Miramar Beach Restaurant
Came here for a date night. The music was outstanding, server was very attentive and listened to our customization perfectly. Thank you! Food was decent, not the best definitely. We shared the paella, it was kind of like a soup with seafood and rice in it, I’d prefer it drier, more like a stir fried rice dish. And we both didn’t like the sausages and chicken that comes with other seafood. Since it’s a $30 dish I had more expectation for it. May try steak Next time.
We get to the Miramar about once a month and every time ask ourselves why we don't come more often. The food and service are always very good and the ambiance is excellent, especially on nights when the piano player is playing. The window tables are the best, of course, but even the interior tables in the main dining area have great views of the ocean and Pillar Point. This visit we started with a delicious Castroville artichoke (which came with a red pepper aioli but was excellent even without) and then had the shrimp scampi and blackened salmon, both served with a light basmati rice and perfectly cooked asparagus. The bread is served warm with plenty of whipped butter on the side, and the cocktails are generous. On this night there was a short delay in getting seated at our reservation time, despite several tables available, and the reason given was that the staff needed to catch up on their orders, which was a novel reason for delay. We then had another slight delay because our server was training a new server, but once they had us on their radar, service was excellent. One day we'll reserve space for dessert because they look appealing, but we never have enough room after enjoying an appetizer and entree. The Miramar has been here for the 30 years we've lived on the coast, and its quality presentation and service deserve the privileged spot it maintains overlooking the ocean.
Great waitress named Brie!
The Miramar is a fantastic restaurant with a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean. The ambiance is old school and it has a terrific bar with great bar tenders and lots of tables in the bar if you can't get a seat at the bar. Almost every table has a view of the ocean although almost everyone wants to wait for the tables right at the front windows. The Outdoor area is also great but it can get cold and foggy even though they have Heat Warmers for the Outside tables. The parking is free but not abundant.
The food was excellent. I had the Fish Tacos, 3 Corn Tortilla tacos with grilled Mahi Mahi. The 3 pieces of Mahi Mahi are so big they could be a meal themselves. I only ate 2 and took the other home.
Our group of five enjoyed a nice table by the window. Although it was dark, we could still see the waves on the shoreline. Our service was fantastic -- water glasses filled regularly, and everyone was warm, friendly, and helpful. The food was delicious. There was live piano music providing perfect ambience, playing diverse repertoire, from "Frozen" to a jazz rendition of "Für Elise", and the occasional "Happy Birthday" skillfully crafted in, but never too loud for conversation around our table. Being able to make a reservation, even just two hours before dinner, made for a delightful and memorable Friday night out.
I hadn't been there in 20 years and it was still excellent! I live out state.
Great meal for the $. Service was great.
Gracious hostess. Excellent server. Delicious food. Perfect evening.
We shared the surf and turf and got sick. Views were excellent but not worth getting sick. We contacted the restaurant to let them know but no response back so far. Our waitress credited us back for the lobster portion of our meal, not sure if she knew something we didn't.
Sunday brunch with a great view, gets crowded, piano player was a nice touch.
The day after Valentines dinner was great. The wait with the reservation was a little long but everything else was great.
We had an enjoyable and leisurely dinner for the 4 of us. Food was very good and service was excellent
Good quality food, very good service and magnificent sunset view.
Excellent food, great friendly service and the piano player was awesome!! Highly recommend this place
Beautiful ocean view, good food, bar with live piano playing a nice touch. The noise level was frenetic at times since bar was right next to dining area without a wall to separate. Still able to hear your dinner partner if you lean in.
Restaurant was very busy this Valentines night. Which may have impacted our server's ability to refill waters timely, and take drink orders. Also, petrale sole entree was not hot and relatively flavorless. On the plus side were the seafood ceviche and rack of lamb, ambiance created was festive and staff was courteous and chipper.
Food was terrible. Sauce for our Se came in a plastic cup. Food wasn’t even warm. Don’t go here. Waste of a $100
Very good romantic restaurant on the water.
