First, I start by saying that all of our meals were beautifully plated and delise!!! Service and ambiance left room for muchhhhh improvement!..We were a group of 6, arriving staggered, but timely, so we were told to wait at the bar for the others to arrive. While at the bar we discovered it was Happy Hour and was given a set of 2 sticky menus. I must also add that the floors were so slippery that we all had to tip toe to avoid slipping, as did the servers! Seemingly, there is a moisture problem throughout! We order drinks from happy hour menus. Our group arrives, so we can now be seated, as reserved. Our server, though nice, told us that we could not bring our drinks purchased at the bar to our newly seating table, after we have already left our 5 bar seats. We quickly decided to return to the bar, our seats were no longer available. So, we head back to our table w/o our drinks. I must mention that the place is little, about 4 booths and 2 tables, bar in middle. We can see the entire bar from any seat. Without further talks about it, we simply decide to just enjoy one another. We ordered almost $400 of food and of course gratuity was already added!! Beautiful plates of food started to arrive. Lamb chops, whole fried snapper, pork loin chops, etc. Next the server drops off a service pkt of plastic fork 'n knife!! Not even a sturdy kind!! We immediately ask for real flatware!! Each server asked answers "there isn't any rolled"....we ask again and convince another server that loinchops and snapper (on real plates) cannot be enjoyed with plastic! Our server then comes back with 6 rollups, found in the office (?!) we simply share a look at one another and enjoy the delise food. Will I eat at Miss Toya's again?...Absolutely! because the food did not disappoint!! However, I choose not to dine at this location again!! Cleanliness, customer service and advance prep of silverware need to be prioritized. It's apart of the dining experience!!

Food was delicious! I wanted to support a black-owned business for Juneteenth, and it did not disappoint. I bought additional food to carry home to the family.

Everything was amazing!!! I’m glad we got to experience Miss Toya’s for my 40th birthday! I’m definitely coming back. Everything was wonderful from the time we entered the door to the time we got our checks and left. Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality. I will definitely return soon.

My husband and I came from Richmond, VA and heard about this restaurant so we had to come check it out. Upon arrival we were greeted by Mr. Keith checked-in and immediately seated. Our waitress was Kendell who was phenomenal she provided us with great suggestions for food and drink. My husband had the old fashion smoked tequila I had the Mesqui. For appetizer my husband had the philly cheese steak eggrolls. For entrees I had the catfish with collards and 5 Mac n Cheese, my husband had Cajun chicken pasta which was dynamite! For dessert we tried the sweet potato cheesecake and the bread pudding w/caramel drizzle both are a must! Before you order your meal put in that dessert order trust me it's worth it! The ambience was a 90s rnb which is always a vibe. This restaurant is a 10 out of 10. Thank you all for making our 1st visit an amazing experience ❤️!

It was a good experience. I do think it’s over priced. For that reason I probably would not go back.

We made a reservation for 815 but did not arrive until 830. The hostess was gracious enough to sear us even though the kitchen was closing at 9. We were coming from my mom’s funeral. I was visiting from California and my cousin that lives in DC spoke highly of the place so I knew I wanted to sample before leaving the next day. Everything we had was absolutely delicious even the spinach which I’m not normally a fan of, but was scrumptious! The waitress was super friendly. Food came out hot. The deviled eggs with crab were “goated” according to my son of 26. It was the perfect way to end our Celebration of Life for my mom!

Our server/bartender was very attentive and personable. She was the best part of the experience. The drinks were great. Some of the food was bland; the red snapper was fried too hard; the fried green tomatoes were too tart; the cornbread was good. Overall, it was cool. Definitely not worth the money I spent. Oh btw, there’s a 20% service charge added to every check.

Arrive early and they were able to accommodate us. Our waitress was attentive and very friendly. The food was very good and the portions were just right.
