Moon Rabbit is a highly-regarded Vietnamese restaurant situated in the heart of Washington D.C., drawing inspiration from the virtuous rabbit depicted in the Buddhist Jataka tale.     Absolutely love Moon Rabbit, master chef Kevin Tien’s gastronomic gem. This was a return visit, has I never miss a chance to get a meal at this incredibly innovative journey into reimagined Vietnamese food. Service was warm and friendly and appropriately attentive. Only comment was the night we were there. We were seated next to a table of extraordinarily loud people who were keeping the alcohol flowing. It made it difficult for our low-key dinner conversation. Obviously, a matter of happenstance and something to simply accept given how hard it is to get a table here!

    Everything we ate was superb. Our cocktail was delicious. Our server was delightful. Maybe best meal Of my life!!!!

    Fabulous cooking - original and sometimes very surprising recipes - but balanced and always pleasing Small reservations on the cocktails The place is big and noisy and some of the service (definitely not all) is a bit too robotic to reach the expected level that the cooking would deserve : getting a hasty list of ingredients is neither poetic nor helping to appreciate - pointing out the key idea or the twist or what should be looked for would make the difference

    First time at Moon Rabbit. Nicely decorated room, quite bustling but noise was tolerable. Service generally good, and our waitress was very nice, though we had a 15 minute period between the arrival of our drinks and the first course, which had us wondering “where’s the food?” (From the time we walked into the restaurant to our first bite was about 35 minutes, though we were seated immediately). Other service issues: one of the servers (not our waiter) would tell us what we were being served, though using terminology we didn’t understand at times, and on asked for clarification she seemed flustered. Food-wise, we ordered the “Vietnam tour” and everything was really very good, and we were quite satisfied at the end of the meal. Cocktails were delicious. Dinner for two with three cocktails in total: $320

    What a wonderful place for that special occasion. The atmosphere, the service, the delicious and beautiful presentation of the food is exceptional.

    Lovely and delicious lunch at Moon Rabbit! We did the $35 pre fixe and every bit was perfect!

    I had a lovely dinner at Moon Rabbit. I took the chef's tour of Vietnam and received a nice selection of the menu. Particularly enjoyed the eggplant sushi, the amberjack crudo and the quail (especially that Clementine mustard sauce). The service was excellent as well. I would come back for sure.

    Amazing dinner at Moon Rabbit. We had the tasting menu with the wine pairing and all of the dishes were excellent. The highlights were the wagyu beef and the appetizers with the chicken liver pâté and eggplant over rice. The staff were superb and they even offered us Cava and an additional dessert on the house to celebrate our anniversary. We will absolutely return.

    Amazing food. Every single dish was delicious. Incredible service. This is a must go if in DC. I'll be recommending it to all my friends.
