soy ginger aioli
Great waiter , enjoyed the food, restaurant was too warm and humid . Very uncomfortable . Noise level was too loud.
Good and service is fabulous, I really enjoy this restaurant
I ordered oysters on the half shell. The menu said East Coast and West Coast oysters so I expected different kinds of oysters as well as different sizes. When they arrived it looked like the identical kind of oyster and they were minuscule. I also ordered the $6 Caesar salad. It was much smaller than what I expected.
Sat on the patio and enjoyed a beautiful evening with great food and excellent service. Derrick is one of the best around!
Our server was amazing and super helpful. It was our first time in and she helped explain the menu & drinks really well. Our crab cakes were excellent, too. We hope to visit again soon.
Everything looks fabulous. Perfect setting. Great service and tremendous food. It is a MUST Go To
Great food, mostly good service. We did not get offered a dessert or coffee though not a big deal.
Server was great and food was delicious
Excellent food and service! We will be back :)
Food was great - the bisque, the poke bowls, and the beef! Service was great. Wish it had been a bit quieter so we could have enjoyed the conversation more.
I loved the food, ambiance and decor. I highly recommend this for a date night or girls night out!
Service and food were both excellent! It was really loud but we were seated next to the bar
Great food fantastic service from Sam equals an overall excellent experience we will die in there again soon!
Great experience overall
Food was great. Service attentive without being obnoxious. The California theme was obvious, but come on--include wines from elsewhere!! It did get loud as the evening went on, but wasn't too bad.
3 great dishes. Excellent cocktails. Highly recommend
1st visit to Monterey Coastal did not disappoint! The staff were all friendly and efficient. Had north east and west coast oysters which both tasted very fresh along with accompanying condiments. Four of us had a couple of different varieties of sashimi and one of us had the special which was a red snapper served on scallop risotto and a roasted red pepper sauce. It was very good. I had the hamachi citrus sashimi chefs plate and we shared the beet salad. Best sashimi and beet salad I have had! Cocktails were also very enjoyable. The only reason I gave the food 4 instead of 5 stars was for the calamari. Although the calamari itself was high quality and very tender, I thought it could have been fried a bit longer. It was not crispy. The sauce it was served with complemented it nicely. We will definitely return!
This was our first time at this restaurant. We loved it and will definitely come back. Great food and atmosphere.
service was kind of slow and I had to ask for another beer.
We had the calimari, only flavor was from the lemon we squirted on. I had the seafood ravioli, taste was off but ok. My wife got the ahi, great steak but nothing great. Sister in law ordered the chicken sandwich which was the highlight of all our meals. Would order that if we go back.
This was our first time dining here. Hostess showed us to a corner in an alcove that seemed kind of ‘lonely.’ She was able to seat us at a table along the window which had a better ambiance. Joey our waiter was excellent! Personable, knowledgeable and a great recommender of books! He is a big reason why we will come back. We enjoyed the mussels; very tasty though 4 were closed so couldn’t eat them, shared the beet salad and enjoyed our entrees of sea bass and halibut. Everything was delicious and nicely presented. Can’t wait to come back.
High quality sashimi, great atmosphere, we will be back
It is the new restaurant with good food and services!
First time at this new Carmel spot. The space looks great; really like the decor. Our food was awesome and the service was great!
Always a pleasure to dine at Monterey. We love this little gem tucked away in the busiest intersection of Carmel. Top notch service, presentation and menu!
Outstanding quality of food and service. I’ve been three times and received the same superior service and outstanding food every time
Our server Lauranne was very nice. However I felt we could have had a better dining experience if she were more attentive to us. After our first drink we sat for a while waiting to order our next. I waived your indicate we needed something. She brought our entrees when they were ready however after the first few bites we quickly determined we did not like one of the rolls we ordered. We did not eat that toll. Our server did not return until the end of our meal. She saw that we did not eat one of the rolls and asked if we needed a box but did not ask how anything was. I also did not speak up. I just hate being one of those people. The roll we didn’t like was $18. We left hungry so we went home and ate peanut butter filled pretzels and drank water to satisfy our appetite. The other food was excellent. I had such high hopes.
This new restaurant is in the heart of the Carmel Arts District with a great atmosphere, large bar, and yummy sushi! Will visit again soon.
Excellent sea bass and tuna. Will definitely be back
Awesome to have this in Carmel!
All good!! Lunch was fantastic, the service was spot on!!
Terrific food and atmosphere. Love the mussels and Napa salad!
Derek was flawless! Great service and tasty food! And the brownie - the brownie! Will definitely be going back!
Food was delicious and service was excellent!
First time at Monterey and everything was first class. Two of my guests were from New Hampshire and felt the seafood, especially the oysters, were as good as those found in East Coast restaurants. I will be back!
The meal and service were very good . i had the Tuna rare, probably should have ordered it med-rare , but it was very good.
