Service attentif et souriant. Atmosphere chaleureuse. Repas correct.
Lunch on a Sunday afternoon. It is often difficult to have a nice lunch on a Sunday afternoon, as many restaurants are closed and others focus more on a brunch type menu. Modavie is a Bistro well known for good food and live Jazz in the Old Montreal district. They were open and I had an enjoyable lunch. I chose a duck confit with a mushroom risotto. It was quite nice and went well with an accompanying glass of Malbec. Service was polite and attentive. At this time on a cold day with freezing rain it was a quiet time, but the food and service were comforting and enjoyable.
table a bit too close to the entrance,
also the Jazz trio was too far in another section for us to hear,
when to a jazz restaurant to be within the music section of the trio, somewhat of
My husband and I visited Modavie during our honeymoon and had a fantastic time! Our server, Rad, was so friendly and provided impeccable service. He clearly takes great pride in his work, and we truly appreciated that. In addition, the hostess Kiera was very kind and took the time to check in on us throughout our time at Modavie to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. Fantastic restaurant. We will absolutely be back the next time we're in Montreal!
Very good food, quaint romantic atmosphere. Wait staff was extremely professional and inviting
Food was delicious and the service excellent. We had a table of 10 sitting directly next to the jazz band which wasn't the best location for conversation with a table that large. Luckily, the band ended shortly after we got there, and the experience deeply pleasant
We came here for dinner to celebrate my husband's 35th birthday. Music was fantastic - the band was great - and service was very good. I'm not sure if it was the owner who asked us about our experience as we left, but you could tell he was genuinely invested in his restaurant and very happy to hear we enjoyed our evening.
The food was good but not remarkable. I would remember this restaurant for it's great vibe more than it's food.
Loved it! Fabulous service (thank you Rad!), wonderful music, great food! Boyfriend and I will definitely be coming back the next time We are in Montreal!
Great food, good service, amazing band.
Excellent repas et service. Je recommande.
My daughter and I were traveling to Montreal from the US and had an incredible experience here. Rad was so helpful and very charming. The food, service and ambiance were amazing. The music could not have been more perfect. Two thumbs way up!!!
Good food large portions good price
Delicious food for a lovely evening with my hubby!!! Many thanks to Rad for taking such good care of us!!!!
It's tight upstairs, but then I would expect that of a blues venue.
Service was excellent, food was as expected with one minor problem with a rather sour tarte tatin (one out of three) - disappointed it was not taken off the bill as we could not eat it.
Music was great - good mix of blues, good vocals and not so loud that we could not talk.
Great service and nice ambiance. We enjoyed our time.
Always a favorite when we visit the Old Port area. Their lamb dishes are great!
Foie gras to start was bland and disappointing. Duck confit was okay but the mushroom risotto that it was served with had little flavour. Steak frites was good and seasoned well. The french fries are not homemade. Overall disappointed, we came to visit Montreal from Ontario and this was our first night out. We picked the restaurant before we arrived in the city. If you are looking for romantic or fun atmosphere then great place, don't go for the food. We were the only diners and service was extremely slow and painful.
The food was terrible. Very disappointing. Atmosphere and service was great, but also a little loud for intimate conversations of more than 2.
A fantastic place in the old city. Excellent service and amazing ambiance. Felt like a regular as soon as I walked in. I’ll be going back for certain.
Great food, friendly service, and excellent location. Loved the Ratatouille et Quinoa. Live music keeps the place lively.
Excellent service, very good food.I will definitely come back.
Service was flawless, but the food was only OK. Still great experience with the live music!
The food was excellent, the waitress "Imen" was so efficient, thoughtful, and recommended the best wine to pair with the lamb. Very attentive and a sweetheart. She made the place so pleasant to eat, listen to the music, which was just perfect, not too loud & and a great artist.
I would go back to Modavie at any time.
I truly have enjoyed this restaurant in the past but we felt a bit let down. Don't get me wrong: the atmosphere was nice, live music is always a plus, service was great. The food, while definitely nowhere close to being bad, could have been better executed, particular in relation to the price associated with it. We left telling ourselves, "yeah that was just OK".
Great service for a large group of 10! Fantastic food and live jazz to accompany your meal. Excellent choice.
Great food, excellent atmosphere- wonderful way to start our Montreal experience!
Great food and service. Highly recommend this place.
What I liked: great band, nice atmosphere, friendly staff, delicious food.
What I didn’t like: very small portions. The main dishes look like appetizers. I left the reataurant on a half empty stomach. Sure you could order more food, but the value is simply not there. I would go there on special occasions, but this won’t become my weekend hangout spot.
Can’t they put more than 4 bite sized lamb chops on a pricey plate?
Food was not worth it. Service was great. I won’t go back
Ambiance, food, live music were all great. Josianne was our server and she was fantastic.
Probably the best service I have had in a while at any restaurant. It was so good, my wife
and I went back again the next night.
Kinklak docking guildor esti lol
Beautiful restaurant. Onion soup was great. Foie Gras au torchon was disappointing and so was the shrimp cocktail and charcuterie board which is just meats with no cheese. The live music was great and so was the ambiance.
It was a wonderful dining experience, the food, service etc.
