MIX Prime Steakhouse, Fish & Sushi Bar

We went out for dinner and had a very pleasant evening and meal at MIX Prime. The location is very accessible with plenty of parking and the staff was great with helpful suggestions with our meal choices. Several of our party and the steaks were prepared very well and my seafood was very good. We have been going to Mix since it’s opening and I feel they have continued to improve each time we have gone. Go and enjoy, nice people and a very good staff

To be blunt, at top prices I expect top service and top food quality. They fell short on both. Still eating salad when they brought out entrees. Ordered Surf and Turf, asked for filet to be cooked a TRUE medium. It came bloody rare. Sent it back only to have it returned nearly well done. The lobster tail was undercooked (slimey) and lukewarm, so really the whole entree ($55) was a disappointment. Creamed spinach was a little crunchy but good flavor. Mashed Potatoes oversalted. Desserts were good. Waiter was friendly and apologetic for the steak, but busboy kept clearing away husband's plates before I was done eating (which, in upscale restaurants should not happen). At $175 (before tip) for 2ppl, I expect better.

Our waiter Charlie was amazing, super friendly knowledgeable of menu, and very attentive to our party. Will be back soon.

Salmon was very dry and bland. Not enough mango salsa.

Sunday brunch was absolutely fantastic. Great selection of drinks and food, fabulous presentation, food was delicious! Great place, worth the money they charge.

My prime rib was terrible & tasteless. My daughter ordered the fish dish which was dry. We did not mention this to our waiter because he was excellent.

Restaurant was very busy and too noisy for my taste. Couldn’t hear the waitress telling us the specials. My steak was much too salty and my baked potato was not cooked through. The other diners in our group were satisfied with their choices, but nothing was exceptional. Wouldn’t go back.

Was great experience from start to finish. Charlie our waiter was wonderful.

I’ve eaten at MIX Prime twice with equally very favorable reactions to the food and ambiance. We frequent many restaurants in Woodbury and had avoided MIX Prime as “too expensive”. But, we were wrong! We’ve had cocktails, wine, appetizers, soup, and entrees that we’re all wonderful and not cripplingly expensive.
They are now on our short list.

Lamb, hamburger, wings, onion soup, oysters... all memorably very good. Meats were cooked and served perfectly to our preference as ordered.

Don’t expect a quiet dining experience; it is a vibrant crowd clearly enjoying themselves. We ate in the “bar” and loved our waitress and the relative intimacy of our meal.
We’ve eaten in the dining room; it too was very close to perfect (I found the chairs to be very uncomfortable).

My wife and I look forward to our next visits to MIX Prime together or separately with friends.

Good sushi at a fair price, which is why I keep coming back. And my dining companion had what she deemed to be an excellent steak.

First time eating here, will come back. The French Onion Soup was one of the best we ever had. Just enough seasoning and cheese. We had the filet sandwich special and another filet dish with cut up beef in a sauce with risotto, so yummy.

Our group enjoyed a delicious dinner- we had a lovely evening.

It was thanksgiving and we never saw if there was any turkey. Deserts were very limited.

Mix Prime in Woodbury has become my favorite restaurant. The steaks and sushi are always great, service is attentive and not intrusive, and the bar is a great place to grab a quick drink or even have an improptu dinner. My one issue (and it't not just with Mix Prime) is that they don't seem to know how to deliver a rare steak with a nice exterior crust. You might get to medium rare or (worse!) medium. Still, the food is always flavorful. I have friends who come from across the state just to dine here. I definitely recommend it.

This was the first time we were seated in the dining room and we really enjoyed it. The ambience was lovely. We shared a house salad and it was tasty and large enough for two. My husband had the surf and turf special and was pleased. I had the shrimp scampi which was also delicious. Our only issue was that the food was served too quickly. We were still enjoying our cocktails when the salad arrived. We just finished our salads and the entrees were served. We prefer a more leisurely paced dinner, especially on a Saturday night when we want to relax after a busy week. We were in and out in an hour.

Shushi is as good as I’ve ever had and that includes the hundreds of sushi dinners I’ve had in Japan over 20 years of flying to Japan.
My wife had the haddock over broccoli rabe which was very tasty but completely overdone and at $40.00 way over priced.

Our only problem was that the main course was served to fast after the appetizer.

My husband and I were celebrating our Anniversary. We just moved from NY to Ct. We were very happy with our dining experience in Mix Prime. John, our waiter was so nice and friendly. He suggested the bone in Rib Eye Steak to my husband. The 24 ounce was plenty for us to share. I got the special filet mignon and lobster tail. It was excellent. We also had a dozen west coast oysters for appetizer. They were fresh and delicious. The meals came with one side each. We had the garlic mash potatoes and creamed spinach. The one serving was enough for both of us and we took steak and leftover sides home. The dessert special was pumpkin cheesecake and pumpkin gelato. The meal and dessert were delicious and the service from John was excellent! We will definitely return in the future!

This is a solid steak house with everything you'd look for...great steaks, classic sauces, sides, apps. Also exceptional sushi. Our server Frank was spot on with great service.

Excellent steak specially the bone in Rib eye. The side is super the. Mushroom and spinach.

The prime rib is amazing. Have it with creamy horseradish sauce. The filet was cooked perfectly, and the bearnaise sauce is excellent. Our server was attentive, but not hovering. The tiramasu was light and fluffy and perfect finish to the meal.

Half our party had sushi and raved about it. The other had wonderful steak, prime rib and lobster....yum!

We love mix prime and visit here when we want some great sushi. The salads are so fresh, the service is spot on and the place has a great atmosphere. We usually go late afternoon, before the rush of dinner guests arrive. It quiet and relaxing. Great place for a great meal.

This is our second time eating here since it was Max Prime. The menu is different. The steak was good, just not very flavorful. I wasn't wowed by this dinner. The other people with us were happy with their meals. I found it good but not delicious

I've been to Mix about 5 times since they opened. Service was better this time, but still leaves a lot to be desired. At these prices you expect your waiter to know if a chardonay is oaky or not. You also expect them to check on the table to see if they need a refill on drinks or anything for that matter- it doesn't count that the water guy comes to fill the glasses. The waiter should still check. It was a sunday night and they were not busy. Which is even MORE important that they be attentive. There is no excuse for it-again when you have the nerve to charge $30 for an entre you need to make sure your staff is trained properly and gives the appropriate message of what kind of restaurant this is.
