We had an excellent dining experience. Jess was our server and she went above and beyond to ensure we had a great dining experience. Everything from the ambiance to the food was superb! Would recommend!
Food was good. Live music definitely made the evening wonderful.
My waitress was great but rather slow and we were the first people in for dinner at 6 PM so it was not crowded. My lamb Meatballs was frozen and reheated with sauce and cheese stone on top very obvious because one of the meatballs my calls in the middle but the biggest disappointment was the fishy tasting Branzino and Most disappointment food item was desert the crème brûlée I tested the lighter fluid that was used to torch the sugar. Last but not least the peach Cosmo with oranges in it was truly disappointing. For 300.00 me and my daughters went was truly a waste of money!
Appetizers was cold, how is soup cold...
Salmon was dry and a very small piece. Mashed potatoes we’re definitely powdered. Really overall a poor experience
The food was good. The service was excellent and the staff was very friendly.
Daniel was so nice and attentive! Great food and beautiful scenery, highly recommend.
My experience at the Moshulu was HORRIBLE!! I arrived for my reservation early and was seated in about 5 minutes. The impersonable waiter to a while to come over but not too long. Drinks came immediately and the little appetizer was not to far off. The entrées, however, took over an hour. Asked the waiter about our food and was informed "it isn't my fault," instead of apologizing for the wait and going to the kitchen. Eventually a manager comes over and assures that the food is on the way but by now we have asked for the bill. The bill shows that the food order was put in at 8:13 pm and the time is now 9:32 and still no food. When the food finally comes I make a grievance with a different manager since our wait was over an hour and 15 minutes. I was informed that it was NORMAL practice for food to take that long. I'm sorry, where? People who were seated at the same time as me have been eating. And the food ordered wasn't extravagant, only a fish sandwich and ravioli. The manager still was justifying the wait time and refused to adjust the $100+ bill for $16 appetizer. We ended up leaving. The Moshulu needs to work on their customer service, food production times, and management.
Food was good just took along TY ime t o recieve our entree
It was restaurant week and very bz that night. I will try other time
Recommend coming here when COVID-19 is not a thing. Being short staffed is definitely noticeable.
It had been awhile since my wife and I last had a meal at Moshulu...our daughter joined us recently for dinner and the food was excellent and staff was both attentive and courteous... great service. Can’t wait until our next visit
The whole dinner experience was out of this world! The cool breeze from the river, the ambience and the music had added a magical tone to the evening. The food could have been better.
I was really impressed with the uniqueness and practically of the ship's restaurant venue, decor and how professional the waiters and waitresses served.
Thanks Gary my experience was a lovely one and I will have to return again. Keep up the excellent customer service .
This restaurant has gone downhill in a big way! The service was beyond slow and inattentive. The food could have come from a cafeteria and the limited drink selection was not edible.
Food and service was great. Definitely will be back.
We had a wonderful lunch on the Moshulu. We were seated on the deck outside as per our request, but it was a bit cool and they quickly got us re-seated indoors. Both locations were wonderful. The food was exceptional as was the service. We had the calamari, the chicken, the burger, and the seafood salad, and can't wait to come back again as everything exceeded expectations.
Was back in Phila for a wedding. Had been going to Moshulu off and on the entire time I lived in Phila from Moshulu’s beginnings as a venue, til I moved in 92. Since then it’s become even BETTER, with enclosed upper decks and an expansive menu! The music was a little overpowering for a brunch. I LIKE the ambiance of Reggae, but it was just too loud or we were to close to it. But I took my friend, and he was just as THRILLED as I was! I’m sure we’ll go back NEXT visit!
I’m really big on customer service, tho the food took long to come and it may have been busy but communication with the customer is key, keep them informed, don’t walk pass them when you having came to the table in 30min+ that’s rude.
I had the Mr. Out for his Birthday! He loved it.
And Jessica was a delight! She was right on point!!!
He had to show everyone his tiny birthday treat.
It took us 30 mins to receive appetizers and it took another hour for us to receive or dinner which we told the server to just pack everything to go.
The food wasn’t the best, but the drinks were good. the ambiance is amazing. The customer service was nice too.
