was perfect and we ordered the Benny Buns twice because it was so good!
I love their ramen - it’s delicious! A waitress also stopped by and said, “We have an extra pork belly - would you like to have it?” Free tasty thick cut bacony deliciousness? Yes please!
Absolutely fabulous!! I am already trying to figure out when I can get back to Moto-i so I can try some other menu items. Everyone in our party loved their food and drinks. The service was fabulous too, and sever was very knowledgeable about all menu items and helped some in our party decide what to get for their first time eating Japanese. I recommend their fruitier Sake. So delicious!!
The Benny Buns are our favorite! Everything on the menu is delicious and the staff is always friendly! Great place to eat!!
It was good! It was a nice and dark place for my Valentine’s Day date! The food was good too and the staff were nice! The food came as it was finished in the kitchen. I recommend it. Price were expected because it is Japanese food. :)
Good food, good service and good vegetarian options. We also really enjoy the sake cocktails.
Moto I is our go to place when we go to the Jungle Theatre. The food is reasonably priced and the service is great. We especially like the beet salad, pork buns, edamame and JFC (Japanese fried chicken). Great portions, fabulous food!
I've said it before, and I will say it again--LOVE MOTO-I!! I am not embellishing to say that every time we visit, we say how much we love Moto-I. Great food, great atmosphere, great staff, great music. Thanks for keeping it GREAT!
Always amazing! Love the steam buns!!!
Great food, great space, great service. The tofu lettuce wraps were amazing and so were the sake cocktails. We had a large group (11 people) and truly outstanding service from our waiter. Thank you!
Great as always! Mushroom Ramen was delish, great local beer, great service.
Good food, good service, good Sake - nothing was outstanding.
Great food , nice environment but very dark , not able to read the menu , the service was regular , waitress was rushing trying to get our food however i can understad that we were +6
We had a sake flight, recommended by the staff. All three sakes were delicious and unique. The atmosphere is cozy, lots of booths.
As always the food is amazing, and equally as amazing is the wait staff.
We love the ramen at this place. It has a cool vibe with sumo decorations and local art upstairs. They brew their own sake and have some good local beers available. It is a will return for us and worth the drive to uptown.
Our Korean children along with myself and my wife, having visited both
Korea and Japan, have frequented many of metro establishments for Ramon. Our Ramon meals fell short of their places we've tried, mostly in the flavoring of the broth.
The Duck Ramon I had, was good, but I was surprised by the spicyness and the different type of noodles, that I've come accustomed to in my Ramon.
The staff was excellent, always someone stopping by to check on us or refelling beverages and taking away plates. Had at least 4-5 different people, stop by our table. The Malbec wine I had was excellent, and the "Moto Mule" that was mistakenly brought to our table, looked excellent as well. Made me wish I hadn't pointed out the mistake, and had simply drank it.
People watching was excellent, everyone looked like they were having fun. The drawings on the chalk boards, looked like they could have benifited from being replaced by the animae characters that my daughter creates.
Moto i always satisfies! Love the spicy red coconut beef curry ramen! Also, try a godzilla bomb and whatever the specials are at the time. $2 steamed buns during happy hour are the best. Highly recommend for casual or for a date night or group dinner!
Outstanding customer service and waiter. Good food and a nice atmosphere.
Service was fantastic. The food was amazing!! It wasn’t our first time, and it definitely won’t be the last!
We went to Moto-i for a birthday celebration. We enjoyed our appetizers including the rangoon, pickle plate, and tempura shrimp. (Though I would have loved tempura veggies along with it as well.) We really liked the small, soft bun options and will probably go back for brunch and order the beni one again and try their house Bloody Mary. The beni was the Japanese version of eggs Benedict and our favorite. The BBQ pork-rice dish with chili sauce (can't remember the name) and the drunken noodles were are favorite entrees. Yes we will go back but probably not on a Sat. eve. as the parking was tough.
Enjoyed the food! I ordered the buns and the ramen. Wish the buns were a little warmer they were slightly cold. They had a good variety on the menu with some vegetarian options that I was able to eat. Server was great and attentive. Slightly pricey though. Would return!
I had heard raving praise about this restaurant so maybe my expectations were too high. The appetizers and small plates were very good but main dishes were just average. The dishes which were described by menu and server as spicy (which we desired) were minimally so. The noodle dishes also seem very salty. With all the options for Asian food in UpTown, we will probably try a different one.
Fun atmosphere! It was busy and our server was knowledgeable and personable. Our appetizers were slow to come out and the server was aware and apologized for he delay. But the food (appetizers and main courses) was great which made up for the delay.
