Birthday dinner for our daughter. The waiter was outstanding!!! The food was delicious! The atmosphere is elegant I love being stuffy. I highly recommend!
Fabulous evening, our first at Mistral. The food was excellent and just so lovely to be in a vibrant, classy though relaxing restaurant environment for the first time in 15 months!
We had a wonderful Birthday dinner, foie gras, sole and lamb with risotto, all delicious. Brian P. was attentive and a wonderful server. Thanks for a special evening out.
So noisy we had to leave. Never had dinner
Good food, great service very friendly staff.
We had such a wonderful time. It was a special occasion and we were made to feel special from the moment we walked through the door. We had the most perfect table. Robert our server was fabulous and Andres who also served us was charming. Everything we ordered was incredible. My favorite was the crab ravioli. Thank you for such a memorable night.
Wonderful spot! Loved the ambiance and friendly plus attentive service! Créative cuisine to boot! We will be back
Wonderful as always. Our favorite Boston restaurant for many years.
Our server was fantastic and the food was amazing!
As always, Mistral was perfection!
Our server was attentive and helpful. Every course was delicious!
While the food was ‘good’ it truly was just that. None of the dishes stood out as anything spectacular like they generally do at the Columbus group’s other restaurants. While my wife and I did enjoy the crab ravioli we found the other dishes to be lackluster. The desert in particular which was a chocolate torte was reminiscent of a microwaved store bought lava cake while my wife’s duck appetizer arrived over cooked and served over a stale puff pastry.
Would we go back? No. Would we go to other Columbus group restaurants? Absolutely, just not Mistral as we have had other similar experiences in the past here too.
Wonderful celebrated our 40th anniversary
Lovely service. Beautiful ambiance. My friend loved her salmon and the blueberry tarts were out of this world. Tenderloin pizza was not as good as it usually is.
Food was subpar and not near the high quality enjoyed on previous visits. Steak was almost inedible. Service was great though, and so was ambience.
Extremely poor service that began with not a single greeting, not even a smile from any of the 4 people standing at the hostess stand. That was after having to walk through a cluster of people blocking the front door smoking. Waiter took a very long time to come to the table the first time to take our drink order so long that we were ready to order everything. Service start to finish took almost 75 mins from seating to check with the longest chunk of time being between appetizer and entree. The music was so loud and inappropriate it felt like we were in a nite club instead of a highly rated restaurant. But it still wasn’t loud enough to drown out the cackling woman at the bar. Lighting was so dark could barely see what was served on our plates. Tuna tar tar appetizer was delicious but served in a deep narrow bowl with a fork that made it difficult to get those last few bites as you dragged it up the side of the bowl. The high mound of long thin wonton “crisps” was a pretty presentation but cumbersome to eat without having to smash the wontons down with your fork. My $42 prime sirloin entree was presented as two potatoes with a seared steak lain on top of a messy vin rouge sauce. Fairly Tasty but disappointing presentation. No medallion fan? And you leave the outer strip of fat and gristle on it? Overall a disappointing choice for our first night out in so long and a $200 bill. At least to me, for my first and last visit here, it felt like everything was designed to cater to the bar patrons, not the dining patrons.
We went to Mistral to celebrate my birthday. The food was delicious without a doubt. However the Atmosphere was a bit noisy and the service was lacking. Our server was not attentive nor was he engaging in conversation. I think they were short staff and that reflect in the service.
Tremendous appetizers with excellent variety for entrees.
Its reputation for outstanding food and service is well deserved. One of the best restaurant meals we've had in quite some time.
Romantic dining room setting. Low lights, dreamy decor, excellent cocktails (we had ours in the chic lounge area as we waited for our table), and superb menu offerings. The summer corn soup is a must when in season! The duck and lamb dishes were delicious. Service was exceptional; from sweeping crumbs off the table between courses (I blame the warm, crusty baked bread - so good), to attentively positioning left-behind dinner napkins while at the restroom. The staff don’t miss a beat! And the food is nothing short of excellent. My husband and I would certainly return.
AWESOME as always! Mistral never fails to please.