Exceeded my expectations, especially on Valentines Day. Beautiful ocean view and a decent, yet varied menu. The piaya was excellent. The wait staff is superb. We were never rushed and they were extremely attentive. We were able to sample wine before ordering. Throughly enjoyed the experience and will definately make this one of my "go-to" restaurants.
the reservation system worked. were seated very promptly. waitress was very attentive and did a nice job.
We’ve been here several times and have always had a good experience. Took my Dad with his oxygen tank and very accommodating. This time was my Mom’s 95th birthday and family from out of town. Our experience was lovely
You pay for the view, which is excellent. My wife had the Scampi sautéed prawns with mashed potato and mixed vegetables. She thought it was very good.
I had the seafood paella. If you read the description you are supposed to get chorizo sausage (2 pieces the thickness of cut salami), Manila clams (3 empty shells), loch Duarte salmon(substituted some kind of firm white fish), chicken?, basmati rice (less than a 1/4 cup) for $31. Very disappointed.
It was my husband's birthday that day. Elizabeth, the hostess, recognizes me before I give her my name. We always ask for Juan as our waiter, as he is the best. He even remembers our favorite wine and appetizer.
Great all around and the food is always consistent. View and service too and Terry Disley on piano tops off the night
We had really good food with amazing views. Worth it!
From the moment I walked through the door I felt completely unwelcome by ALL of the guests in addition the person at the door who attended the people who walked in after me first.
My reserved table wasn't ready so I sat at the bar where the bartender was super nice but the people on either side of me were giving me the death stare the ENTIRE 30 minutes I was sitting there.
The restaurant itself is nice, and my waiter was an amazing human. However, the type of people it attracts are disgusting humans whom I will never in my life want to spend one more second with. I would NOT recommend going here for dinner unless you look and fully act old school hetero/christian/conservative/white/male/or antifemale supporter. If you don't adhere at all of those tightly you will get the death stare your entire meal.
Fabulous fresh food and terrific service. Awesome ocean view. A lovely venue overall.
We love MBR. The food is always great, and the wait staff is friendly. Terry Disley as the entertainment = heavenly.
The MIRAMAR is our coastside "go to" restaurant....especially great are the Thursday night specials. Never disappointed!!
Not easy to talk to friends at table when piano plays. Music could be lower.
Dinner choices are excellent and view.
Always a good meal and a lovely ocean view.
We arrived for our reservation and were completely ignored. We asked to be seated outside, but it was really cold and windy, and they said the heaters didn’t work, so we moved inside. By this time, we have been in the restaurant for more than 15 minutes, and had not been approached by a server. I finally went to the host stand and asked that they send a server. 5 minutes later, we flagged one down! Food was mediocre. The oysters were not even on ice to keep cold. View was exceptional. Service is awful.
Our waiter Juan was a total delight! He had a fun, attentive and generous way of responding to any and all requests. When I commented that he must be a lot of fun to live with he said ‘my kids say so’- I can believe it!
Entertaining out of state guests, we asked for a relatively quiet table, and understanding for holding the table while we visited. These came with excellent food and service.
Delicious crab cocktail. Much better than I’ve had at other restaurants nearby. Excellent service and ambiance. Love the history here. Very nice pianist playing during dinner. We really enjoyed that. Seafood pasta was very good. Would have been better with less sauce. Chowder was good and crab cakes very good. We love this place!
Vista was spectacular but the food preparation was bad. The paella was very watery
Juan took very good care of us and the food was delicious!! 🥰
We are locals. This is our go-to spot. They never disappoint (us).
We arrived as it opened and all 4 of us had different items...all were “Luke warm” at best. No reason....very few patrons were there.
My biggest complaint is that the wait person took dishes as soon as one person @ the table put down their fork. I am adamant that they leave plates until it is obvious that ALL are finished or are asked to do so.
The good was incredibly good - as I continue to visit this restaurant with guests the quality seems to keep going up. My guests and I were both raving about our dinners. It's noisy - but that can be fun on a Saturday nite. I'd highly recommend, as always, this restaurant.
