Four key pieces separate us from a traditional steakhouse.

1) We serve ranch specific Alberta Beef. We know our farmers and ranchers personally and respect the hard work they put into produce our beef. We like our beef to be, hormone & antibiotic free and pasture raised. Happy cattle make for better steaks.

2) We are one of just a handful of steakhouses in Canada that serves, Grass-fed, Grain-fed, Wet-aged, Dry-aged and Wagyu beef 365 days a year. Our beef is always fresh never frozen.

AND NOW THE ONLY LICENCED RESTAURANT TO SERVE AUTHENTIC KOBE BEEF

3) We use an 1800o Infrared Grill to cook your steaks. Our grill stays at very consistent high heat versus a traditional open flame grill. The high heat creates a flavourful crust on outside of the steak and leaves a juicy centre.

4) Our décor is warm and modern. The tradition has always been dark wood, leathers and a muted palate for a steakhouse. We broke the mold and decided to add hand selected music that reflects us!

Always an awesome, amazing experience at modern took my daughter for her birthday, the new side options are delicious and they brought back the crab in the jar which is her absolute favourite, highly recommend Modern for that special occasion, celebration and also perfect for date nights. The best steak house in Calgary and possibly North America.

We sat up on the rooftop to find the atmosphere upbeat and friendly. It was a little hot when we started out but the sun gradually moved as the time passed. Our steaks were great! Beautifully cooked to medium-rare. The accompanying sauces were outstanding, especially the Argentinian chimichurri. The ‘Damn good’ fries were exactly that and the mushroom medley delicious. Both sides came as an extra with the steaks. Marina, our server, was generous, kind and warm. Our wines were good, the beer unfortunately was lukewarm rather than icy cold which is the way it should be especially on a hot day. We’d happily recommend Modern Steak. They know their steak!

It was really over priced for the quality of food. The menu is so confusing to navigate around. I won’t recommend this place if you are looking a good meal.

Enjoyed our evening. Starters were superb ( house salad and yucatan prawn cocktail) Mains were good - mixup on the medium/ rare preference but this was sorted. The steaks were great as were the sides.

I acknowledge that the place was busy . Thanks Rotarians. but we were seated, the server told us we had to order immediately . appy ordered . 5 minutes later she requested we order main. appy delivered. main shortly thereafter. finished meal 25 min after sitting.. then didn.t see the server for 45 minutes. had to leave before any offer of coffee/desert. food just ok. I won't rush back.
