Happy Hour: 3:00pm - 5:30pm
Excellent food and service!
Service was very good!
Delicious food, much like Monkeypod, another fave of mine. Great seating, lots of space, great location as well. Parking garage is dirt cheap with validation.
Server was a little rude when we advised her of a drink tasting wrong, gave the fakest response and when asked for a straw she said they were ocean friendly and didn’t have any, while she had many in her apron... when we asked a different server, we got a straw.
Excellent as usual!
Great experience and everyone enjoyed the food!
A woman brought in her large dog, a german shepard mix. I mentioned to the waiter that I was
allergic and the dog had no service animal notation. He said they could not ask due to medical
privacy. I have read that you can ask 2 questions. 1 Is the dog a service animal required because
of a disability? 2. What work or task has the dog been trained to perform? The woman and dog
were seated inside, not on the lanai. I will NOT return.
We loved our dinner at Moku! Great food- we loved the wings, pizza, burgers, and prime rib! Great cocktails and beer selection as well. Our server Sarah was friendly, helpful and gave great suggestions! Thank you for a great dining experience!
Good food, a bit pricy ($17 hamburgers), excellent service, nice room/atmosphere, and yummy dessert.
Wish the waiter told us there was happy hour going on. Also one order of our truffle fries was all the tiny pieces at the bottom of the bag and it didn’t taste good. We had 2 orders of fries and the other one was the normal size French fries. Food came out pretty quick. Overall good for the price
Service was great, friendly, attentive and fast! Portion size of prime rib could be bigger for price it cost. And prime rib was well done. Pork plate was good. Location and ambiance was nice!
We celebrated our one year anniversary here while on our trip to Hawaii, and we absolutely loved it. One of our favorite meals on this trip. The mahi mahi in the fish sandwich was delicious, and my husband loved his pizza. To top it off they treated us to a complimentary banana cream pie for our anniversary. It was the perfect fresh & light dessert! Also- we really enjoyed the live music that played throughout dinner. Overall- we would definitely recommend!
Great food and service. Location and menu was great for an after work gathering, relaxing and unwinding from the work week.
Party of 2. We arrived 15 min early and was seated promptly. We were given excellent service soon as we entered and the waitress even boxed all our food after we finished. We ordered almost everything off the menu because we wanted to try everything. From three different Pizza's and four different burger's, including other things not worth mentioning like oysters (Not as big, nor good as other high end places). Fish and chips were a one time bite and never buy again type of item. I also didn't care for the wings. The truffle oil fries that seemed so famous on yelp were not good at all. I would say fast food fries were better, lol
However, The pizza, bulgogi taco's, hapa poke, and burgers were really delicious. The strawberry and Banana cream pie was very tasty. The Kona coffee icecream tasted like Safeway, but still enjoyed it with the cornbread.
The restaurant had live music, however; the music was louder than the musicians voice, so it wasn't good at all. Finally, the linen napkins left lint on clothing. They should switch to black or an overall different material.
Overall, we based our review on service, which was 5 stars, along with the bottle of wine and the part of the menu we did enjoy. The server was really attentive. At one time I think we had three server's attending us.
I would describe Moku as a cheap, fun place, with a nice atmosphere to go too after work and relax. But far from closing your eyes and the food melting in your mouth, exciting all your senses, type of good.
Since we were treated so well, I recommend this restaurant to family and friends for friendly gatherings. If you're looking for a more sophisticated menu, I suggest romantic and food enthusiasts to try elsewhere.
Service was great and live music was on point! But may want to get some mosquito punk for outside dining or some mosquito plants. Some of us got eaten up a bit.
Most of the food was yummy. However seemed a bit on the salty side last night. The duck for the duck tacos was quite dry and hard to eat because of the jerky like quality of the duck meat. The pot stickers were a go to item that came in a soy sauce but this time the pot stickers were laying on a bed of the spicy sauce they used for the duck tacos. I rather have the soy. Unless I ordered the wrong thing...
Green beans awesome as always! The fries and Poke were good too! Dessert was sooo good strawberry pie and chocolate!
We went for a Birthday dinner, actually two Birthdays since my Daughter and I have the same Birthday which was 6 September.
My wife has been at Moku's several times but it was a first for my daughter and I and we really enjoyed it.
Great (unusual) food and world class service made a wonderful event for us, we will be back.
Went to have lunch with friends and right off the bat there was a good vibe. We were greeted warmly and everyone there was friendly. We had an awesome waiter named Christian. He was great, nice & personable with a sense of humor. Always checking in on you and never intrusive. The staff there are all attentive, 4 different people, in addition to Christian made sure your water glass never went empty.
The food is pretty good, a lot of different options. We liked that the restaurant uses a lot of fresh local ingredients in the menu. The jidori chicken salad is very good. Duck tacos are a different take on this popular fare and also very good.
Our server was great — friendly and had great enthusiasm. Food was good, but too salty for my taste. Energy level was loud as the place was crowded and there was also live music, not a bad thing though!
Happy Hour is unbelievable! 3-530!
