Food was decent. Mollie did not want to take a selfie with us. Service was so slow. They took forever to give us our check. Not sure she can classify the treat that came before the check a “cookie”. I can never turn down a cookie but I took one bite then hid it in my napkin as I did not want to be rude and put it back on the plate. Although once everyone else tasted it, they did the same. All in all, it was an ok experience but probably would not revisit. There are too many other restaurants that are so good, they make it to our regular rotation list. Unfortunately, Mollie’s does not qualify.
Ambiance and food are fabulous!! Mollie was there making sure guests were enjoying their food and dining experience. Will definitely return when we are next in Santa Barbara.
UCSB graduation celebration for my granddaughter! We enjoyed some of the tastiest Italian food I have ever had. The wait staff went above and beyond to make it a special meal and experience. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Always a special treat to dine here. Food was exceptional and service is impeccable. Always great to support a family owned and operated business.
It was my birthday and we made reservations stating it was my birthday. The table wasn’t ready for us and the service was really slow. My daughters pizza was great but the gnocchi wasn’t tasty for my other two daughters. They can be picky so I can’t blame Mollies for that. The service was painfully slow, even for the desserts. It was pretty chilly and I had to ask three times to get the heater turned on to keep us warm outside. Overall, I felt underwhelmed by the experience. We’ve been there 3-4 other times before covid and it was excellent. I’m so disappointed, we just don’t go out very often these days and to spend the time and money on a fine dining experience which was mediocre is just disappointing
Great date night restaurant experience.
Mollies never fails to deliver a delightful and delicious experience. Lovely service, extensive but flexible menu, there is something for everyone. Lovely way to celebrate Mother’s Day! Unexpected tiramisu included, just delicious.
Had out of town guests. The menu is very extensive and I’ve never ordered anything that wasn’t excellent. Great salads, wide variety of pasta dishes. Our friends were thrilled with both the ambiance and the food. Thanks!
It was a birthday celebration. Food (daily specials) was outstanding. Service was attentive.
Could not have asked for more. We will return soon.
Bc of covid we sat outside. The service was wonderful, attentive and friendly. Food was excellent!
I had a reservation and when I get at the restaurant they were close, well done to informe your guests.
Great evening! I love sitting outside on State Street. And love the artichoke salad!
Accepted to UCSB!!!
We enjoyed a quiet socially distanced dinner on a weekend getaway. They were very accommodating and accepted the open table points reward too! We had the shrimp paparadelle and the veal piccata. Both were divine
Charming low key Italian restaurant in mid-town Santa Barbara; food was excellent and staff was very friendly. Quieter than many local restaurants and thoroughly enjoyable. Varied menu, all prepared carefully and well plated. A find; we will definitely be back.
Everything we ordered was delicious! We had pizza, pasta, lasagna and shank. the service was wonderful as well.
Hostess was friendly and helpful. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation (which was the first reservation time for dinner). The owner/manager was yelling at staff and generally not a person you would want representing the restaurant. She hugged customers. She was wearing a mask, but was not a good role model for social distancing. Fortunately, our waitress was awesome. The foot was cooked perfectly. Overall, a good experience because of the staff. Would have left if the owner/manager had been interacting with us.
We had a special evening out after a long year of shutdowns and really loosing the past year. We absolutely LOVED our meal.. it was excellent! As for our waiter...? Not as thrilled. We had ordered a certain bottle wine and he brought back a half bottle of the wine I ordered saying you were out of that full bottle but this other wine he had in hand, was very good. I asked, “is the price comparable?
He said, oh no.. so he was trying to upswell us without letting us know. We went back n fourth on a couple other bottles of wine and I finally decided on one that was $52. It sucked. Could not believe the prices of the red wine. Starting at 43 on up to 245. We had 52 and it was not good. Maybe check your stock and especially check your waiters. We will be back again because the food is amazing... but if we experience anything close to what we did last Sat night..? We won’t be...
