Monsoon: Steak & Sushi
Book your next event with us
The service was bad when it first opened and it hasn’t improved after giving the restaurant another chance. Looks like the restaurant is failing as in- it was 8pm on a Saturday and empty. No wonder they are giving away gift cards to try to bring people back to eat.
Great place, loved it. Brought a 1st date there and would definitely recommend this restaurant
I’m writing to you about our experience at dinner. I’m disappointed and sad to say that although the food was amazing, the experience was not. Let me start by saying, I love all of your restaurants and frequent many. We even had our post wedding dinner at tellers! We didn’t try monsoon yet so decided last night to give it a try. We ordered the table side wagyu and the guy dropped it at our table and explained the stone would not stick after first piece of meat and don’t put the sauces on the stone. We didn’t know how to use it so my husband thought you had to remove the top part and ended up with severe burns on his hand. I had no idea this happened, we have 2 kids and I’m pregnant with our third so we never get out and he didn’t want to ruin our very rare date night.
I’m annoyed because of this - I think they should tell you exactly what to do, especially as first time diners at this particular location. We’d like to come back one day but really wish you’d address this issue. What if someone had kids with them? I hope it doesn’t happen again.
The food was absolutely delicious! We went during their Anniversary Week and did the price fixe. I also included the wine pairings they offered. All of the wines paired perfectly and were soo good. I’ll definitely be returning!
No wait no hassle at the bar. Entrées were good
appetizers a bit small In serving
The food was good but since it was Mother’s Day, I was expecting to have steak & sushi! We had 1:00 reservations and we were only able to order from a specific Brunch menu! Usually on every occasion, even Restaurant Week, you are able to choose from the Special menu as well as their regular menu! I asked the waiter if we could order anything off the menu but we we told “No, I’m sorry.” I was very disappointed!
We went there for Mothers Day and had the steak and eggs brunch. The steak was out of this world!
Eggs were just warm when they arrived but that's ok. Service was excellent.
Great food as usual, the service was slacking a little.
Our waitress was amazing !!! I wish I remembered her name so I can give great feedback!!! Would go back because of her!
The perfect setting for "Date Night". When we were first seated Ashley stopped by to say hello, welcome us back, and introduce us to Jonathon, our server for the evening. We were pleasantly surprised as we had met her once, a month prior, and she was delightful. The rest of the evening was spent isolated in our own private world and Jonathon respected that, and was quietly attentive and respectful. My friend was looking forward her favorite dinner, Roast Duck, and proclaimed it "The Best She's Ever Had"! The entire staff was incredibly accommodating. At the end of the evening we realized we were the last diners, and never once did we feel rushed. We could not have asked for a better dining experience and look forward to our return!
To be clear everyone was super nice but I would never go back. The table was sticky, there was lint on my water glass and had to ask for a clean one. I ordered the pork belly buns and they were gross, tasted and stank like raw pork. Pork fried rice was tasteless(how can you mess rice up???), NY strip was so dry it wasn’t edible. Employees were more concerned on who was coming in downstairs than taking care of the seated guest. Carpets are so gross they went from red to black. Very disappointing and amazed this is part of the Boulsen Group.
I wasn't the greatest being shoved in a corner in the back of the restaurant. Being treated like second class never feels great. I have had better food for a lower price. Sushi at this location is not exceptional.
it took half an hour to 45 minutes for food to come. Very dark had to use flashlight to read menu.We ordered Roast Pork fried rice as a side with our meal and it had no roast pork in it, absolutely none, told the waitress, she took it back, and brought us a new one and it still had no roast pork. Very disapointed, we had heard good things, but the people we heard from don't get out much i guess. Will never go back, also no place to park and the restaurant was empty on a saturday night, had to park blocks away
Best time ever! Keep up the good work.
Love Monsoon, it is one of our go to places- we always know we are going to have a great meal, not going to be rushed and the services will be amazing.
Restaurant Week, pre fix 3 course. Sat upstairs and Food was great. After dinner they had a DJ downstairs so grabbed a drink at the bar and had some fun. Definitely recommend
Overall a nice dining experience. A bit loud. somewhat pricey. Food was good, nice size portions. the building is gorgeous and location in Beautiful Babylon Village makes it worth it.
