Juan is the best waiter and our food is always wonderful. Our go to dinner spot.
Our son and new girlfriend were in town, and wanted to see the sunset while dining. Luckily, it was locals night, scallops were on the menu, and it was a hit! Served with a pasta in light pesto sauce, it was presented beautifully. We started with a cold artichoke served with two different and delicious aioli dips. The meal was rounded out with a cup of minestrone, and a strawberry cake dessert. A glass of Chardonnay perfected the meal. The fresh halibut entree was beautiful and cooked to perfection. The crab cakes were filled with sweet chunks of crab. That was a terrific treat! The entrees were served just as the sun was setting! Everyone was very pleased with the food, wine, and ambiance. Our server, Juan, was great, attentive, friendly, and timed the courses appropriately. We highly recommend the Miramar Beach Restaurant!
Excellent as always! Thursday night specials are always the best!
Was a Prohibition speakeasy. Owners have kept the historic ambiance of that era.
The Bomba dessert was itself worth the drive. Add the view and outdoor dining and this place is a spot I will be visiting again soon. Parking can be a problem. We had to wait because our car was blocked but even that did not ruin our time.
This is our favorite restaurant ! Usually we don't book on Open Table because when the weather's nice we sit outside, but this time the weather was cold, so we did book for inside. We were lucky to get a window seat from which we could enjoy the spectacular ocean view. This restaurant has the best atmosphere (which includes the history !) and the best view anywhere. The seafood is great, too, with lots of garlic. When we come alone, or when we have company from overseas, this is where we come !
Superb service, splendid etting & views, & fabulous food, everything was terrific!!
Fantastic food! Great drinks! Luis is a great server!
Great view of the ocean and sunset, prompt seating, friendly service, very good food.
Great food; slightly noisy; great atmosphere

EASY ACCESS PARKING NOTHING NOT TO LIKE
This is the second time we had been to Miramar Restaurant. The first time was 6 months ago to celebrate our engagement and we really enjoyed the food and the whole experience. We thought we would go back to celebrate our birthdays. There was no mention of a special menu for easter upon making the reservation. We decided to stay and try it anyway since we had traveled to go there. My food had little taste and my pasta had so much sauce it was like soup. I took two bites and was done. It was a crab and shrimp pasta and i found 1 piece of crab and about 5 shrimp..definitely not worth the $26. One would assume since it was a special occasion smaller menu, the dishes would be well done. The whole experience was mediocre and I spent the whole meal looking at the view and the sunset. I left hungry and less $75 dollars. Not the greatest birthday dinner and quite disappointing.
A lovely setting, good service an tasty food
The occasion was Easter Sunday so the restaurant was very busy. The staff was very nice and our server was good. We were disappointed with the menu being offered on
Easter. They had a small section for those who wanted breakfast. They offered some salads and pasta w fish only. No meat sauce. This didn’t go over very well with the kids.
They also offered a hamburger. The rest of the menu was appetizers or some type of fish. The fish and chips was terrible. The fish was cod. When you bit into the crust you found a very very small piece of cod surrounded by a huge pocket of air. You had to take at least 3 bites to find the fish inside. Two people got the hamburger, which was
fair. They asked for the burger to be cooked medium and it came to the table extra well done. It was very dry and very very over cooked. The toppings w the burger was a small pickle a very small slice of onion and a tiny tomato. French fries were served both with the dishes. One other person at the table had an omelette. They like it.
We started with calamari which was good. The sauces for the calamari was a tartar sauce and a warm picante sauce. No one liked the picante sauce. Everyone wanted
a cocktail sauce. They didn’t have. Everyone had dessert which they all liked very much. The desserts were the best part of the meal. Even though the food was not very good everyone had a nice time because being with family was the most important part of this Easter Day. We will try this restaurant again to see if the food improves when it’s not so busy!!
Being busy is no excuse for any restaurant to offer and cook sub-par food. We would have sent the 3 dishes back to be cooked correctly if it wasn’t Easter Sunday and the restaurant being so busy. Miramar restaurant looked like they had enough staff working to adequately cook for the crowd of people. As to why the food wasn’t that good, we had no idea!! ????
Had made reservations weeks ahead for Easter. Requested nice window seat for my 100 year old Dad. Our table for 5 was the best table in the house upon arrival. My only negative was the Angel Hair pasta/scallop in light oil must not have been drained....... swimming in water that washed out the taste. Two servings, watered down. Chowder is primo! Drinks were good too.
the Easter Sunday brunch, Veggie Omlette, was COLD, since it was a beautiful day we choose to eat outside....that was the best part.
Miramar is always a delight, with great views of HMB. We have been going there for 20+ years and still find it a fun place to get away from the City.
