Understaffed and over priced. They opened every room for valentines day and were way over packed. The kitchen could not keep up and neither could the waiter. Took 25 minutes to have our food order taken and over an hour for entrees. Ive had much better food and service at less well known places.
Overall 4 out of 5, took my wife there for Valentines Day arrived a little early and we were seated before our reservation time (awesome).. Asked us if we wanted bread to begin with and said yes, unfortunately the bread was coated with onions to bad my wife is allergic to onions and we asked if they had any other type of bread and they said no. Maybe for a restaurant of that caliber they should offer another type of bread especially on Valentines Day nobody wants to make out with anybody with onion breathe, just saying....
This was not our first time to Morton’s . It had been a few years so we were disappointed to find the interior redone and very dark. The service was excellent and food was very good. Plan on spending a good amount of $$$. We each had a drink , split an appetizer and each had a Salmon, grilled shrimp, crabmeat dish and total bill without tip was 200.00.
Upon arrival Tiffany was pleasant showing positive energy. The servers Zak and Josh were professional, polite, and accommodating. Our date night was enjoyable. This evening leading up to my birthday certainly meant my choice of desserts to be special . Our families in MA, NY, and FL always dine at these locations to celebrate EVERYTHING!
My wife and I each had the filets prepared medium, with horseradish whipped potatoes and broccoli with. We also had the onion soup that was unique in its flavor. For dessert we enjoyed the chocolate mousse which was rich and creamy. The only thing lacking was attentive service.
I am certain this is not typical for a Mortons but our experience was lousy. We made a 7:30 reservation online for 1/9, which was moved to 8pm. We were not seated until 9pm, where we were deposited and left unattended for 20 minutes. We had to ask for menus, waiter, drinks, etc. The meal took an hour for preparation and delivery. We did not finish our meal until 11:30. Very unfortunate how overwhelmed their staff clearly was that evening.
Noisy! We had a group of 12 and the group could not communicate. The atmosphere was far too noisy to be comfortable. We could only talk to the persons directly adjacent and no one else. We could not hear anyone else at our table. As noisy as it was, we could not recommend this restaurant if you want to talk to others in your group.
Note: the service and food was GREAT. But, the noise overwhelmed the food.
It was a Terrible experience all the way through. Terrible service. Sold out of our favorites and had nothing planned for New Years. Staff were uncaring and couldn’t care less about our pathetic experience. I’ll never go back. No personality in the joint. Food is a rip off and the wine prices are really nuts. Eat anywhere but here.
Underwhelming. The table we were seated at was too big for 4 people. It made it difficult for conversation and awkward at times. We waited 10 mins to get greeted and about 15 to get water to the table. I understand the holiday made it busy but our server was way too busy for us. And his other tables were looking like they felt the same. My best friend and I are pregnant and asked about mock tails and he suggested against it. Oddly. So we settled for tea and water. Could have easily sold us virgin drinks that would have been more expensive. Oh well. When the food came out my steak was undercooked so I sent it back for a “light up cook” and didn’t get it back until everyone had finished their meal. I had to ask for it and my husband had to ask for another drink twice. Our table was dirty for the whole night and we had to beg for our check to get out of there. Not ideal or an enjoyable experience especially when you’re paying top dollar. Doubt we will be back.
We had s reservation for Christmas and have been there about by 6.15 pm. Even when there were multiple tables available, they made us wait until 6.30. Then they seated us in a seperate room (3 free tables).
The only decoration in the whole room was in a corner a Christmas tree. Not one little Christmas decoration in the whole room other then this middle size tree.
No child menu. On the neighbor table a baby and under the child seat nasty garbage (empty pouches of baby food, a lemon or orange piece etc. The people on the neighbor table left soon after we arrived and we had to look at the garbage all the time. (Nice for a Christmas dinner).
Filet was tender but did not have really flavor.
We had a really nice server.
But our conclusion is, we will not return to this location
We went for Christmas and my husbands birthday (yes, a birthday on Christmas). My daughter and I ordered filet mignon COOKED WELL DONE! We even told them to butterfly if needed, just make sure no pink. Mine came out very pink, hers red. Sent them back. Mine came out more done but still not well done. Hers came out still red. Sent them back. Mine came back acceptable but not great. Hers was very pink. At that point she told them forget it, she’d lost her appetite because she was so mad. Manager “graciously “ said she wouldn’t be charged ???, duh. BTW, neither was butterflied. Needless to say, ruined the occasion. Husbands was fine because he likes medium well. Not many places you can just up and leave and go elsewhere on Christmas Day. Ironically, daughter had eaten there many times with no problem. Besides the food debacle, there is no dress code. People came in like they had just left there backyards. Will stick to Ruth’s Chris or Fleming’s next time
Went there for Christmas dinner and was grateful that it was not a buffet and we could order off the menu. I had gotten myself very excited for the escargot (which did not disappoint), but had yet to make up my mind on the main meal. I chose the Miso Chilean Sea Bass and it was delicious, although the broth could have had a bit more flavor. My husband ordered the onion soup, which, while good, was not something he raved about (the restaurant just next door makes a fabulous onion soup and that is what we compare it to!). What he DID rave about, and ate all of, was the cajun ribeye a la oscar. He did not want to overeat, and be loaded down with potatoes, so this was a nice something more, but not heavy. His steak was cooked perfectly and he couldn't have been happier. Which was really important since he was planning on ordering the steak and lobster tail special but decided not to after speaking with other guests outside prior to the doors opening. The gentleman we spoke with said that he never gets anything but that and it is fabulous. He talked it up wonderfully, and our server from Boston Robbie supported our decision. Nice work!
Robbie was a great server and we chatted it up a little about the Northeast.
I did share with the restaurant, that this venue, like most steakhouses, is just too dark. We were grateful to be seated in the back room that had more light, but it really will keep us from going there again. We live in the Sunshine State and you would never know it! Also, while I realize that the bread is just there to tide you over, and several people come by and offer to take it away when the meal comes, the butter could have a little zing to it. Is that by design so that when your meal comes it is fab-u-los-o? No matter. It was a great day. Great food. Great service. And a great way to spend a little while in the afternoon.
Disappointed with the fact that the restaurant was hosting a party in the bar area and it was extremely loud. Although they offered to change us to a less noisier area, I wish I would have known about the party. I called to reconfirm my reservation and asked what their corkage fee was ---so they had an opportunity to tell me about the special event going on that evening.
This was my first experience with Morton’s and to be honest I was not impressed. When my husband and I got there, we were seated and as soon as we said we were not drinking alcohol the whole atmosphere change. The place was extremely noise it was hard to hear the waiter. I’ll be honest we will not be coming back. The money for the food was fine, but I expected better service. It was hard to leave a 40.00 tip. When I had to ask for my Ice tea. No one asked me what I want to drink.
The bacon-wrapped scallops were outstanding. The filet mignon was perfectly done. Impressive wine list. Although the restaurant didn't seem very crowded, our server was less attentive than we thought was appropriate. He was gracious, however, in giving us a free dessert for our anniversary. The chocolate lava cake was fabulous. It's just so incredibly expensive: $224 for dinner for 2. I don't think the experience justifies the expense.
