Best place ever for sushi. It was excellent. Small place made for excellent conversation. House red wine was also outstanding.
Best sushi in town. Service is excellent. Their happy hour is great.
My friends and I went for my birthday the other day. Our server was nice. The food was amazing. But then I guess he made some rude comments to my friends when they told him it was my birthday and he said something on the lines of they were trying to get free stuff. Then he rung up the wrong bill with our cards. So our cards were rung twice and now we have pending transactions for two bills, which is now 5 days later and it still hasn’t been released back into our accounts. Over all food was great as always; service was very subpar.
Our waiter was very helpful explaining items on the menu. He also provided helpful suggestions of what to try. We really enjoyed our meal. The nigiri was very fresh and paired well with the sauces and vegetables from the chef’s selection. The mango mochi was the perfect dessert to finish it off.
One of the best restaurants in Bozeman. They have incredible staff and incredible food- I will eat here forever.
I had a good experience the first time, but the second experience was not ideal.
Service slow when the restaurant wasn't busy
Credit card was charged the wrong amount- This might be why it took so long to close out
Incredible hot- the heat must have been turned up too high, but I was also near the window to be fair
Rolls- on the bland side
Seated at a table much too small for our party
Thank you for visiting us on multiple occasions and I really appreciate the feedback. Ticket times are something we have been working on, especially on off nights (sundays) when we are sometimes surprised by a larger influx of customers. I will review all of your points with our staff and work to improve the experience. We hope you come back and give us another chance sometime soon! Best Luke
Excellent service, friendly staff, great atmosphere, fresh & flavorful sushi.
Great environment, excellent sushi and awesome service! We always have a great meal every time we go here.
Food was really slow and a bit on the spendy side for the offerings. Too many cooked “sushi” options
Delicious sushi! Would recommend it to a friend. A little expensive and noisy but very good food and ambiance.
I have been here multiple times and have had the same experience each time. Fantastic service with an amazing menu. I highly recommend Montana Fish Co. Without a doubt the best sushi in Bozeman.
Only good things come from the Chef's Recommendation.
Great food. Be sure to also ask about the cooked fish dishes which are also excellent as are their sashimi and sushi rolls.
Great, fresh fish. Attentive and knowledgeable service. Don’t miss this restaurant
Great atmosphere and delicious rolls. The staff is very friendly and they have a good selection of beers and sake.
Very fun, had a very interesting time at the sushi which I would definitely recommend.
Almost everything on the menu is spicy! Even chefs choice options, nigiri are spicy! Never used to be like this before.
New favorite restaurant in Bozeman! Very fresh, creative and delicious.
For the most part the food quality had been standout. However on this last visit the tonkatsu broth for the ramen wasn’t as rich as a previous visit. Fish and rice quality on the sushi side has remained very high.
On both my visits I encountered service “hiccups,” not necessarily fails, that diminished the overall experience: incorrect items entered, items not entered (or fired), tickets misplaced.
What ruined the meal was the service. We were a table of four that arrived at 6pm - restaurant was not packed. We ordered a starter of tuna tartare. For main entrees, two people ordered ramen bowls, one ordered a noodle bowl and one ordered two sushi rolls. After waiting quite a while and asking when food would be coming out, the server finally brought out the three bowl orders, so one person had no food while the other three had their main entrees. About 10 minutes later the "starter" came out. Then, another 10 minutes went by and the fourth person's order finally arrived. Super annoying and unprofessional.
Montana Fish Company is a must try if you enjoy sushi. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable and we loved all of his recommendations. The atmosphere is fun and open with a comfortable noise level. It's a great spot for a date, special event, or just a fun casual night out. Sit at the bar for a special occasion and allow the chefs to prepare a completely customized menu for you of nigiri and sashimi.
This is one of our favorite places to eat in Bozeman. Great happy hour, best sushi in town and fun servers.
It was great in every aspect. The waitresses were amazing and always had a smile on their faces. The food was amazing. It was our 3rd year anniversary and it Setup the mood for me to propose to my girlfriend (Fiancé) shortly after! We will definitely be coming back!
We decided to try something new but unfortunately were a little disappointed. Moving to Montana from the PNW I am probably sushi spoiled. Montana Fish Co was nice but terribly overpriced in my opinion. The best way I could describe it was “artisan sushi”. The rice in the rolls was very thick and the flavors were a little odd. Service was very good however :)
We enjoy the sushi, the quiet atmosphere yet the Main St location. We’ve not been disappointed in the food ever.
We love to ask our server to bring his suggestions. Adam serves us frequently and knows what we like. His choices are often new but never too much. MFC knows Sushi better than any place in Bozeman. Highly recommend.
Went there on a Sunday only to find out they no longer did 2 sushi rolls for$25. Our server brought us back a coupon for the special. Super kind. The food is excellent. We eat there often.
I sat outside on a beautiful summer day in Bozeman and ate sushi and drank sake for two hours. It was idyllic. And the sushi and sashimi were excellent. 8-8.5 out of 10. Spider roll was a 10. I reordered, it was that good. The Snow Maiden sake was superb as always. The kitchen and service team were so awesome — really delightful people.
I eat all over the world, a sort of mini Bourdain. I’m not a food snob but I am a terrible sushi snob. Terrible. Montana Fish Company May not have the most elegant of names for a sushi restaurant, but in the end, who cares? They knocked it out of the ballpark. Two thumbs up. Can only post four photos — ate a lot more!
It was my birthday and the food was great, as usual. Had to ask for our check then ask for it again once it had been taken. It took a very long time. A nice man comped one of our drinks.
I am from the SF Bay Area and can say that the sushi here is the best I’ve tasted. I really did not expect to enjoy such fresh and delicious sushi in Montana. Great service and the highest quality fish expertly prepared.
Mine & my husbands new date night restaurant of choice. Love, Love sitting at the bar visiting with Rob. Rob is an amazing sushi chef and extremely knowledgeable about all the fresh fish and sushi options Montana fish company has to offer. We have never found this at any other sushi restaurant in Bozeman. We find this just makes our date night much more special. All their fish is outstanding and by far the best quality you will find in Bozeman, as well as their service, expertise, atmosphere and prices.
We sat at the bar for some hopeful interaction with the sushi chef but they all seemed to be uninterested in even telling you which sushi roll you were eating unless you asked. I think interaction is key in a place like this and it just wasn’t there at all.
Freshest fish in Bozeman!
The food is great! I come here for the sashimi but they have good sushi as well. The appetizer menu is a great selection of Japanese cuisine. However, it is not totally traditional Japanese--expect a bit of Americanization to the items on the menu. I don't drink but they seem to have a great list of Wines to include Sake. The servers are always friendly. In regards to seating, the bar seating is always full so make a reservation. The other seating is a bit cramped. Their is really only one table that is spacious enough so you don't feel like your eating dinner with the people at the table next to you. Overall though, it's a minor complaint due to the high quality of the food.
Great spot for sushi and a very accommodating to our fairly large group
Nice fresh sashimi, great miso soup, good selection of standard and specialty rolls. The best sushi spot in Bozeman of the 3-4 we’ve tried.
Service was exceptional!!! The sushi and sashimi was outstanding and they timed the food coming out impeccably. Highly recommend it!
Met up with some old friends to celebrate my birthday. Our server was great and patient with our questions. Pretty pricy, but it was the best fish I know I will ever have this far from the ocean. They do run great deals, so we didn't have to totally break the bank. Pretty relaxed atmosphere, bar next door where you can wait for your table if you're early for your reservation.
Unmatched happy hour value! Call ahead and reserve online.
