Momofuku Seiōbo serves a tasting menu for $185 per person. Executive Chef Paul Carmichael draws inspiration from his Caribbean heritage and the bounty of Australian ingredients.

Interesting food not easily found elsewhere. Full of flavour although can be a little heavy and oily for some dishes. The cleanser was great for this. Get a seat where you can view all the chefs preparing your food. Memorable dining that's good for special occasions.

We named our WA Marion Dave and Steve, and boy were they tasty; the highlight of the night. Momofuku Seiōbo is a casual dining at its finest. There is no pretentiousness here and the wife and I were glad of our selection from the multitude of capable and delicious options available in Sydney.

The food came at a surprise, as we had previously dined in New York at Momofuku Noodle bar, we were expecting a similar feel and style. How pleasantly surprised when we were transported to the Caribbean. Salty, spicy and sweet, no punches held back as the courses continued. In addition an inspired pairing of sake and wines (cognac wine? didn't even know that was a thing) made our night even better.

We enjoyed the intensity and diversity of flavours, and the inventiveness of the food. Absolutely different. Unfortunately, we are not fans of "natural" wines and found the Gruner Veltliner (even after we queried the winemaking style/type) was not to our liking but, in deference, it did work with the food. The food, however, was exceptional.

The restaurant was a huge disappointment. We were expecting it to be as good as Oscillating Wildly. It was very expensive. The majority of the dishes were excessively salty.
The desserts weren’t bad.
I would not recommend the restaurant and would never go there again.

This was my second visit and it was just as good as the first! The range of dishes is excellent, with the best quality ingredients prepared with a great deal of care to achieve an amazing dining experience. I always learn something new about food dining here - and the matching wine pairing is always exactly what I want to go with my meals. The staff are attentive without being bothersome and informative without being know-it-all. This is my "must dine" in Sydney, if I have enough lead time to get a booking!

Dined here on Monday night as my birthday treat as had wanted to try this for a long time and we were not let down. The food was elegant, exquisite and utterly delicious. The service was excellent as all the staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable.
My personal favourite was Marron with coconut bake but for every dish the flavour combinations were brilliant and presentation was beautiful. The atmosphere and overall ambience was very relaxing.
Highly recommended by me :)

Our evening at Momofuko was a truly memorable one.

I will start by saying 85% of staff were excellent. The other 15% where okay but lacking knowledge and communication skills. When you spend around $600 for two people you expect an experience! The food was okay, not to the standard of other restaurants within this price category, But most disappointing was the quality of the wine pairing. There were no winds of significant value or interest. Another disappointment was that when you attend high-end restaurant degustation you would expect some form of beef or veal or venison or even lamb. But out of 13 courses, two deserts, the highlight protein was a small fin slice of pork. My wife and I are complete foodies and love a degustation and search the world for it. This was one of the poorest digger stations, certainly at its price point.

I took my brother to Momofuku Seiobo to celebrate his 50th birthday, and it turned out to be one of our most memorable dining experiences. The food was stunning on every level, the staff were genuine in their kind and welcoming approach to us - you could say it was hospitality personified. Thanks guys, we'll be back!

This is a dining experience not to be missed! Based on the name of the restaurant, I was expecting a Japanese inspired menu, however with the exception of some Sake on the matched Beverage list, this was certainly not the case.

We were presented with a multitude of delicious courses - the majority Caribbean inspired. The beverage paring was great (I write Beverage Pairing purposely as it was NOT for the most part matched wine), we had Sake, Cider, Sherry to name a few.

My Wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the evening, and money permitting I would certainly go back.

Momofuku Sydney achieves a rare thing : it delivers on the hype - it lives up to, and arguably exceeds, expectations! I'd definitely recommend it for those seeking a classy dinner for a special occasion, and those who simply appreciate cleverly conceived, refreshingly original, and lively, exciting flavours in a pleasantly relaxed atmosphere. Ideally, sit a the bar if you wish, as watching the kitchen team prepare the food adds to the overall experience. Very memorable, and we will definitely be returning!

I knew as soon as I was coming to Sydney that I needed to book my reservation here. I heard wonderful things coming into my trip and they did not disappoint. I had the tasting menu with a partial wine paring and a direct view into the chef's preparing the dishes. They asked me to pick my favorite course but I struggled to choose just one. The entire tasting was a journey and each piece was a critical stop along the way. Choosing just one? No the whole thing.
As an unexpected bonus, I was seated next to a woman who was part of the Chang corporation. She was excellent company and a wonderful ambassador to the brand.

Love Momofuku! Just as amazing second time around :) the menu is so creative and polished- the marron, cassava chips, pork, and omg that pumpkin tart... and the kitchen sent us a beautiful banoffee meringue cake because we were celebrating my brothers birthday, which was delicious too! I honestly cannot choose a favourite dish! Highly recommend!

Loved eating here. All the dishes were delicious. They had a variety of textures and tastes which some degustations lack. Presentation was great also. Only con was their cocktail menu wasn't amazing. Would definitely recommend.

Really really good fine dining experience. Love love loved how all the flavours weren't shy. Felt super satisfied with every single course. The first few courses were especially amazing.

I was telling my partner that we would have to start forgoing eating out so much and save up so we can eat at Momofuku a few times a year.

This was our 2nd time dining at Momofuku and we felt that the menu was not as good as the last time we dined there. It was pretty disappointing as we took our daughter and son in law to celebrate a business success and the men left hungry. As the menu changes at Momofuku unfortunately we picked a day that the menu just wasn't sufficient for what we paid.

Impeccable presentional, delicious food and interesting ingredients that make you think about the food. I loved the open kitchen and getting a chance to talk with the chefs. The pairing was very well done and kept you thinking from start to finish. I would definitely recommend momofuku to others and I will be back again.

The food was creative Caribbean. It was very flavorful and inventive using traditional Caribbean dishes and ingredients. The chefs catered to diet restrictions quite impressively - at no time did it feel like you were getting something else that was so different in the experience - great substitute of ingredients. Loved the chef tasting approach, not having to think about the 10 courses. The portions were a bit small and the experience a little overpriced. Sitting at the kitchen was great however none of the chefs looked happy at all. They all looked like they didn’t want to be there and not much engagement in the food delivery. Watching them actually caused me to have a less than optimal experience. Save for this element of service, it was worth a visit.

A special occasion place for sure, but the food, beverages and service were fantastic. We did the full course menu ($185) and beverage pairing ($110) AUD. The fusion of West Indian and Australian foods can’t be beat!

The service was great with a full explanation of each dish, a full review of the drink paring and a couple of extras to make the meal simply unforgettable! The hostess that evening , Saturday Feb 24th) and sommelier definitely made this meal extraordinary!

Also has a chill vibe, no need for overly formal dress and this place is casual chic.

Highly recommend for a special night out or visit to Sydney.

Good service, but the food just wasn’t that great. Also only 2 mains before desert. Most degustations at this price point are serving a lot more food. Would not recommend.
