Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman is a place where foodies, beer lovers, and families escape the stresses of their day to day lives by enjoying an ice cold beer and a great meal while surrounded by people who consider them honored guests and friends.

Our restaurants are founded upon a passion for craft and we are dedicated to mastering the craft of food, drink, and merrymaking…with Aloha! Our menu features fresh island fish, hand tossed pizzas from our kiawe wood burning oven, and homemade pies made from scratch.

Thirty-six craft beers served at twenty-nine degrees are on tap, representing the coldest beer and best selection of microbrews on the island. Our culinary cocktails feature unique ingredients such as acai spirit, coconut water, and Kula lavender. Our passion for craft also extends to our diverse wine list, which emphasizes sustainability, drinkability and fun.

    Loved this place!!! Went three days in a row during happy hour. The Mai Tai was delish and the Lilikoi foam on top was pretty and inventive. The pizzas were great, as were the wings. Corn chowder was a little spicy but sooo good. And the lobster deviled eggs were great! Loved the open air dining and live music. Will repeat this place!

    If you like to pay too much for very little food, this is the place for you. The food is good, not great and the prices are higher than they should be. Our server was great, but didn't make up for the expensive dinner.

    It’s lost its charm 🙁 the drinks were not as good and the food was very mediocre. The mai tai was not nearly as good as it was a few years back. We made three dinner reservations for the week, after the first visit, we canceled the other reservations. I think because of their location, it really doesn’t matter. If the food is mediocre, they won’t lose the business.

    We enjoyed a good meal at Monkeypod. Not great, just good. The food was late, an ordered mai tai never came and we were seated right in front of the band so it was loud. There was supposedly an issue with their system and then a large table in front of us so at 70 mins past our arrivals, we were still hungry and waiting for food. If you go, go early before the dinner crowd arrives. You will have better luck.

    Food is tasty and really appreciate how they locally sourced as much as possible and make things from scratch. But the service took our experience to a new level. Joey was our server he was knowledgeable on the menu and handled some minor issues with our food with such professionalism and understanding. Made the whole dining experience very enjoyable.

    We were celebrating a Girl's Trip in Barber's Point. We made a reservation at Monkeypod because we had heard such good things about it. The restaurant did not disappoint. Everything was EXCELLENT! Best food ever. Our server J-Royce was phenomenal. This one dinner was absolutely the best part of our trip (I think it was because of the amazing MaiTais.

    Nice location, and servers were very nice. But the important part, the food needs more care. Salads were good, drinks were good. Grilled chicken wings were tiny and burnt black, burgers were overly salty (maybe pre-salted?) and too big to easily eat, along with being too greasy.

    The food quality was very poor. The prices have gone up a lot. Service was great tho. Overall I was very dissatisfied w/ the overall experience. I ate at this restaurant before and had a overall better experience then. I probably will not go to this chain restaurant again. Even tho there’s a closer one by my house.

    Very cool open air Hawaiin Restaurant. We sat upstairs which was definitely the place to be, no ocean views but great ambiance. Loved their Cocktails and the Food was unique, interesting and reasonable portions. We would definitely go again.

    One of the worst experiences ever! Our server never asked if we had a food allergy and I do. I’m allergic to bell peppers and it was not in the description on the menu. When the food runner came out with the food and it had bell peppers on it. She immediately took it back. The server Hana nor the manager came over until my husband called her over. The manager came over after we were done eating and getting the bill to apologize. By the time my food came out my husband was done eating! We had reservations to go again the last night of our vacation but we canceled. Extremely disappointed!

    This was the highlight meal of our honeymoon in Hawai’i (and yes this includes everything out of both islands we went to). We were so impressed by the food and service we canceled our fancy dinner downtown just to come back a second time. Aly and Torrie were both fantastic each of the times we went.     Server was amazing. Drinks were good but the food was mediocre. The poke tacos were the best thing we ordered but the macadamia nut crusted fish was dry and certainly not worth the price.

    $25 kids menu fish? That’s a joke. My adult entree was cheaper. Hostess and her gaggle of people hanging around seemed uninterested and rude. We asked not to sit in the sun with our young toddlers and they huffed and rolled their eyes.