The restaurant is great for the sights and service but the food was just ok. I ordered a medium filet that was overcooked twice and the branzino was dry. Great restaurant for a view but wouldn’t rave over the food.
Beautiful experience. My daughter enjoyed herself
While the food was fine, the service on the night we visited was extremely poor. We ordered everything when seated and didn’t get our meals until 1.5 hours later. Our waitress rarely checked in and did not mention the long wait. We strongly contemplated walking out. The manager comped us a round of drinks, which was appreciated, but overall the experience was not good.
PERRRRFECT, food, services, everything!!!
The Moshulu is a must do! The Food was phenomenal! Gary our server was the most personable guy. He talked to us andcontinuously checked on us and made our dinner experience amazing. He was able to reccomend food and wines to us at the drop of a hat. All of which were delish! He was just awesome. I truly hope when we return that we are in Gary's section!
The Moshulu has great views... if you get to see them. Or if the staff lets you appreciate them. The food was cold and soggy, and the expensive alcohol was served in plastic airplane cups. Definitely not a fine dining experience.
I had personally visited the restaurant 2 hours before to ask for a window table facing the sea. When we got there, the staff was rude and did not seat us at a sea-facing table so we requested to be seated upstairs instead. Upstairs we were seated next to blind covers so we couldn’t see the sky. We requested for a table two seats down that was open and looked at the view, however we were told that table “was not being served tonight.” We felt defeated and sat to order apps and a drink, right after we ordered, our desired table was immediately seated with other patrons. Paid $10 for soggy cold asparagus and $12 for a drizzle of prosecco served in a plastic cup. The servers were dressed like they were going to a frat party. The Moshulu is expensive and not worth it. Will not be going back.
Place has fallen off quite a bit over the years. Still decent, but not what it once was
We ate on the deck hoping to overlook the water. They had the temporary walls set up, at first it was a little disappointing, but it was a chilly Sept evening, so at least we had a view through the 'window' and we stayed warmer than we would have without them there.
Their beer selection wasn't the best, so I opted for wine. My husband got a signature drink and while he said it was a little on the weaker side, we were both pleased enough to get a second.
Our waitress was amazing. Not overbearing, but always nearby and checked in with us when we needed her.
The food was outstanding. Presentation and taste were both top quality.
We were very happy that we chose to dine at the Moshulu to celebrate our anniversary.
We dined at the Moshulu to celebrate two birthdays. The food was excellent and it’s always so cool to dine on this amazing sailboat. One birthday was acknowledged with a happy birthday wish on her desert plate but the other birthday wasn’t acknowledged. The service was a bit slow but I’m guessing that COVID-19 has caused some staffing challenges. Overall, a great night with wonderful food and great views!
The food was okay. COVID changing the ambience of the restaurant
Always good never had a bad meal. Wife had a good time thank you!
Great Food! And Great Service!!
We made reservations for outside dining. We were taken to the most uncomfortable metal table and chairs. The hostess had hurried away so we asked the closest server who had little interest in assisting us. We were specific, can we sit in the sun? It was cool out and the sun would have been lovely. No sunny table for us, but it was not metal. Looking forward to celebrating a special birthday. The server had no interaction asking us why we were out.
The food was very good. Appetizers of Calamari and Spicy California roll. Dinner - Filet, Branzino and a Swordfish/short rib surf and turf. We were all excellent.
Go for the food not the view or ambiance. Never thought that is what I would say about a place known for being on the water.
I had a great first date experience. Thank you
Fantastic food in a unique and romantic setting. Well worth it!
Honestly, you're going here for the ambiance, aren't you? The food is ok, but overpriced. It was lovely and quiet sitting along the rail on the outside of the ship - away from the trendy Sunday brunch crowd.
I was underwhelmed by the experience. Went on Saturday with a group of three people. We all ordered drinks and brunch. None of us liked the drinks or the food. Other reviewers mentioned how tasty the food is.. so not sure what went wrong there. The concept of the boat is awesome but was very cold outside and our seats didn’t really give us a nautical feel. Our server was super nice .. so no complaints about the service.
Fun Philadelphia experience. We had a great time.
