Morton's The Steakhouse - Houston - Downtown
Book your next event with us
Not my favorite Morton’s location. It was my daughter’s BD which I had told them in advance. Went totally unnoticed by our server. Server disappeared for long stretches of time. Screwed up the bill by charging for too many drinks.
Overall a C night at best. So average I can’t remember what I ate.
I would recommend Morton’s by Galleria.
We had a really good time and the food was outstanding. We aren’t heavy eaters and having an appetizer usually determines what and how much we eat. We happened to split a wagyu steak and they graciously split the steak for us and served on two different plates. They also split our salad. We really appreciated that. We aso really like the personal size sides. Again we aren’t heavy eaters so splitting this size is absolutely perfect. The attention to detail was great and while we have been to other Morton’s steakhouses we enjoyed driving into the city this go around to celebrate our 17th anniversary.
Service was great as usual. Great food.
Amazing and beautiful experience.
First time at Morton’s. My husband made a valentines reservation a month in advance. However, even with a reservation at 7:00pm, when we arrived we were placed on a wait. We were not seated for 45 minutes. Once seated, we waited an additional 15 minutes for a server to come to our table. Since we had waited so long, we placed our order right away. We ordered an appetizer which was fine and came out pretty timely, our main courses came out after another 20 minutes-my husband ordered the filet with lobster and I ordered the filet oscar style. Both medium well. When they came out however they were both rare. Disappointed and starving, we sent them back to the kitchen. Worst mistake. They came back beyond well done. They had also put our newly OVERcooked steaks on new plates, which is where we lost our side of asparagus and the sauces that accompanied the steaks. Exhausted and completely over it all at this point, we ate what we could and asked for the check. A manager did come over at one point and asked how things were. My husband looked at me and then back at the manager and said, “well...” and the very smiley manager quickly responded with “good good good” and left the table. We weren’t interested in tracking down another manager on a holiday night to discuss our horrible meal. But we were extremely disappointed to pay a bill close to 200.00 (without alcohol), that was less than subpar. First and last time at this establishment. Back to the much superior quality of Capitol Grille and Perry’s for us.
The food we received was cold and not very flavorful! On our baked potato that we received wasn’t warm enough to even melt our butter or cheese! Not to mention we had to ask for the cheese! It wasn’t given at the same time as the other condiments! Our creamed spinach was disgusting and cold. We didn’t even take 2 spoonfuls of it! I understand it was Valentines Day so maybe they were understaffed and overbooked but the food was not very appetizing at all. I definitely won’t be back!
This place was just wonderful! Tino was are waiter and I’ve never had a waiter as amazing as him , I will highly recommend and definitely be returning next time I’m in Texas
Great Valentine’s Day experience
Wonderful Valentines dinner.
Great place for a business lunch , great lunch menu and staff is great !
The manager helpful! Valet parking ruined the dining experience.
Great service by Darlene and table side visit from Myriam. Perfect business lunch!
The entire evening was without event. Everything was as expected, perfect! Thank you to everyone at the facility for a nice evening.
This was our first time and we all LOVED IT! the place was warm and inviting. Seating was comfortable. I cant say enough about our service! it was professional yet casual, and we all felt like we were treated like royalty. The food was super flavorful! we had the lunch Ribeye and mashed potatoes.. YUMMY! and Dessert was the chocolate mousse. I will be craving that. I have been to many steakhouses, but I have to say that this experience was wonderful. It is pricey, so we cant go all the time, but when we can, we plan to visit again. THANKS Mortons :)
Service was great but too noisy.
The food quality has gone down. Doesn’t taste as the same as other top rated HOUSTON steakhouses.
It was my boyfriend’s birthday and we had an amazing time. There was not a bite we didn’t enjoy. Service was great discussing the wine and food menu. Complimentary dessert and they even took a photograph for us :-)
Continuing our tradition of starting the New Year at Morton’s. Great place to dine for any occasion. Service was excellent manager came and spoke with us even assisted with bringing out our food. Food had good flavor and tasted excellent as always.
Todo muy rico y el servicio muy bueno.
