I have been to many Morton’s and on this visit I had the best bone in ribeye I have ever had at Morton’s. I ordered Nickel and Nickel Cabernet by Coravin and whereas at most Morton’s the wine is poured at tablside, mine was brought out in a small glass decanter. I discussed this with Jodi the manager and she agreed that the tableside pouring of the wine does add the experience. She said that they will make tableside pouring the standard and she offered a complimentary after dinner drink. Overall it was a great dining experience and I would return for dinner next trip to San Antonio.
We (my sister and I) have visited this restaurant on several occasions. We always find the food to be superb, our requests (we usually split an entree) honored cheerfully, and the service top notch.
The bar is lovely and Roger (server in the bar) always acknowledges our presence with warmth and welcoming smiles.
This particular evening, we let the server and maitre d and managers know that we particularly enjoy an atmosphere that is warm, friendly and not the least bit stuffy in an establishment that is clearly a "fine dining" gem.
Morton's never disappoints. They are always consistent with the delicious food, excellent service and every attention to detail. Every experience at Morton's is wonderful and the perfect place to celebrate my anniversary and birthday every year. Pricey but very worth it, wish there was a Morton's in my city of Laredo, TX.
Service was terrible. We waited almost 2 hours from time we got there for food. Every part of our meal was delayed between. Reservation at 645 and didn't leave until after 9 pm. Some of the food came out not done properly, but we waited so long we didn't want to send it back. 3 people in our party left without finishing their meal due to the time.
The absolute worst service ever !!!
My truffle fries were cold. My drink was empty way too long. No soap in the ladies room. Never offered to wrap up my steak or ask if we wanted dessert.
Horrible experience !!!! I eat at Mortin's a lot when I travel and this by far was the worst !!!
Not what it used to be. They were out of bread at 7:00, Really! Ordered off of the Culinary week menu, had to ask for it. The steak was tough and the server treated us like second class citizens. The bisque was fair and the cream brûlée had a strange taste. For the culinary dinner for 2 with 1 glass of wine and 2 beers it was $125 with tip. Not worth it. Bob's is much better. Steve
Disappointing service experience. Our Server was not qualified or trained to be a server. He never introduced himself. Just asked what type of water and for drink order and walked away. My wife’s drink was brought out and I finally got mine by the time I asked him three times about my drink. I’m assuming there were no specials as he covered nothing on the menu. I ordered an appetizer because I thought based on experience so far would take a while to get our order. He came out just before our salads were brought out asked if we order and appetizer. He obviously did not place the order. The appetizer came out and salads within a minute of that. The manager/food runner that brought out salads said he would take back salads since appetizer just brought out. When salads came later they were the same ones they took back, just now they were soggy and inedible. The steaks we had were good. Trying to pay took a while; after we had him go back to include the valet we had to wait and never got our valet ticket. He came back and said he went ahead and took ticket to valet and asked them to bring around our car. That would have been great had we planned on driving away right then, but we had planned on a walk before heading home. Just an overall bad service experience, especially considering what they charge. In finer steak houses they have server helpers and managers that come around checking on guests, this location seemed understaffed and untrained. I will make sure to tell all to avoid this Morton’s in San Antonio and go to Bohannan’s or the Palm if they want a great steakhouse experience downtown.
I went for the Lobster special and it was average
The service was slow and the food was average I felt the waiter should of helped the ladies with it but he said he was to busy tonight. The steak was very good but the mash potatoes were cold but the food took so long I didn't say anything .
I will not go back on another birthday as it was not all that great.
The bar tevder was way overworked and we barely got a cocktail 30 minutes before our reservation. We were seated by the kitchen door for dinner, not a fun experience. We made reservations specifically for lobster night. The size of lobster was great for the money spent. It's a good thing I know how to dress a lobster because Nick, the server, never offered to do it. That was disappointing. Husbands 12 oz filet was perfect as was the chopped salad we split and the creamed spinach. We ordered a very expensive bottle of wine and were disappointed that Mark, the sommelier did not decant it. Carrot cake for dessert was delicious and I had a Morton's coffee. This is a great place for a delicious meal. We can get a steak for a better price closer to home and won't make reservations here again, especially for lobster week.
The food was excellent as usual but the service by our waiter was as bad as it gets. We go to this locations many times each year for many many years. We have not had service this bad . Neither the waiter or the water and bread man could bring an ice tea. It was finally delivered 15 minutes later by the manager on duty. The service never got better the entire evening.
This was my first time eating at a Morton's restaurant and I was very pleased with the ambiance and the food was delicious. However, someone in my group was not satisfied with the taste of his Ribeye steak because it was over charred. He asked the waitress if that was a normal part of grilling and she replied yes, that there is some charring to be expected. He mentioned that it was too much for him and, by the looks of it, it was charred more than normal to the point the entire steak was literally black from front to back on both sides and he asked for it to be cooked Medium. He only ate 2 pieces of it and the waitress did not offer him another option which I was surprised because he is a Landry's member and his experience should not have turned out that way. Otherwise, everything else was top notch.
Customer service from the time we entered Morton's up to the time we left was exceptional. The waiter was pleasant and knowledgeable and offered menu suggestions which we ordered and were quite pleased with. It was my husband's birthday and they offered some special attention for this occasion-which was very nice. The food was excellent and wait time for drinks, appetizers and food was excellent. Manager also keep coming by to check on us as well. We will definitely return and recommend Morton's to our friends
First I do not every make unrequested recommendations, but is someone specifically asks me at a specific restaurant I have been to, I will give them my honest experience.
The only negative to this visit was that they opened an hour early for Father's Day and Mark, the manager, said he had coordinate with the Valet Parking subcontractor, but realized, in retrospect, that he had dome it through an unreliable person at that company and will not make that mistake again. He did everything he could to make up for it, but I still waiting in my care for at least 30 minutes until I was given a ticket and had to leave the car locked on the street in "loading area tow away zone", which concerned me, but turn out to be unwarranted.
Our waitress, Amy, and the others who assisted her, were EXCELLENT!