Always a winner. I am never disappointed going here. One of the best restaurants in Boston.
The deserts weren’t so good
Service was great. Martini was fantastic. Appetizers were a 10 And entrees were a 9 out of 10. Overall a great experience and looking forward to going back.
Bartender Jose is simply the best! Professional and charming while being discreet.
And of course the escargots... Delicious :)
This was the most delicious dinner I have had in a very long time! The atmosphere was relaxing and charming, the food was so amazing! Get the seared foie gras and escargot. For dinner we had the Colorado lamb and the Halibut au poivre special, and a side of lobster and asparagus risotto! OMG!! So AMAZING! And to top it off our server, Grant, was kind, genuine, and so professional! His suggestions were on point and he was just honestly, the best. Thank you for an amazing evening. We will be back soon to try other menu items. DELICIOUS!
Food was delicious , service was very professional. The only sad thing, I leave a note that it is birthday celebration. Now one say a word. Why they even asked, then?
Was fairly quiet given recent re-opening due to Covid. Great food, service was a little "slow" but overall, still one of Boston's best for Dover Sole.
Absolutely outstanding experience in every way.
Great food, elegant ambiance, timely service but annoying server
Tasty well presented French food
Do not pass go before the fois gras in brioche with duck confit—outstanding! Both halibut and salmon dishes with their imaginative sides delighted us, cooked perfectly, served at the moment. Wow!
We loved the Tuna appetizer. We had the Halibut special and it melted in my mouth. Our waiter could not have been more attentive and helpful. We loved everything about it.
This is a lovely restaurant for fine dining with excellent service. You will feel more comfortable to dress up a little. The food is exquisite and they make a good Martini. We really enjoyed the pan roasted halibut with lobster and asparagus risotto, and also the grilled beef tenderloin with horseradish whipped potatoes. You can really taste the horseradish in the potatoes, which was a perfect balance with the beef. The beef tenderloin with mash potato pizza was also a huge hit with the thin crispy crust and cheesy caramelized potato and beef. If you like chocolate, you must try the warm Valrhona torte for dessert, it was so satisfying.
We had a very enjoyable meal here and can’t wait to return to Boston to have it again.
Always the best… service is everything.
The restaurant was very nice and well decorated.
The waiter who served us was excellent. He made great recommendations and was very patient answering
our questions. He insisted on replacing our coffee when we were give the wrong milk. He was attentive but
The food was excellent. We had the foie gras and duck confit and tuna tartare appetizers and both were
fabulous. The foie gras and duck was the better of the two appetizers.
For entrees, we ordered the rack of lamb and the tenderloin. The lamb was tender and flavorful. Probably the
best rack of lamb I’ve ever eaten.
For dessert we had the chocolate torte and the profiteroles with pistachio ice cream. While the torte was good,
the pistachio ice cream, chocolate and the croquant combined to make the profiterole exquisite. A must try!
Overall a wonderful dining experience.
Service was superb. Food excellent. We celebrated our 32nd anniversary there last night. This restaurant may be our next go-to favorite for special occasions. Expensive but not overpriced for what you get. Overall great experience.
Food was delicious and drinks were phenomenal. Definitely pricey but a nice dinner for a special occasion.
What a way to emerge from the lockdown! I have been missing Mistral for well over a year now, and despite the terrible weather, this was every bit the world class experience I remembered. The only thing I'm still wishing they'd have on their drink list is a good, dry sherry; but that's a minor issue in the scheme of things. The food was as good as I remembered, the service as pleasant and as personal, the the ambiance every bit as lovely. Thanks to all for another memorable meal, and for helping us to feel human again after this nightmarish year!
The service is royal, our waiter was always aware of our needs, always smiling, came back from the restroom with my napkin folded. He immediately congratulated us for our wedding anniversary once seated. I’m French, and it felt so good to have food cooked the same way as if I was in France. I got the sole meunière and it was like my mom’s, the food is delicious!!! I cannot recommend enough this restaurant, 1st time in Boston I’ve been taken care like a Michelin restaurant. Thank you to the whole team, we had an awesome evening at Mistral.
