Mio Nonno Trattoria - Flower Mound
Excellent as always.
Very Good and $4 Martini Night
Outstanding! Great service and excellent food. Highly recommend.
Our party of 4 was there close to 2 hours and never got our meals. We were told a problem with the ticket printing for the kitchen and our order ticket didn’t make it so parties that came in after us got their food, including two large parties.
We did cancel our order and got our beverages comped. The waiter tried, he seemed frustrated overall as he wouldn’t be making much in tips.
This is the 2nd time we have had bad service. So disappointing.
Always amazing food, friendly service, and the best ambiance
Great food and service, however the restaurant was VERY warm. They keep the patio door open, that plus the pizza oven makes the back half of the restaurant quite toasty. The patrons on the patio in the middle of July were more comfortable than the patrons inside.
Very pleasant outside.
The good news: the main courses were very good. The bad news: virtually everything else. The young greeter was full of attitude. The noise level was extreme; very difficult to carry on a conversation. The restaurant was busy, but there were open tables. We ordered a drink. A few minutes later, we ordered an appetizer. The appetizer made it to the table before the cocktails. I asked for a very dry martini. What I received was drowning in vermouth. The waiter apologized for the slow service, but apologies do not make up for the lousy service. There are too many other good choices to bother returning to this establishment.
One of the best places for Italian in Denton county.
We sat on the patio. Service was wonderful. Food and wine was good. Next time I'll go on a Wednesday - 1/2 price bottles of wine!
The very generous portion of veal marsala did not disappoint. Be sure and try to Mario’s pasta too in a rich and creamy sauce -to die for.
Paul was so attentive, funny and patient with us. I would request him if you can.
Restaurant is a bit loud inside but a very fun atmosphere!
Delicious lasagna , ok margarita pizza ! Quality ingredients great atomosphere
The food and service were great. Only negative is it was too hot we’re we sat which was by the back door for a table of 6.
Simply awesome experience! We were visiting from out of town on business and found this to be a local gem!
The food was excellent and service great until we waited long fir dessert to arrive ???? Server Jagger was very pleasant and knowledgeable. We enjoyed him very much
The only real complaint was it was way too hot , making the experience uncomfortable
We have visited this restaurant twice; the first visit was pre-pandemic. We had the same waiter, Hunter, and the exact same experience. Their food is delicious but the kitchen is very slow. At both dinners we received our first course fairly quickly, but we were seated over an hour before our main course entrees arrived. We are certain the issue is slowness in the kitchen and/or poor management, not our server, although this evening he did not tell us about any specials. The reason I know there were some specials is because I overheard another waiter telling his table about them. We will not go back to Mio Nonno unless we get carryout. It's a shame they cannot or will not correct their slow service because the restaurant is attractive, it is in a good location and the food is very good. We felt neglected and that is certainly a huge negative for a sit down restaurant experience.
Service was terrible. Drinks were painfully slow to arrive. Appetizer was ok but not warm. Veal looked like a dog threw it up on the plate. It too was not hot or even warm. Flavor was not good at all. Sea Bass was burned and overcooked but again, served not even warm. We should've sent back both our main courses. I've eaten here many times and this is the worst experience we have had. We won't be going back. To add insult to injury the check never came and we had to chase down the waiter inside then he stands there while we fill out the check and says he is sorry that they gave him too many tables.
Food was excellent. Service was not great. The food made up or it
Mio Nonno is consistently one of the best choices for relaxed and enjoyable dining in the area. The food is exceptional and the service is always top notch. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Great Local spot for us! Always good. The Calamari is my favorite!
This was our first time at this restaurant but it will NOT be our last. Loved the whole experience. The food, the service, EVERYTHING.. Going here reminded me of all the reasons people like to go out to dinner! C O N G R A T S!! AND KUDOS
Way too noisy.