They were very accommodating since we were outside and it was very windy. They set a table up for us in a small alcove out of the wind and put a heater next to us so we were very comfortable.
Delicious, authentic Italian food and excellent service. Highly recommend it!
Just not what it used to be in Montecito, eating on the sidewalk certainly didn't help.
Great spot for delicious Italian food in a really cute outside dining spot on State Street
Went for Valentine’s Day and was disappointed - service was good but restaurant was slammed and there only appeared to be 2 servers for the entire place. Food took more than 45 minutes and was poor quality and bland. Tasted as if it had been frozen. The coffee maker was broken and restaurant was chaotic when I attempted to use the restroom. Not worth the price.
I had made a reservation 2 weeks before Valentines Day, the night we went. They put us on a table on the sidewalk next to the Granada Theatre. The waiting line to get into the restaurant next door formed right next to our table. We had no light to see our menus and no heater. We were cold the whole time while people watched us eat while they stood in line. The food wasn’t that great either, they were out of certain ingredients that made up each dish. Just a horrible Valentines Day dinner! 😤
Although we had reservations and asked for a warm area outdoors they first tried to seat us far from a heater. It was a cold and windy evening. We stood for ten minutes until a table was cleared for us to sit next to a heater. It was windy and the heaters were not enough. The service was slow, water promised but never brought, we had to ask twice to get my fiancés tea. The food was tasty, vegetables a bit cold. Bass and spinach ricotta crêpe excellent, minestrone soup okay, lentil soup could have come from a can. Who knows? They seemed short-staffed, although it was Valentine's Day. I know these are difficult times. Yet. We had reservations for Christmas Day previous. When all dining in was canceled we assumed they would be open for take out. They did not notify us they would be closed nor cancel our reservation. We were giving them another try. Not again soon.
We froze! No heaters, and service was pretty poor.
Valentine’s Day dinner outside and was a beautiful night. Food was great but server was no where to be found after initial orders. Recommend Parmesan cheese to be offered standard but soup came plain and pastas so had to get another server to bring those items . Food was fresh and delicious!!
Had a great dinner even with outside seating. Staff did their best even though windy
We had a wonderful Valentine’s Day dinner. We both ordered the chicken cacciatore and it was perfect. Tender and flavorful.
Mollies food was fantastic; the staff was friendly, attentive, and helpful. Their outdoor setup was very nice and the atmosphere was lively. The risotto and bolegnese were cooked to perfection and reminded me of my Italian grandmothers home cooked recipes.
Delicious pizza and pasta that we enjoyed in spite of dining outdoors on a cold night! They've created a lovely space with heaters.
Food was delicious! Staff was kind & we loved sitting outside
Wonderful outdoor dining with plenty of heating -food perfect as always and happy friendly service. The veal and fish were exceptional.
Menu looked great. Made a reso on OpenTable. Confirmed said reservation through text. Arrived to find the restaurant closed. I understand it’s Covid, but come on. It’s not hard to turn off reservations on OT. Had same experience 10 minutes prior at Stella Mare. Made for a stressful birthday dinner for my wife.
Branzino Was cold. service was great.
Due to the shelter-at-home order that our governor decreed in December, extending it further into January, Mollie's could not honor the reservation although it was made successfully on open table. I even received an email reminder of the impending reservation the day before the reservation date. So there needs to be some clearer communication between open table and restaurants that have been needlessly shut down during the pandemic. Shelter-at-home is clearly not working in California. We would have fewer coronavirus cases if there were more and safer places to go, especially over the holidays. To be held up indoors in close quarters with family and friends that have been unwittingly infected at the essential places of business like Costco, Target, Home Depot, and the grocery store, is killing California now.
Had a great time at Mollie’s. Very romantic and the food was excellent. I definitely recommend the caprese salad and the bruschetta it was delicious! Service was excellent too!
Great food! Even if we had to sit outside in the cold. Well worth the money
