went on Peru’s independence day so they had live music and dancers which made it so much fun! food and cocktails were delicious, great recommendations from our server!
It was Peruvian Independence Day, so they had alive group that was very good ,but loud. They asked us if we wanted to be seated in a different room which was somewhat quieter. But the group was enthusiastic & so was the rest of the crowd The food was outstanding with generous portions. My wife had the paella which was probably enough for two. I had the Mixto ceviche that was fabulous & the short ribs which I love. All in all, a fun evening with great food, good service & a lively band.
Interesting food well prepared served hot..our server did a great job was there if we needed anything,,
We will return had a great meal.
Atmosphere is serene and calm. We had early lunch. The seafood and fish ceviche are fresh from the sea. Service is top notch from greeting us to the door and waving us goodbye. We will eat here every time we are in town.
Staff was very attentive. Just wished they didn’t try so many times to take our food away. At least 6 times someone asked us if we wanted boxes, even though we were still eating. Why the rush? It was too delicious to hurry.
Food is excellent and great for sharing. Highly recommend the Mixto Cebiche
Let me keep it simple. Sat there for over 20 mins and received no acknowledgement or service of any kind. This is with a reservation on an off day (Wednesday), the restaurant was not crowded at all.
The whole meal was a wow. I don’t usually order dessert, but it was an experience. Our server was very informative and excited about their food.
Excellent food and atmosphere. Will come back again.
Don’t miss a chance to be treated well with amazing food.
We made a reservation a week before because of daughter’s birthday and we came in and the restaurant was closed. So disappointing
The empanadas were cold and ceviche horrible. It took them 15 minutes to bring out the cold empanadas and then another 15 to get a glass of wine! It then took over 30 minutes for the entree. During this entire time, the waitress only came by once to check in. Horrible service and when I asked to just cancel our entree because we had been waiting for 30 minutes, the manager told us to wait another 5 minutes!! No apology. Nothing. Don’t bother going.
My husband is Peruvian, and we were looking forward to sharing this delicious restaurant when his sister and brother-in-law were visiting from out of town.
We generally love Mistura, but this week, not so much…slow service, tasty, but cold, food. My husband opted to order 2 appetizers instead of an entree. As such his appetizers should have been served contemporaneously with our entrees, instead his two appetizers arrived before the rest of us received our entrees and he had to sit and watch while the rest of us ate.
We asked to order wine and the wine service did not arrive until after we finished our meal.
After breaking the cork while trying to open the bottle, the server did not ask the host to sample the wine to make sure he approved. Fortunately, the wine was fine despite the crumbling cork.
Also, to our dismay, many servers were not wearing masks.
Loved everything. Highly recommend getting any of the seafood options
This is a tough one.. I really liked a lot of the dishes we had but one of our friends entrees came out, pretty much, when we were done eating ours. She had ordered the Ahi and it was cold and over cooked? I'm not sure how that is even possible. The other thing was the wait times for the dishes to come out. It took us 3 hours to complete our meal, to which the waitress apologized stating that the kitchen was struggling to keep up with orders. We would not have known whether or not they were actually busy because the layout of the restaurant has sectioned off rooms and we felt very detached from the rest of the restaurant. Almost like in an area that had been forgotten about. And on the subject of where we were seated, the AC was blaring down and the restaurant was unwilling to change tables or adjust the settings. This not only had cold wives but dishes that got cold too quickly.. aiy.. super frustrating evening. And it wasn't cheap.
Fabulous food. Server was very good. Kitchen was a bit slow but it was nice to nit be rushed. I’d definitely go back. Get the ceviche!
Everything was absolutely delicious just as always. Consistent amazing flavors and presentation! The service was great! We had a great time with family while enjoying the most amazing food in SLO.
FABULOSO. We loved being attended by the owner and loved his enthusiasm for his food. All natural and fresh ingredients swirled together in a delicate manner to bring the essence out of all the ingredients. We made a reservation, which I highly suggest, and were seated immediately upon timely arrival. We were a party of five and completely enjoyed our meal together. Superior wine list and truly enjoyed the Albariño white wine from Spain! From appetizers to dessert all was exceptional.
