We felt pretty comfortable eating here as everything was outside and they had heaters set up nearby to mitigate the chill from the wind.
First we started with some delicious Scallops Carlitos as an appetizer then followed-up with the Chaufa Pork Belly and Ceviche Chino Peruano which were both amazing in their own right. The pork belly had a great heat to it and the ceviche had a satisfying coolness which balanced it out. As we noshed on our food we sipped on a Martini de Basil y Menta and Pisco Punch which were quite refreshing.
At first my partner didn't realize the pork belly would be spicy and while we waited for the other entree to come out the staff were nice enough to give her a plate of sweet plaintains to cool down.
Overall we really enjoyed our experience here and most importantly felt safe. We will definitely be back someday to try some of the other items on the menu.

Such friendly people and amazing food! Owner Daniel is extremely hospitipal. Roger makes incredible drinks and Kayana is a great server and so nice!

Our second time eating at Mochica. Great experience. Service was excellent. Food was exceptional. Especially the tuna tar tare. Daniel, part of the family that owns Mochica, chatted with us extensively and was very appreciative of our visit. We’ll be back.

We had an outdoor table in the sun with good social distancing in place. The staff were super attentive and the food was great! We had the paella, pollo a la brasa and the pork belly chaufa. We'll be back again soon!

Service was outstanding; friendly and accommodating. One of the dishes was overly salty and she comped us a free dessert. One of our leftovers fell to the ground and she provided some fresh sweet potato fries. Menu is amazing. All dishes were excellent, sans the one salty dish.

The food at Mohica's is 5 star outstanding! All the staff are very welcoming and cordial. Unfortunately, having to eat outdoors was not that great. The street is not level, and the wind at times made conversation difficult.
In spite of the downhill grade, I would return and accept that as temporary. It is still a fantastic dining establishment!

We’ve been coming to Mochica for years - since their SoMa location and we will continue to come - never a bad meal. We really appreciated our server taking the time to point out foods that would be appropriate for a member of our party who had some dietary restrictions.

Overall, great experience and service. Food could have been four stars but had to bump it down because the paella dish was super salty. We informed the server and she took it back to the kitchen staff. They replaced it with another paella dish which was delicious.

Had an amazing dining experience! The food was phenomenal and service from Hector was top notch, he was genuinely friendly/inviting, professional, and an expert on the menu. This was our third visit and it keeps getting better (service and food), we will definitely be back!

We were forced to go for the pre fix menu and pay 75$ for Id say 40$ worth of food which on top wasn’t that great. The ceviche was over cooked (the calamari was awfully overcooked) and the dessert was half frozen and we had to wait for 45 minutes for it during which they made us pay for the meal and enforced a mandatory 18% tip for a party of two. Never coming back.

We looked at the menu online and saw nothing about a required Valentine’s menu. The seating was cramped. We didn’t like the prix fixe menu, so wanted to order appetizers from the back of the menu. The waitress snatched it out of my hand and flipped it over, saying that we must order from the $75 pp menu and that the back side was only to order additional items. The ceviche was outstanding and dessert okay, The main course was incredibly bad (small filet and small lobster tail, both overcooked). I can’t see us visiting any restaurant in this Peruvian collection of restaurants. The experience made me realize that the owners put profit above quality and customer services.

Went to Mochica for brunch on a Sunday. Was fantastic! Didn’t have to wait long, and was immediately attended to. The food was delicious and bottomless mimosas did not disappoint. Will definitely go back!

Came on the night after New Year’s so it was still pretty quiet. The service was great, with very attentive servers. However the food was lacking. The chicken skewers were burnt, the half chicken took almost an hour to arrive, the ceviche wasn’t as fresh as expected. Including our two drinks, with tip, the total came down to ~$95 for two people. I really wanted to like the place, hoping it would become my go-to Peruvian spot.

The service was lukewarm at best... and having great experiences with Peruvian food in NY/NJ Mochica seems uninspired and not fresh. I found the lomo salteado extremely salty and the steak overcooked and old - as if it had been sitting in a pot all day. The Chino ceviche was not at all delicate, tasty and fresh; it,too, seemed to be sitting around for way too long. #verydisappointing