Absolutely amazing!! Food, service, great vibes.
Went on NYE and our waiter Manuel was more than exceptional!
Food, atmosphere and service were great.
New Year's Eve dining at Morton's Downtown Houston was an excellent way to say good-bye to 2019.
My wife and I split a colossal shrimp cocktail and the shrimp were indeed colossal. Salads were great; beef steak tomato with blue cheese and Caesar salad. Our main course was amazing red snapper for both of us. For dessert my wife ordered a raspberry soufflé that came out beautiful and hot as we finished off our main course. I probably could have done with out the soufflé but it was too large for my wife along so I just gave in to the temptation.
Our server, Javier, was a polite, attentive young man who knew the menu well. His service was a big part of making our New Year's Eve dining perfect. It may take us 35-40 minutes driving each way to get to Morton's downtown but we do enjoy going there.
We enjoyed the food but there current online menu is out of date and that is all that is being advertised online. Although the food was delicious and we enjoyed ourselves I have had better steak and better quality at salt grass for half the price. If I’m paying top dollar I expect the best quality.
The food quality was good as always but it went downhill from there. The server was very friendly but nothing arrived when it should. No bread was offered, one salad arrived with the entrees even though it was not the entree. Desserts arrived a few at a time spaced about 10 minutes apart and the sundae was floating in melted ice cream by the time we received it. Tiny gnats kept circling our plates. We waited a long time to have glasses of tea refilled. We dine at other Morton’s often but will not frequent this location again. The manager never bothered to stop and check on us at all even after I had told the server about the gnats. This was our family Christmas dinner and we will not be returning in the future.
We dine at Morton's frequently and it has always been excellent in every way. We were here for Christmas eve and was very disappointed. My rib eye was cold and dry, my baked potato was dry and falling apart with holes in the bottom. They brought me another rib eye and potato. Again, the rib eye and potato was still extremely dry. I'm not sure what was happening there on Christmas eve but very disappointed.
Went out as a triple date, 3 couples. Our waiter was amazing, very helpful and courteous. Made excellent recommendations and did not “over wait” the table. Steaks were really great, the lobster not so much steaks made it not matter...nobody left hungry for sure!
Food was good but not great. Steaks were cold and average quality but the sides were excellent. The au gratin potatoes were some of the best we had. The waitstaff struggled through the entire night, but was adequate. Service and food quality could stand to be improved.
Absolutely go here especially if you are going to the theater!!! It was superb and they shuttled us in a nice black suburban to the theater and picked us up and brought is back. Way better than us going somewhere closer to the theater and being rushed and having to walk.
Amazing meal and good service
The Hostess was fabulous, our waiter Louis was a different story. He was not attentive at all. Let me start by saying it took over 20 minutes to get bread service, that we had to ask for ourselves. Everyone was happy with the Onion Soup and Salads. Then the main course was served. 4 out of the 4 steaks were served at the wrong temperature. The waiter never approached the table to see if everything was up to everyone's expectations. To better put everything into perspective 3 of the guest had already cut into the steak and found each one was at the wrong temperature. Being there was no wait staff asking how the meal was they decided to swapped the steak around themselves. The guest at the end of the table ordered a well done steak which arrived several minutes after everyone else had been served. After cutting into his steak, he realized it was rare and had to waited several minutes to finally get the attention of a server. The server then took his plate to the kitchen, had it re-fired to the correct temp and brought it back out to him. The guests with chopped steaks had cold cheese piled on them. They were thinking that the cheese should be little melted. I must say though the guy in charge of making sure the water and tea were filled was on point as was the desserts. Let me also mention after we were finished with the main course we were never asked if we would like hot tea, coffee or an after dinner drink to complement our dessert. Very very disappoint and embarrassed, especially since I recommended Morton’s for our small group luncheon.
Our waitress Pam was fantastic!
Both of the steaks that were order had the incorrect temperature; both were over cooked
Nice place. No valet which keeps me away.
great, we celebrated our anniversary
Great food and awesome service.
Very attentive staff. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Music is a bit loud.
