We did not stay because 3 of our group are vegans and there wasn't much they could order. But the restaurant looks lovely. Think about more menu options.
This was my 5th visit to Mistura (Paso and SLO). As always, the food and service was wonderful. I have introduced many friends to this restaurant and we consider it a very special treat. I will continue to explore the menu, and look forward to my next visit!
The service was good. They had a table ready for us. The host and server were friendly. The food was delicious. The price is a little on the high end, but worth it for the occasion. Thanks!
Everything was fantastic!
Poor, slow service - we constantly had to ask for things, starting with the menus, water, drinks, to order, etc. Our waiter basically ignored us for most of our time there. Except for the ceviche, the seafood was not fresh and the meat overcooked.
Pricey and did not seem prepared for the evening. Server did not check in and food was delicious but very small portions. Yummy drinks but pricey.
The menu is next to impossible to understand. This was not just us, I heard the table next to us complaining about it. The restaurant had a prix fixe menu and the only appetizer you could order was seafood with shellfish (a lot of people don't eat seafood or allergic to shellfish) and the whole prix fixe was $75 without a drink. Way $$$$ for what you get. After the server explained the menu we ordered the yuca appetizer it was under cooked and under seasoned. I had the mushroom ravioli for $30 ($$$) which was ok but way too rich for a main course. The ceviche was ok. They need to fix the menu, lower prices, and improve some of the courses.
The food was amazing, presentation was amazing. The alpaca was delicious i can’t wait to go back and try everything on the menu
Awesome food quality, service was excellent. Decent wine choices. Meat was tender and my husband who finds most lamb dishes gamey; this time he did not mind it at all. 10/ 10 points for that. Quaint little place, downtown- good parking
One of the best meals I've had in the last year, amazing food and a well picked wine list. Highly recommended.
Excellent restaurant with a Peruvian flare!! I had the lamb shank which was fabulous. Be sure and try one of their fresh fish ceviches.
The food was delicious and the flavors very complex. The service was on the slow side, but our waiter's table responsibility seemed to be on the heavy side versus the other servers.
Since we were not familiar with Peruvian cuisine we decided to give it a go for date night. We did not know what most of the menu items were but our server was great with explaining the food. We started with Yucca fries as we were familiar with them. Very tasty but we could have used just a bit more dipping sauce. The Caesar salad was fresh and delicious. We shared a Senor Lomos entree which was plentiful and delicious. We will turn to try more on the menu.
The experience at Mistura is unmatched, it's a delicious culinary journey - and, the service is always amazing!
Beautiful decor. Very delicious and unique Peruvian inspired fusion fare. Wide variety of dining options. Small plates avail. Beer and wine only, no cocktails. Try the Peruvian beer if you like beer. Overall a very fun and interesting dining experience!
Great food and service. We just should have gotten there a little earlier to enjoy our meal. Had to leave early to get to a play at the PAC.
Loved this place. Wonderful food..fun interesting..incredible ambiance and interiors...very attentive staff
Showed up with a party of 6. Waiter was very attentive and made great recommendations. Food was excellent. Service was excellent. It's now one of my favorite restaurants in SLO.
Food was ok. Glass wine pours are very small barely 3 oz pour. Asked for hot sauce and was charged 2.00 for it. It was maybe a tablespoon. Wont be going back.
We've been to Mistura two times and thoroughly enjoyed out time there and the food was excellent on each occasion. I had Lamb Shank and it was tender, moist and perfectly cooked. Highly recommend this. I had a Zinfandel along with the lamb and it was a great pairing. Others in our party also loved their meals as well. MIstura is beautifully designed and has a great ambiance for special occasion/romantic dinner dates. It is easily one of the best restaurants in SLO and in the county.
Outstanding food, and a great variety of menu choices. Bolitas were great, the Alpaca was different and enjoyable, and the habla causita was a great tasting dish.
Christmas Eve dinner was a bit of a disappointment, the food was not up to par. Too many things not quite right with the entrees to list, but not tasting fresh and the temperature of each dish (Lukewarm) were at the top.The service, however, was wonderful, the staff was very friendly and attentive. We hope the food will improve to match the service.