We had such a lovely date night at Monsoon, the food was out of this world and the wine was amazing. We had a great server who was very friendly and polite. Service was quick and staff was great.
Service was great. Restaurant had a strange odor.
The food was good. And the portion was large
I am a frequent patron at H2O however this week we decided to try Monsoon. I was very disappointed at the portion sizes as compared to h2O as well as the fact the meals came with no sides or bread for the table. Also, approximately 8 hours after dining here I became violently ill and threw everything up...that was all I had eaten that day. I would not recommend this restaurant moving forward but will gladly Go back to h2o in the future.
I was excited to finally try this place in our neighborhood but was disappointed. I enjoyed the ambience however the service was awful and the food was just ok. We waited a solid 15 minutes to order after we asked for 1 quick minute to look at the menu. The apps arrived quickly but was a long time before dinner came and when it did, the buns were still frozen in the middle. Our server wasn't very visible and had to wave someone down about the frozen buns and also to get a drink refill. Nothing was comped or at least offered a complimentary dessert, even though there was acknowledgement from our server on long wait times + manager came by to give us new buns.
Place was really beautiful.
Great food and great Saki
Monsoon has made it's way to the top of my favorite LI restaurants. The food was delicious, prepared exactly as ordered and well presented. (Do not miss the Monsoon Roll or brussel sprouts...WOW! )
The staff was knowledgeable, friendly and timed everything they did perfectly. Kudos to the management team...excellent job!
Great food snd service. The decor is real nice. The wait staff oays attention to your needs. The drinks are always perfectly made.
Doug is an awesome manager!....the staff are great!
This restaurant is truly our favorite. Ashely was our waitress & she was outstanding! The food was great as usual. Would definitely recommend.
I came in with my mom and sister to celebrate my birthday and the food was great and so was our server Nick and and I appreciated monsoon giving me a birthday gift card as well ❤️
Very disappointing experience. In a restaurant with many empty tables, we were walked upstairs to the last table, near the kitchen and bathroom. We refused it, and then seated in the next to last table . Rather than leave we took it. The main flavoring seemed to be very salty soy sauce, which ruined the taste of a nice steak. The seared tuna was mushy, and exchanged graciously for the Panko chicken, which was tasty. Service was good, but not up to the standards of other restaurants in the chain. We’ve been at monsoon before and remember a much better experience.
We love the variety of food we tasted. Brought another couple with us who was impressed with every dish.
Delicious once again! You won't go wrong if you order the short ribs, pork buns, or basically anything!
The Restaurant needs a good restaurant manager to keep the place smoothly running. Our waiter was nice but there were several other junior staff who didn't seem to have a purpose and were hovering over our table to collect our plates. Our waiter seemed overworked and we didn't see him much. The food portions were very small and the prices very high. Disappointing. The presentation of our food was not what I would expect from this location. There didn't appear to be an effort. Quality touches that can support these prices are missing. My mojito was watery but the margarita we also tried was better. The fun part is the decor and the upbeat atmosphere. We were there on a Friday night so there was a clubby vibe and dancing after 11pm. That was fun. The setting inside Monsoon is really really nice and a visual delight, but sadly the presentation of the food and the service does not match.
Ehh this place is perpetually average, but it’s a beautiful atmosphere so it’s s cool place to go.
Awesome food. Never disappoints. Our waitress was terrific and so very friendly. A pleasure
Excellent restaurant! Delicious gourmet food! Exceptional service! Beautiful ambience! I love monsoon 🙂
Nice atmosphere, super fresh sushi. Kid friendly and great deals on Sunday.
We went with our 5 kids. Great food and service! We will be back again!
I love gong to Monsoon the drinks and food are so good. Its a classy place where you can dine
with your friends. The food is just amazing and the staff are super nice.
Amazing...as it always is!!!
we had the montauk roll and the ell roll and they were the best that we have had, the sushi platter for 2
which also gave the dish a great flavor and very delicious....the fried rice was very tasty along with dumplings....still thinking about our experience 3 days later... the food has improved,,,we will be back.