The burgers are pretty good, the pizza is AMAZING, but the lobster deviled eggs ruined the whole experience. $20 for FOUR egg halves (2 eggs total) that have an obscene amount of salt and dill, and like two crumbs of lobster... Seriously?!?! That was a waste of money. But the pizza is good and they have a military discount, so that's cool.
Great for groups and sharing a variety of small plates. Impressive list of drinks, microbrews, wines. Good service and a lively atmosphere. A bit on the noisy side but that’s normal for this kind of place so I wouldn’t discount anything for that.
Always a good time when we get to go to Moku Kitchen..... it is a place that we recommend to friends and out of state guest
A neighborhood gem. Nicely priced, variety of choices and spectacular service!!
Our server was friendly but she was not attentive at all. She was aimlessly wondering around her section, forgetting to take orders, clear plates, and give checks. All of her tables had to flag her down.
Fantastic happy hour specials on drinks, apps and pizza.
I've been to Moku Kitchen before and decided to take my mother and sister who were visiting from the east coast. We were seating at our reservation time and outdoors which was nice as we could enjoy the SALT atmosphere (and I think it's a tad quieter outside too). We started with the green beans and beet salad which were delightful. The green beans are a nice balance of shoyu, ginger a little kick at the end but not too spicy. The beet salad was fresh and totally worth trying. My sister and I had the burgers. Cooked perfectly to order (I like mine Medium Rare and often times it will come out over cooked) The beef is from Big Island and you can really taste the difference! I have mine with provolone and mushrooms and my sister had the cheese burger with garlic truffle fries (so good!) My mother had the fish tacos which she said were tasty but on the overcooked and dry. I think this may be because it was super busy that night but be aware that when you order a dish like this, it's a possibility it can turn out dry... Leave room for dessert! Made in house we had the Chocolate cream pie and it didn't disappoint! Not too rich, not too sweet, a fabulous way to end your meal (share it ;) ) I can not end this review without mentioning our server, John. A super friendly, upbeat person who knows the menu, made great suggestions and was attentive without being overbearing. I can not wait to go back to Moku Kitchen!
Food was good, definitely overpriced (you can go to several upscale restaurants and get essentially the same thing for much less). The server was very nice and knowledgeable. Despite having a reservation, we still had to wait quite a while and the hostess sat several walk ups ahead of us. Not sure why they offer reservations in the first place.
Food and drinks were great. didn’t like the fact that we had to sit outside- but otherwise definitely would eat there again.
We made reservations for 5:30 we arrived on time. Our table was not ready and we had to wait an additional 15 minutes for our table. It was a loud in there, when talking I had to shout a bit in order for the other person across from me to hear me. Our waitress was wonderful and she always checked on us. She was so energetic and nice. Just overall an amazing waitress. She made us forget about feeling irritated that we had to wait an additional 15 minutes for our table. The food was delicious, I enjoyed the garlic truffle oil fries and the Kalua pig pizza.
This is our second visit to Moku's. Food was excellent and quick. Our server was on top of it and kept refilling our wine and water. The hostess was a bit clueless and non-engaging (i think). We showed up at 5:28pm for a 5:30pm reservations and was told to wait....wait for what? Behind us, a party of 8 showed up and they were seated a head of us? OK, they had a table of 8 reserved for them but shouldn't they have had a table for 2 reserved for us? We finally got seated at 540ish after someone left while we were waiting for our reservations. If that's the case, why make reservations?
This was our second visit and loved it both times!
Love this place except it’s to loud to talk amongst ourselves
I ordered the Portuguese Tako Stew and it was very tasty. Tako was tender and there were pieces of fish along with the Portuguese sausage in the stew also. Our server was nice and gave good recommendations on the food.
Nice place. Unique food, but a bit high priced on some items. The music was also nice, but the place is a bit loud so it was sometimes hard to hear each other.
This was my first time going and it was for lunch to celebrate my friends birthday. The staff was very friendly and provided us with a nice booth style seating so we had lots of room and comfortable. The atmosphere was not too noisy so we were able to have a conversation and can hear each other and the interior had a nice rustic look which I liked. The food was good we had the lobster deviled eggs, Bami burger and the duck tacos all very flavorful although the deviled egg had a vinegar taste which was different and too much dill, duck had a roasted which was good combo in the tacos and I really enjoyed the burger not dry but juicy and good flavor with the pickled veggies and enjoyed the strawberry cream pie yum.
Was given great service! Greeted warmly and sat quickly despite a busy lunch day. Waitress was really nice about my lunch date being a bit late. Cocktails and food came out quickly and was fantastic. Had a really good experience and can’t wait to go back.
Service was excellent. Kudos to Sierra for her hospitality. Moreover, the food was great! Definitely made with Aloha.
The food is delicious, the atmosphere is very fashionable and lovely.
However, one of the sales clerks service is the lowest.
For this reason, dinner became the lowest,
· He push into the two-handed pocket and move
· He do not bring it even if I make the same order three times
· Almost all wines of almost fullness are lowered
He is a male clerk from the Philippines ago two months.
He completely licked the Japanese.
The others were friendly and the impression was good, but it is disappointing.
Great mrg and server, ready to share specials and offer menu suggestions
Everyone thinks they’re a critic....
GO AND DECIDE FOR YOURSELF.
You will be glad you did.