After reading many reviews, some good, some bad, I decided to give Mistura a try. I was pleasantly pleased! It was an earler reservation, and I wondered why the hostess sat us so close to others when there were other choices, but about 1/2 hour later the place was packed; it was Monday before Xmas. Our waitress was attentive and took the time to fully explain the menu. Contrary to many of the reviews, our order arrived in a timely manner. We shared 3 dishes, beginning with a quinoa salad. While on the small side, it was tasty. We then had the empanadas. They were out of mushroom, so we settlted on chicken. They were okay; a little on the greasy side, small, and they did not seem like they were freshly baked; perhaps they were heated in the microwave. The last dish we ordered was the mushroom ravoli, which was very creamy, rich and delicious. We each had two beers. The total bill for the two of us was about $100, which I find to be a bit on the pricy side considering we shared each dish/appetizer/tapa and didn't really have a full meal. I will return, but only for a special occasion rather than a casual weekend or week day meal out.
Was a big fan of Mistura in Paso Robles and was sad when they moved. Seem to be settling in to the new location. Good service, some new menu items. I recommend it — wish it were closer.
Delicious food. Great new spot in SLO highlighting a cuisine not commonly found on the central coast.
It’s was a beautiful and engaging environment
Amazing experience and great food. Everything is good here!
I wasn’t enamored with the food. Maybe Peruvian just isn’t my favorite cuisine. We were sharing items - since food was described as tapas but the portions were so small we only got one bite of each tapas item. The alpaca seviche was so tough I couldn’t cut it with a knife or chew it. No bread was available for soaking up sauces either. We shared 5 tapas plates and 2 ‘entrees’ between 4 people and I left hungry. Given the prices I would not recommend this restaurant to others. We had heard great things about this restaurant, so maybe our expectations were set too high, but I was really disappointed.
First time here. Food was great! Very tasty with great flavors. Service was ok, not as helpful as they could have been. One in our party ordered ceviche and when it arrived he was told that they were out of any plantain chips or any sort of chips or bread to accompany the ceviche. They really should have told us that before it was ordered. But overall we would love to go back and enjoy some of their other dishes.
So first and foremost , I love this place . My family is a bunch of foodies and I have eaten here 3 times and it was great. This time no so much ! We went the day after thanksgiving an maybe the regular staff and chef were off. We were seated in a corner and 30 minutes explored before we were offered a drink . My son and wife order a steak , his was burnt and my wife’s raw . Neither were asked how they wanted there steak prepared ?? Deseret was no better , flambiv bananas , they pour so much liquor that it burned the entire waffle con and melted all the ice cream , I will try again but it will be awhile
Our entrees were superb, on a par with SF quality in little old SLO! Don't miss the tableside handmade gelato, quite the treat. Tapas were good but small for the price. The worst was wine by the glass, smallest pours we've ever seen; get a bottle if you're having wine. Will definitely return!
It had been our third time there and first time for the other four in our party. We were sat in the entrance "hallway" on the other side of the wall. It was a shame because it felt we weren't even part of the restaurant. We had a view of door, a wall, and women's bathroom. We raved to our friends about the food, but tonight was sub par for some dishes. The octopus was tough and chewy. Service was fine, not great, but again we were out of sight behind the wall. Two entrees took an inordinate amount of time to come to table while everyone else had their food.
The food was really fantastic. However, we didn't get our entrees for more than 90 minutes, and then it was because we called a busboy over and told him how long we'd been waiting. Our waiter hadn't been around since serving our soup much earlier. We also had to ask for napkins and tableware. So, that wasn't great.
Once we talked to the busboy, we did get served pretty quickly, and the hostess brought our food, apologized, and comped us for our wine. We left satisfied. And in fairness, it was Thanksgiving and very crowded and busy.
We'd definitely go again.
Delicious food, lovely interior, good price !
Exceptional food. A wonderful meal with wide array of Peruvian food to try.
Perfectly prepared food complemented by impeccable service.
Would have liked if the menu had been more informative.
What a wonderful dinner So true Peruvian that the party next to us were Peruvian and loved the food
Very nice and original decor. Hostess was attentive as soon as we walked in. We were seated immediately and a waitress came right over with menus and asked if we wanted drinks or water. The menu was explained well and there were vegetarian and pescatarian options. The Habla Causita apetizer was delicious with different tasty sauces. The Ravioli de Langosta was mild but very tasty with a handful of chopped lobster in the center. The Chupe was excellent and had a very nice unique flavor. The flourless chocolate cake was a great combination with passionfruit and also a unique presentation. The coffee was also a bit unique tasting but very good. I felt it was a little pricey but the level of service, ambiance, and food quality more than made up for that. One appetizer, 2 glasses of wine, 2 entrees, one dessert $170 with a 20% tip.
