Four key pieces separate us from a traditional steakhouse.

1) We serve ranch specific Alberta Beef. We know our farmers and ranchers personally and respect the hard work they put into produce our beef. We like our beef to be, hormone & antibiotic free and pasture raised. Happy cattle make for better steaks.

2) We are one of just a handful of steakhouses in Canada that serves, Grass-fed, Grain-fed, Wet-aged, Dry-aged and Wagyu beef 365 days a year. Our beef is always fresh never frozen.

AND NOW THE ONLY LICENCED RESTAURANT TO SERVE AUTHENTIC KOBE BEEF

3) We use an 1800o Infrared Grill to cook your steaks. Our grill stays at very consistent high heat versus a traditional open flame grill. The high heat creates a flavourful crust on outside of the steak and leaves a juicy centre.

4) Our décor is warm and modern. The tradition has always been dark wood, leathers and a muted palate for a steakhouse. We broke the mold and decided to add hand selected music that reflects us!

    Checked out the new summer menu at Modern Steak and it did not disappoint. Everything was super fresh and well thought out — Steak was cooked perfectly. Service was solid and the room had a great vibe. Definitely worth a visit while the summer menu’s on.

    Arrived at pre-booked time of 6:15 as a group of (9) entertaining guests from South Korea. Beverage service was fairly quick, ordered some intro course dishes and main course, intro course dishes came in an acceptable timeline. At 8:15PM when the restaurant was already fairly empty I had to ask staff when the main course dishes would be served as most at the table were asking when dinner would be served. The response I received was will check on it. Main couses finally were served at 8:25PM. As the organizer I ordered the Cali-Cut Striploin Med Rare. The steak had great presentation, but upon cutting into it found it was tough, and the taste/texture extremely hard to chew and dry. I personally would not recommend the selection and was not overly impressed with the overall lengthy dinner service considering waiting that long for a substandard steak. I did not view the final bill but only assuming with all the liqueur consumed the bill was north of $1000.00

    Overall, it’s a good steakhouse that I’d come again to - it’s modern (hence the name) and the ambiance is very nice, you don’t feel stuffed in an old restaurant with suffocating atmosphere. Food was good, we got a tomahawk steak with two sides, which were pretty decent, steak itself was great as well, appetizers were delicious and drinks were great too. Overall, the dinner was a success but my only minor regret is that I mentioned that we’re celebrating anniversary and upon leaving I saw a “happy anniversary” envelope stack on hostess’s table but none were given to us, which is ok, but kinda disappointing. Would I come here again to dine? Absolutely! To celebrate? Maybe not.

    We went to the rooftop patio when they had the DJ and it was such a fun time! The mimosa flights were incredible, people were dancing and enjoying themselves, and our server was phenomenal. She even topped up our champagne while we were dancing in front of the DJ booth.

    Had a great time last night at dinner. The service that we received was fantastic! The two servers were friendly, and knowledgeable. We like to sit and enjoy each course and never felt any pressure to hurry to order, which I love ! Steaks came out perfect as did the rest of our food. The Beet salad is to die for. The only small issue we had was we were seated next to a party of about 15 that were loud and making it hard to hear each other talk. However our server moved us right away when asked to a different table and it was perfect. Would definitely recommend this place ! Will be back soon.