However... the parking has become a nightmare! They only have valet parking, and we don't valet park (damage & lawsuits experience). The patio has added a heavier load on the parking, and the lots fill up very quickly. That pushes parking out on to the streets of Miramar, which can be a tough search. One of our party was in a wheelchair which required unloading at the front door - very difficult since that is exactly where the valet parking is located. The number of disabled spaces is very limited, and with an older clientele they are quickly filled.
As much as we like Miramar Beach Restaurant, we will have to really think about going at any times other than "off times," due to the parking problems. Weekends are probably out of the question.
We had a great time celebrating Easter with our family. I love the restaurant and the ambiance.
I am extremely happy with my dining experience. Loved the menu offerings for a waterfront restaurant. Our food arrived pretty fast considering how busy the restaurant was. Our waiter was very attentive and accommodating when we decided we wanted to enjoy a few more bottomless mimosas outside.loved the ambiance on Such a beautiful day. We had a dozen oysters (very meaty by the way), the crab meat on our ceviche was so scrumptious. The seafood paella was very well made, although Not a Spanish restaurant, had the right amount of Saffron.
Our server was exceptional. I only wish I recalled her name to leave here!
If the food had come out hot instead of luke warm I would have given a much higher review. Easter Brunch was a good value especially since we got the bottomless mimosas. the view and ambiance are very good. The service was good, and a little slow, so one needs to have patience.
Beautiful location, decent food and service. A tad overpriced for the food, but overall a nice place to dine and watch a gorgeous sunset.
We were dissented. We got a window table as we had reserved. The location and ambiance is excellent. Service was very slow. Food was second rate. I could have done better at home myself.
Great spot on the beach! Friendly service and good food!
Beautiful location, historic building and good service. The food is excellent. Very family
friendly. So for romance or just quiet cozy dining request a table away from babies and
missile throwing tots!
Out of state guests were delighted with our dining experience at the MIRAMAR. Menu/Service/view . . .a perfect trifecta.
Great service, good food. Would do it again.
The receptionist on 03/37/2018 was not welcoming. She never smiled to diners. Over priced. Food presentation is bad. Our food server was great though. It’s just the view from the restaurant was amazing.
As always, but this time even better, the food was great! Generous proportions- plenty to take home for a lunch the next day. The Brooklyn martini was spot on. Although the restaurant cannot control the weather, even that was perfect. Watching the sunset over Mavs is quite a delight. Best of all, our visiting family from Portugal loved everything about the evening. It was a very special time, once again, at Miramar Restaurant!
This was our 4th time visiting the Miramar Beach Restaurant. We always have a great meal. Really nice staff and nice patrons as well. You can’t get a better view of the ocean, you are right on it.
Service was not great - it was ok. Wait staff were friendly, but service was certainly on the slow side, and some order details were forgotten. Took a long time to get water / bread / taking drink orders initially, for example. Food was mostly good / ok. Calamari appetizer seemed undercooked / rushed - the batter seemed almost still wet / doughy. Bread pudding dessert was excellent / delicious. All desserts met with much approval. Steaks were well received and thoroughly enjoyed. Blackened salmon was decent and tasty, but salsa was almost funky / questionable (avocado seemed iffy). Beer selection kinda sucks - really need to up the game on that. Bread was pretty miserable - not a fan of crusty hard sourdough bread cut in such a way (i.e. not all the way through) that people have to viciously rip it apart with their hands, leading to spreading of colds and flu and such. Plus, the rock hard butter ice cubes are just infuriating to try to spread - why is hard refrigerated butter still a thing in this day and age? I feel like Miramar Beach Restaurant is resting on the laurels of its great location and not living up to its full potential. Still a good place, though.
Great love to come here
Great as always!!
Great service and food...nice window seat too. Would go back when in the area
Great view, right on the water. Very good value! Extensive menu..
Beautiful view of the ocean, nice live piano music, wonderful service and fabulous food. It was a great night!
Juan, our usual, by request, waiter is the best. Excellent customer care. We request his section every time. Food is always excellent! atmosphere is wonderful even when foggy. Sunsets here are gorgeous. The piano music on the weekends is so nice. We love this place. It's a 39 mile drive one way for us but so worth it!
Great location. Right on the ocean overlooking Half Moon Bay. Good fish tacos. The ceviche was a bit disappointing But the place at lunch time was extremely loud. Free valet parking.
This place is always a pleasure to dine . The staff is always wonderful and a great place to watch the ocean roll in and out.
My favorite seaside restaurant!! Food is always good especially their seafood chowder. Great for special occasions. Perfect when the weather is sunny and you can sit outside and watch the waves crash and then take a leisurely walk down the promenade. Always worth the drive from San Jose.