The restaurant was very lively with loud music and energy. We started with drinks (Peach Bellini and Bella Figura) and both were very good. We then had the Bruschetta and a Rucola salad. The Bruschetta was amazing and I will definitely get that again. The salad was good, but we wish it had a little more apples and nuts, as there were only a couple of each in this large salad. For our mains we had lasagna and the Ciopino. We liked both and would say they were above average, but not amazing. We finished off with another round of drinks. My wife has another Bellini and I opted for the Peach Bourbon Smash. I was very disappointed in the smash as it called out Fresh Peaches in the ingredients and there were none in my drink. I sent the drink back and told the waiter that I thought they forgot the peaches and he came back with the drink 90 seconds later. It still didn't have any peaches in it and only had a slight peach flavor. "Smash" drinks normally have the muddled fruit in the drink and this had just the essence of peach flavoring. Very disappointing way to end an overall decent meal.
It was a little overpriced for what we got, but I wouldn't rule out going back again.
We've eaten here many times and been very satisfied with the service and food. This time our server was overtaxed with the large section he was handling inside and outside. He did the best he could. It was clear he was experienced and knowledgeable about the menu but our overall experience was very slow service, resulting in long wait for water, drinks, to order, and to receive food. Our server was very aware and apologetic. When our food finally came out, it was just warm and not hot. We tipped him 20% - he tried but it felt like much was out of his control.
Great food and ambience
Nice wine and great food with great service. Linguini and clams was superb.
Jagger was great serving us, patio is lovely! Had a great time!!
This is decent Italian but will not inspire too many return visits. The portions are fairly large especially the salads. I would rather see a more petite salad and lower price. They need to work on that focaccia bread; it is totally flavorless and spongy. I like mine a bit more yeasted and coarse. My wife got a dish with two small lobster tails. They were pretty good, but the chef did not release the meats from the shell. It was quite a hassle extracting the tail meats. I had the cacciatore with polenta. Good preparation but the polenta was bland.
Mio Nommo was not a bad palce to take your party, it jsut needed to improve on a few things.
1. The AC was out, but opening the doors for a cross breeze was okay.
2. It took a good 15 minutes before anyone came to our table to introduce themselves as our wiatress or provide water in the mean time.
3. Waitress was not very friendly or attentive. Not bad, but others provided more attention. Example: normally they waiter or waitress asks if you would like any additinal cheese on your dish. Although they were holding it in their hand at the time.
4. The presentation of the food was very good.
5. The food was good, but my wife had the vongole and there were numerous calms that had not opened. The dish that my daughter had was too salty for her. This may be a little more about preference.
6. We wer not offered a dessert menu, but we did get something to go after asking.
So overall Mio Nommo was not bad, but one could say there is room for improvment. I will most likely return to see hoiw things are working before writing it off my list.
Very good gnocchi and veal picatta. Nice to sit outside on a Friday night. Great service
Our favorite in FM! Consistently good food and service.
This is one of our go to favorites! You can dress up, dress down, take your team fir lunch or have a date night. Beautiful decor inside and relaxing outdoor patio. A bit loud inside on busy nights. Amazing food every time!
Celebrated Mother’s Day...It was amazing as usual! One of our favorites!
Need more waiters; had to ask who our waiter was after sitting for 15 mins with no service. Need outdoor candles , could not see food after dark.
Food and company great! Noise level can be a bit too high to carry on a conversation.
Great atmosphere great service food was amazing sauce was excellent food portions were average which it were more cause left with desire for more...
Server Freddy was awesome we had calamari which was very good also the aranchiata also amazing but only 4?
Anyway we had Mario both veil platters and eggplant parm all were superb...finished off with tiramisu and Expresso and some live music for an incredible night! Definitely be back again...
I’ve ordered the linguine and clams here many times but last nights portion was very small and I was very disappointed
Such a great place. Certainly our favorite.
Weird place. Really loud. Desperately dying to be young and hip. Very odd and mixed crowd.
One of our favorites! Always ask about specials, and be aware that often the serving sizes can be very large.
An unusual do not miss is their beet salad.