Excellent dinner! Dishes were full of flavor and presented beautifully.
we ate outside. had the white sea bass - INCREDIBLE cant wait to have it again. also had the tuna ceviche-also wonderful . the menu has many dishes they dont have on the peruvian restaurants in San Francisco where we live. but because the bass was so good we will have it again.
Fun, innovative menu and was wonderful. Staff was lovely! Fun atmosphere.
Food was fabulous. Ordered per your reviews as most was not familiar to us. Waitress was very helpful in selecting appetizer. Menu does identify all ingredients which is also helpful. Since all ingredients are very fresh one really can't go wrong. Have already recommended restaurant to several contacts.
Appetizers are the stars here. When I return, I will make a meal of those.
Wonderful food and atmodphere
The food was amazing. The short ribs was so good that we remarked that it tasted just like our mother's cooking. There was some opportunities for improvement from one of the servers. Elizabeth had a RBF that could scare paint off the walls. Our water glasses were empty and would go un-noticed multiple times. We had to catch a server that was not even at our table to ask for a refill of water. In fact, at some point, our servers changed to someone else and then back to Elizabeth and we could notice the drop off in service when Elizabeth was our server. The other servers were amazing and hospitable. Overall, she was the only low point of our dinner at Mistura.
We went to Mistura a few months ago when we could only eat outside and wear masks. Everything was great, food and service. This time however, was not. We made reservations got there on time and was seated by a lovely, friendly hostess. Then we sat and waited for about 10-15 minutes for someone to take our order. One of the nice girls filling water came by and we asked her to find our server. She finally came over and gave a haphazard apology. Never saw her smile and as I looked around most of the servers were not smiling. Maybe too many tables and I know its hard hiring people these days. Anyway, then we waited for the main course another 15-20 minutes. Just not as pleasant as our first experience. Our food was good, my husband had Azzoz Chaufa with shrimp and I had Aji De Gallina. I also had an old Fashion, rather small glass sand was $15. I gave the server an 18% tip even though she did not deserve normally it would have been 20%.
Unique menu with bunches of choices. The four of us each ordered a different main course and everyone was extremely satisfied with their selections. We will be back!
Amazing dining experience. Their seafood is always very good
New to the area and real foodies…this was delicious! Amazing fish choices and preparations. Service was lovely as well. We’ll be back! Thanks for a great experience!!
Beautiful presentation with ingredient flavors so complimentary to each other in every dish. The paella was perfect; spices, texture and seafood, definitely a favorite. Mixto Cebiche , outstanding citrus blend and the fresh varieties of seafood. Service was warm and attentive. Look forward to returning.
Basically all drinks other than Beer are $15.00. A bit steep. However, the food is 1st rate.
The Minoru and Mistura appetizers were as good as any we have had.
Arroz Chaufa, Paiche, and Arroz con Marisco were all worth the 'price of admission'.
If you are into Peruvian cuisine, definitely come to Mistura!
The food and service was fantastic. Our server explained the menu in detail and gave great recommendations. Very attentive service throughout the evening. Every dish was prepared beautifully and had impeccable flavor. Mistura is a one of a kind place and I can’t wait to go back. Absolutely exceptional.
The food and presentation are top rate. The space is nice but a little uneven (harsh lighting in some locations). We had to sit at a high top in the middle, which isn't my favorite. Service was attentive, if a little rough around the edges. The desserts were pieces of art. We sat near the dessert station and watched one more beautiful than the next sent out. Our salads were good and our entrees excellent. Really top notch food in SLO and looking forward to going back!
Interesting menu, beautifully plated small plates.
As usual it was an amazing experience! The food is consistently outstanding. We have our favorite things we like to order and they are always great! Service was exceptional. Everyone is treated like a number one customer. The owner and staff truly care about quality & presentation of the food as well as making sure the customers feel taken care of.
Mistura never disappoints. The food is authentic Peruvian cuisine. The ambiance is comparable to what you would expect at high-end restaurants in larger cities.
As Peruvians we know the delicacy of our food. The ceviches, bistec a lo pobre, tacu tacu, muy machito and others exceeded our expectations one more time. Thanks Adolfo for your service.
The food and service at Mistura are always special.
Good service and good food. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for.
The food and service were excellent. Loved our server
